The bathrooms and showers are often dirty, and I’ve noticed the same trash left there from one day to the next. There are soap stains and buildup in the shower areas, which makes it seem like they are not cleaned regularly. The pool area also does not appear to be very clean. The facility has large pools and good potential, but the lack of cleanliness is a major issue. Management needs to improve housekeeping and maintenance standards. ### 2/5 — Overcrowded Class *2026-02-02, version 26.1.5.1* It’s obvious that everyone who shows up for the silver fit class with Julie (8:00am T&Th) has not made a reservation. Love the place and equipment. However one complaint I wish the app offers is showing you roughly how busy it is. Couple other gym apps show you, for those days you can’t make the morning time and want to go when it’s less crowded. I must go find the place where class is described in another area of the app , and if I have booked it already, it gives me the option there to add to calendar. Please fix to be able to immediately add to calendar when reservation is made. I was shown how to do it. Then when I wanted to reinstate them a couple of months later it cost me a fee plus that membership went up by a substantial amount. No one mentioned that to me. I left several messages for the manager and he never returned my call. I specifically made time to go in to talk to him. When i spoke with him about my concern and let him know i never got a call back from him, he never apologized or said anything about that. Again it was disappointing. Also, i specifically upgraded my membership so that i could reserve Rod’s 10:30am spin class which is the only reason i have a membership at in-shape is to take this class. Otherwise i would cancel my membership. However, due to popular demand and not enough bikes i cant even get into the class. Its hit or miss. Also, sometime in December the booking changed from 7 days prior to 8 days prior and we were never notified. I couldn’t get into the class and it kept saying it was booked and i had not idea why and that is when i left several messages for the manager to call me but he never did. Extremely frustrated and disappointed customer!!! ### 1/5 — Monterey location 12/27/25 *2025-12-27, version 7.1* The gym was closed and there is no sign saying why it’s closed today. Is it really closed or did someone not show up to work? I hate that members are paying to use the gym and we can’t use it because it’s not open today and there’s no notification as to why? Can members get some kind of discount or something because this is not right and unprofessional. And something happened and I did not go to that gym for 2 months. They charged me $177 and I went there to talk to them to understand and at least lower my price. They never did. It’s terrible experience as a new customer. The facility is always clean, neat, and well-organized, which makes every workout enjoyable. The staff does a great job keeping the equipment and workout areas in excellent condition, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. One of my favorite things is the wide variety of fitness classes offered throughout the day. There are plenty of class times to fit my schedule, making it easy to stay consistent with my workouts. Before joining In-Shape, I was a member at 24 Hour Fitness in Lancaster. Unfortunately, over the years it became increasingly crowded and the overall atmosphere wasn’t as enjoyable for me (way too ghetto). Switching to In-Shape has been a great decision. It’s a much more comfortable place to work out, and I actually look forward to going to the gym now. If you’re looking for a clean, well-managed fitness center with excellent class options and a positive environment, I highly recommend In-Shape Fitness. ### 5/5 — Nice Facility *2026-07-17, version 26.2.1* The club is very clean.
