Why are apps still available if they’re no longer being used.? Shouldn’t they be removed from the App Store after a certain amount of time? ### 3/5 — Good but *2018-06-26, version 4.7.3* Is a very good app, but it needs a little work especially for the blind community. I need to be a little bit more voiceover accessibility for iPhones. When I open up the app when there is an alert my volume turned down and I had to put the phone up to my ear to hear it and navigate on the screen. This does not help me very much. I tried setting up the app and it crashes when opens. In practice, it’s been less than useful with alerts that require opening the app to silence, and the app being unresponsive with no displayed message to go with the alert until some time later. There needs to be a better message and alert handling method, as it stands, this app can’t be relied upon for the informational alerts it claims to be for. ### 1/5 — Boo! *2018-05-09, version 4.7.1* App support link on the App Store page goes to a dead link. Anyway I downloaded this app last year. I took off all the notifications. This morning as it was storming, my phone was making thunder sounds. It went on for ten minutes. I pulled down my bifurcation screen on my iPhone. No notifications. It was 6:30 in the morning when my phone is on do not disturb. It wouldn’t stop. I removed this app from my going and it finally went away. You guys gotten fix this big. Not cool. It’s raining!! So what! My phone starts making these awful loud thundering noises and the only way I could get it to stop was to delete the app! Plus, every time I drive into a new area it subscribes me to that area. I don’t care about their weather! When I clicked on app support it went to “404 page not found.” Please fix! ### 1/5 — Crashes on older devices *2017-12-29, version 4.5.7* My two older devices meet the requirements for hardware and iOS yet both crash while trying to register, ie shortly after window opens and before any information is entered. Oh well. ### 3/5 — Needs a little structure! *2017-12-23, version 4.5.7* App is great in concept! But the issues I see with this app is messages are sent out with information that isn’t quite necessary. For example, “ general weather forecast” I can get this information from my local weather news station or from other applications. Another is the same alert sent multiple times with same information which had already been sent. Another I feel is occurring is information that is not even information just “tips”. I think there has to be a structure like I think people would want real emergency information rather than “tips” or general weather information. I feel the app is becoming more like an junk email service or like scrolling through my Facebook feed. So, what I mean by structure is that community leaders should only be sending real emergency information. This is what the app is supposed todo not just random messages. I get random unnecessary information rather something important like a tornado watch or warning. This I feel is a better use of this app. ### 1/5 — Keeps closing and can't open *2017-11-16, version 4.5.3* Loved this app when I first downloaded it. But when a pop up kept coming up to update it I did. Now I can't open the app anymore. Keeps shutting down. Deleted it and tried to download again but same problem. ### 1/5 — Don't bother. *2017-11-03, version 4.5.2* I have tried to log into this app more than 100 times since I downloaded it yesterday. Every single time it shuts down before I can complete the sign in process. I've even had the app email me a login and password they created for me but the app won't stay open long enough to use the information. Thoroughly annoyed. ### 1/5 — Poor UI, can’t prevent auto-subscribe to areas *2017-10-17, version 4.5.1* As another reviewer mentioned, actual information is buried in the UI, and navigation doesn’t appear to follow any logic, so it’s easy to get lost once you go past first-layer options. What’s worse, it auto-subscribes you to places you’ve been, so if you’re driving, you get subscribed to places you may never be again, and there’s no way to turn this off. Now it decides to spam multiple times a day with “ free $500 drawings” push notifications. It pushes sound alerts that cannot be turned off once they start without force killing the app. It would be deleted months ago but one of the important facebook groups I follow uses it and pushes their posts on this first before posting tho their page. -Update the layout to look like 2018 not 2008. - stop the spam. - fix the sound alerts so they could be silenced like all other apps. ### 1/5 — Review *2018-09-03, version 4.8* This app is very hard to understand, follow and it is not very user friendly. Trying to update is a nightmare. I don’t know how to. I hit update now, and it opens up in the App Store. But from there I’m lost. It has no where to say download new version. This entire app is totally user UNFRIENDLY ### 1/5 — Needs complete design overhaul. *2018-06-27, version 4.7.3* EDIT: 6/27/18 App FC all the time and freezes. The link they email you when you click “forgot my password” is always invalid. I had to guess my password over a period of 2 days. I don’t know why nobody will take care of this app. It’s awful. The concept is fine. But the layout and UI of this app are messy and redundant. It’s hard to read, not intuitive at all. Most of the menu buttons can be condensed into a sidebar. The actual area for displaying a message is about the size of a postage stamp, while the whole rest of the screen is buttons and ads. The design of this looks like the app I designed with my high school class for my iPhone 4 in 2010. ### 1/5 — so annoying *2018-05-17, version 4.7.2* this app sends out alerts which cannot be silenced without opening the app - then when you do open it just spins and doesn’t show what the alert was for in the first place... also last week when my area was under a tornado warning, it sent no alerts. ### 1/5 — Needs to work *2018-05-13, version 4.7.2* When I get the alert I click on it and the app opens with the spinning wheel that doesn’t do anything and never see the alert that the notification was for. ### 1/5 — Don’t use this for emergency alerts! *2018-05-12, version 4.7.2* I follow a local weather group that dose amazing forecasting and will get alerts out before the national weather center however, I can never read the alerts or discussions when they come out. I have to clear the alert so my phone stops ringing and then wait 20+ mins open and close the app several times and then will be able to read what was put out. So if you are using this app for emergency alerts then you will be in the heart of the danger before you could read what is going on. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best emergency communication app! *2023-11-03* I love this app! I get easily overwhelmed by the large amount of daily push notifications I receive on my phone. I love that this app breaks through my silent switch and DND mode notifying me of critical and time-sensitive information, aka the info I want and need to read!! The USGS earthquake alerts are especially helpful living in CA. I learn about earthquakes through In-telligent faster than any other app or news source. It’s great to know what is coming and how to plan. I also love the other features such as alerts when there are earthquakes or other disasters, or traffic accidents, etc., etc. I have only one small wish: it would be great if there was a function to clear out/delete old messages from the inbox all at once, rather than having to delete messages one at a time. I travel for work and when I returned home 48 hours later, I had almost 20 messages and had to delete them one by one.
