## What is In The Keys?

In The Keys is an inviting practice journal for the piano. It is the room where you actually sit down to work — warm and unhurried, with the patience of a good teacher. You plan what to practice, log each time you play it, and watch the long view take shape at your own tempo.

The room follows the light of your day. A single warm light source moves from pale dawn to full daylight to candlelit night, so the app feels like an evening at the keys when you practice in the evening. There are no streaks to keep, no debt to repay, and nothing is ever shown as something you failed to do. Each week is a fresh page.

WHAT IT IS

A quiet place to organise your practice and reflect on it.

• Build a Routine — a top-level practice plan, like "Morning Technique" or "Bach Recital Prep".
• Group your work into Sections, such as warm-ups and repertoire.
• Add Studies — the individual pieces and technical work you return to.
• Keep your Repertoire and your technical work side by side, each with its own history.

THE PRACTICE LOOP

• Sit down for a Pass — one logged time through a Study — with a gentle session timer.
• Note the tempo and key you worked in, and leave a few words for next time.
• Name a Passage when you drilled one span of a piece — "the development", "bars 17–32" — or leave the whole piece as the default.
• Let The Story keep the long view: how a piece has settled over many Passes, and the quiet milestones along the way.

WORK TOWARD A PROGRAM

Point your pieces at a Program — a dated recital you are preparing for — and see the pieces gather toward the day. Once it is performed, the Program becomes a keepsake of the season.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your practice stays yours. In The Keys keeps everything in your own private iCloud, syncing across your iPhone and iPad with no account to create and no sign-in. There is no separate server and no advertising. The only data the app gathers is privacy-preserving, anonymous product analytics through TelemetryDeck — no personal information, no tracking, no profile of you.

In The Keys is free to use for your everyday practice. In The Keys Pro opens the full room:

• Unlimited Routines.
• The full library of practice templates to start from.
• Tempo insights — the sparkline and your full history, beyond your most recent Passes.

• Plan your Sittings ahead, and share a typeset card of a season when it is done.

In The Keys Pro is an auto-renewing subscription — US$2.99/month or US$29.99/year. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. This update brings your scores into the room.

Link a study to its score in forScore for quick and easy access when working through your routine or a pass. On iPad, drag a score straight from forScore to attach it. Once a link is set, you can edit it any time. Save time entering a title for your study and use the title from forScore after a drag and drop.

A few other things got quieter and clearer: deleting a Study is now a plain option in its editor, the score section stays out of the way until you attach something, and a Passage-scoped Pass in your recent history now says so.
