In the Name of the Park turns a walk in the city into a quiet collecting ritual. When you come within 500 metres of a park you haven't visited, the app gives you a gentle nudge — no streaks, no pressure, just a tap on the shoulder when something beautiful is nearby.

Step into the park, tap once, and a soft pixel-art card is yours: the park's name in three languages, a short two-voice poem (the place's own language, beside yours), and a tiny scene drawn by hand. Over weeks and months you fill a personal catalogue of the parks you've walked through.

New in this version

Two new parks, suggested by you
Meilahti Arboretum, the city's teaching garden since 1967, and
Roineenpuisto in Vallila, where white hydrangeas grow on ground
that was a dog park before it was a park. 106 in the dex now.

A more precise map
Park locations now come straight from the city's own park data, so
every pin sits inside the park it names.

A park with its proper name
Katajanokanpuisto has officially been Tove Janssonin puisto since
2014 — Tove grew up at its corner, on Luotsikatu. The card says so
now.

Helsinki locals wrote in, and we walked out to look: Viikki
Arboretum, Kauppalanpuisto, Mätäjoki Valley and the Haaga
Rhododendron Park have joined the dex — 105 parks now.

Your language, on every card
Park cards now show each park's Finnish name alongside your chosen
language. Poems, dates and notifications follow along — the whole
app speaks one language: yours.

Postcards, polished
Shared cards now carry the app's name in your language and a cleaner
footer. Small things — but a postcard should be right.
