However…… My experience: I would suggest downloading the official AA or Ala-non app instead of this one. This “in the rooms” app ‘shared’ my information (info that was required for me to register to even see meetings.) I know for sure that they provided (sold, I’m guessing) at least my email address to The University of New Mexico AND Washington University in St Louis School of Medicine, who are looking for participants to partake in “addiction research studies.” I’m disappointed, and now concerned for whom else was able to obtain my info from this app. People should be allowed to seek help and heal in privacy, the point of the second ‘A’ In “AA.” Also-not everyone who uses this app is an addict, some of us have loved ones whom are addicts, but still need the support and wisdom of the Ala-non community, so I wouldn’t be of much help with addiction research. *I am reasonable enough to note that, while I don’t recall there being one, there could have been a legal disclaimer when registering that they would provide my info to outside sources, and I could have just skipped right through that in haste to find a meeting. However, I would bargain to say that a large percentage of people who are seeking out those meetings are likely in an emotional state and not reading fine print. The app itself: a little confusing at first, kinda glitchy. I preferred the official apps to this one, but if you need a meeting I don’t want to sway you from one. The password is good because I can sign into the website but you can’t join a meeting from the website. ### 1/5 — This app has a lot of potential but… *2022-01-27, version 1.4* I downloaded this app when I had Covid to try and find some online meetings since they seemed scarce in my area. It was suggested to me by several people in a Facebook group I’m a member of, but unless I happen to log on right when a meeting is starting, the app is basically worthless other than the Daily Meditation on the homepage. 1) when trying to edit my profile I cannot get my city and zip code to stay despite hitting “save”. When I X out and go back in it’s gone 2) when trying to choose my fellowship in my profile, it Xes out if the app completely 3) “Remind me” settings don’t stay on when I move away from that page. If I go back to the Home Screen then come back to the list of Online meetings, none of the “Remind me” settings are turned on 4) I have never received a notification from this app despite having my notification settings turned on in the app and in my Settings on my phone, and trying to turn on the “Remind me” settings for specific meetings in the app (probably due to complaint #3) Like I said in the title of this review, this app has a ton of potential, but is absolutely worthless until they get all of the bugs worked out… ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2022-01-24, version 1.4* Sharer box won’t load most of the time. ### 2/5 — Great as Audio Only on iPhone *2022-01-09, version 1.4* Whenever I can’t sit in front of my computer and want to attend a meeting on my iPad or iPhone, the only way I can do that is to put in my AirPods and listen, like a podcast! That is if I’m lucky enough to hear the people who share as there seems to be a glitch with this app because the leader can hear and see them. I prefer to sit at my computer without distractions and really concentrate on the meeting. Being able to join in to any meeting at any time at any place in the world is fantastic, especially if you find it difficult to get to face to face local meetings, and especially during these lockdown times... I would love this app to have a landscape version on the tablets, as it’s currently only available in portrait version... Also a laptop version would be amazing.
