Put in my info and hit “Next.” Nothing happens so this app is useless. Now It says my email and username were not found. It was buggy, one day it wasn’t loading my account correctly it just had 9999 in the points section. Sometimes the start now button wouldn’t work, but it would track the trip any ways if I left the app and selected trip on. Today my account no longer exists. It was signed out when I opened the app and when I tried to reset password it said my account didn’t exist. Created a new one and when I tried to sign in it says the account is not active. No email confirming that the account was created. I’m pretty annoyed because my points are likely all gone. This app also uses TAX payer dollars (federally grant funded) to operate and it’s basically junk/scam. ### 2/5 — Good concept but buggy *2020-02-07, version 0.9.079* This app works sometimes. It’s very fickle. Customer service is responsive and pleasant but I’ve had to write 4 or 5 times in six months with different issues. It also will drain your battery about twice as fast as normal. But it’s free money, so... ### 1/5 — Intent is good, but.... *2020-01-31, version 0.9.078* So far, the app has recorded exactly one trip, and won’t record any more, either actively or passively. It also suggested I take the Circulator the wrong way across the city to Union Station and then drive to my house from there, instead of taking the 20 min bus ride that goes right from my work to home. Currently it shows no trips, 99999 reward points, and has eaten most of my battery in 6 hours. ### 2/5 — Can’t even register *2020-01-31, version 0.9.078* The application doesn’t allow me to even register. Needs some major upgrades, feels very beta ### 1/5 — Love the concept, but the app is buggy *2020-01-31, version 0.9.078* I found out about this app from one of the local newsletters I read, and I immediately signed up for it! I really want to love it but it’s so hard to use! I’ve experienced the route tracking losing track of me, not being able to start a trip (hitting “Start Now” several times to no avail and without any error throwing). As someone who loves taking public transportation to get around, the suggested routes were too prescriptive and I wish I could “mix and match” some more. ### 2/5 — Too Much Running in Background *2019-11-11, version 0.9.076* After I set location to always, after 24 hours the battery usage report said that the app had been running in the background for 23h39m of the prior 24 hours. Even Google Maps, which also has location set to always and has a timeline history of everywhere I’ve been and how I traveled there, only had 29m of usage for the prior 24 hours. It’s possible to track location well without being on 100% of the time—this app should be smarter about location tracking. ### 2/5 — Problematic *2019-10-18, version 0.9.074* So many issues. I take 10 transit commute trips each week at the same times (within 10 minutes or so) every day. Each week it refuses to accept some of those trips in the weekly goals section. Further, it will often award less points than normal because it decides my trip is non-commute Or it will award zero because it claims I didn't actually take the planned route. Either the app is incredibly buggy or written to intentionally behave like this so you can't accumulate points. ### 2/5 — Account inactive or failed to register *2019-10-07, version 0.9.073* I thought I was the only one who have the issue. Nope. Many people are experiencing the same problem. I usually bike to work and have been using incentrip for a while. It was good until one day I tried to login and it said my account was not active. Same thing happened to my friends. A lot of them received an error message saying registration failed. Some of them tried to use commuter connections account to login, but the app crashed. I did reach out to the customer service. They said they will resolve the issue ASAP, but it have been two weeks and nothing happened. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Stupid poorly designed *2024-09-23, version 0.9.202* App designed by a stupid person. Multiple times my trip has been lost. Clearly part of earning any incentives with this program is dumb luck that the app will be working on any given day. To make this app function takes a lot of patience. One day it just stopped giving me points at all for the same trip and if I start a trip mid trip while I’m on the metro it gives the point but won’t register as a green trip toward the weekly challenge?? What’s the point of having this app as an “incentive” and it doesn’t work? ### 1/5 — Huge Disappointment in 2021 *2021-07-24, version 0.9.105* After allowing this app to track my every car trip, I get the bad news that the base rewards program is being suspended in August. 2021 already sucked because InCenTrip slashed points in half to ensure you wouldn’t reach 5,000 points easily. Using this app, I managed to earn three gift cards last year but this year, it turns out, I was giving all my location and travel info to InCenTrip for free since I’m not going to reach 5,000 points by August. ### 1/5 — Enough to make me a solo gas guzzler driver *2021-06-16, version 0.9.101* IF this app worked properly I would get good pocket money for riding transit and foregoing my car. IF. But it is a struggle to log trips. This app freezes right as a trip finishes and refuses to recognize log in credentials. It also refuses to register anything under a half mile, which is unfortunate because there are trips shorter than that that people choose to take by car, and as such, people walking and biking these trips SHOULD be given credit. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2020-07-21, version 0.9.082* This app fools people into thinking they will get some time of award and incentive if you use this app. Well it’s a lie. I used this app for at least 3 good months and I haven’t received anything after trying to redeem my incentive. I don’t know if this a scam app or want. Totally blows when it doesn’t. By far the worst and most frustrating app app on my phone. Only keep it because of the payouts which take forever to receive. Plan a trip, check another app and it dumps the trip you planned. Ok though, I am at the stop and still have a couple of minutes before departure... 3 out of 5 times won’t let you select the train coming in 3 minutes. Arrive at my destination, and if the app isn’t up and running, decent chance it dumps your trip or freezes with no points awarded.
