### 4/5 — Great but missing a few simple things

*2019-12-28*

Been using the free version for years but need to do calc for run, rise, diag. The app handles it easily but you can’t store the results or do further math with the results. For example. Calc the diag of 4x4s 8’ apart. Easy but now subtract the diag of the 4x4s to get the inside measurements. Can’t do that. Can’t even save either diag measurements. Need a good memory or paper and pen. Hopefully a future enhancement. Love the app anyway.

### 2/5 — Not bad, could be better

*2017-11-15*

There are a lot of great things about this app that I love. I love that it’s simple, easy to use, and for me, super handy.
The downside is I can see this app has not been updated to fit any screen since iPhone 4.
Also, there needs to be a back space. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve input the wrong measurement just to have to start all over again.
I think that would be a good start in fixing this app

**Developer response:** the PRO version, INCHCALC+, includes both "Clear Entry" & "Backspace" key -- hope that soles your issue

### 4/5 — Update!

*2016-11-06, version 2.0.1*

Love the app. Use it all the time but it's time for an update. Flatten it like iOS 7+ and take advantage of the 6/6 plus screen!!

### 3/5 — Update bug

*2012-06-18, version 1.7.1*

[v1.7.1] Latest update does not download from the app store on this iPhone 3GS. An err msg appears stating the app is no longer available.

[v1.6.1] Cute... But not a true professional tool. Lacks copy & paste function in display. No constant storage or memory.

### 3/5 — Not for carpenters

*2011-05-19, version 1.6.1*

I've had the free version and finally got the full version. I'm a carpenter and have always used a builders calculator for figuring roof pitches. I was very dissapointed that this app does not give you the pitch conversion in inch increments( ie 10 on 12). Instead it gives you a pitch in degrees. Totally useless for what I use it for.

### 3/5 — Update?

*2011-01-18, version 1.6.1*

Love the app, but how about an update? Had the app for 3 years - where's the iOS4 update/bug fix (doesn't save in memory after closing, always opens with a random number showing, Retina icon, etc)?? Please update, then back to 5 stars.

### 5/5 — Great!! Just one request...

*2011-01-14, version 1.6.1*

Love this app, always with me and works great. My request....provide access to a history page to double check input on longer strings.

### 5/5 — Indespensible

*2010-12-30, version 1.6.1*

As an architect I have always had a foot-inch calculator by my desk. This app is better. One of a very few apps I consider indispensable. Love it!

### 5/5 — Handy Calculator

*2010-10-31, version 0*

I've always wanted an inch-foot calculator, but just thought it would get lost or buried under the piles of stuff on my desk. Also, they're a bit pricey. The iPhone version is great- I always know where my phone is and it's not another gadget taking up space. I use it regularly at the office when checking dimensions. Recommended!

### 4/5 — Works as advertised..

*2010-08-22, version 0*

I still use my regular inch feet calculator because I like the feel of the tactile buttons. I would give 5 stars if the interface looked better.

### 5/5 — Great tool for use in the field or office

*2010-07-27*

This is a must for engineers, designers, architects, contractors, tradesmen or anyone working in construction related services. InchCALC+ replaces the expensive calculators which perform the same measurement functions but many times the cost. The best part is that it's on my iPhone along with other utility apps that I use in the field. I am an electrical engineer working on commercial and industrial projects and I use this tool often. I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — iPad,next to my CAD station

*2010-07-16*

This is just one of many apps on my iPad that adds to my efficiency when working on design projects. A foot/inch calculator comes in handy in the office and in the field. Having it on the iPad means one less pricy gadget to haul around and misplace, lose, or loan out and never see again. I highly recommend this app to other architects, and to engineers, builders, and anyone working with dimensions in feet and inches.

### 5/5 — Back to five stars

*2010-07-07, version 0*

I took the advice of another reviewer and deleted and reinstalled the app and now it's working again!! Would of been nice if they would of recommend that in the description.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashes IOS 14.2

*2020-11-19*

Developer please update app.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2020-11-16*

Paid $6.99 expecting this to be better than the other free apps. This was a waste of my money as a find the free apps work just as well and better.

### 1/5 — Don't ,They Broke It

*2018-05-01*

The Developer actually just responded to a 2 year old review that you can read below xD seriously ?

Great Bug Fixing
Had to reinstall the 1.7.4 version
As this Version does not recognize
the numbers 1,2 and 3 in landscape
on my mini2 retina
and GOD knows
(whatever god you subscribe to)
what else is broke if I can't even type
1,2 or 3 into it...
Do not update (youve been warned)

**Developer response:** sounds like you have a corrupt file -- delete & reload -- Apple will not charge you for an App previously purchased

### 1/5 — Fix the borders!!!

*2015-12-13, version 1.7.6*

What's with the ridiculous blank borders on the bottom & top in portrait mode and on the right side in landscape mode; iPhone6? Have some pride in your work and fix this simple problem!! Thank you .

### 1/5 — Great app, but has a glitch

*2015-11-13, version 1.7.4*

On the iPad the landscape view never starts up right. I asked them about it it almost 2 years ago, and they acknowledged that it was a problem but they still haven't fixed it. I've asked them several times... Poor service of their part.

### 1/5 — Bad Update!

*2012-06-18, version 1.7.1*

One of favorite calculators before this update. Now it completely freezes in landscape mode, so is worthless to me.

### 1/5 — major bug

*2010-11-19*

when setting pressed for wright hander, calc fix and stay after restarting!

### 1/5 — Will not open! Please fix.

*2010-06-30, version 0*

I guess you all didn't know OS4 was coming out? Duh

### 1/5 — iOS4 Broke This App

*2010-06-29, version 0*

This was a great app; I used it all the time until I upgraded to iOS4. Now it won't even start.

### 1/5 — Don't do the upgrade

*2009-11-12, version 0*

Big waste of money when you up grade to the + version. Not enough difference in functions to warrent 4.99 charge.
The original is all you need. Don't fall for the trap!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best architectural calculator I found

*2023-07-01*

I have been using this app for years and it is by far the best I was able to find. None of the others have mastered the input of feet and inches. The calculations are smooth and the units convert so easily. Please, please continue making this available. I am happy to pay even again if you can add a tape like function and maybe make the vertical one with easier conversion settings now that our screens are often bigger.

This is my daily architectural calculator I never want to miss.

### 5/5 — Great converter

*2021-04-08*

I like this calculator. It is a great calculator to use as a converter between metric and imperial. Very practical and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Hands down best inch calculator on the App Store

*2017-01-24, version 2.0.3*

I have tried several different architectural calculators and this one is still my favorite for years. Only thing I would like to see added is a history view option, which would make it even better.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-01-24*

I love the function of this app... I haven't found anything else that does fractions as well. After some recent bug fixes, this is back to 5-stars. I wish there was a desktop version.

### 5/5 — InchCALC+

*2015-12-21, version 1.7.6*

A great app for architects…I’ve used inchCALC+ for years…the 12/12/15 update fixed issues I was having in landscape mode on my iPad…a responsive developer!!! Thanks.

### 5/5 — THE calculator for Architects

*2013-12-12, version 1.7.3*

This calculated replaced the old Measure Master that sat on my desk for decades. The rotate for additional functions is a great feature - allowing simple calculations in portrait and additional options (units, conversions, etc.) when rotated to landscape. My only two complaint's are: I wish they'd update the look for iOS 7, and I wish the buttons on the landscape screen where slightly larger targets.

### 5/5 — A great time saver

*2013-03-21, version 1.7.3*

Having grown up in Europe it's baffling to me that the architecture and construction industries in the U.S. still rely on feet and inches. But instead of fighting an uphill battle, I got with the program and bought the InchCALC app. Now with the app, calculations involving fractions are just about as efficient and painless as decimals and the metrics system.

### 5/5 — Don't hesitate!

*2013-02-12, version 1.7.2*

One of the top five apps I have and I have a bunch! Does everything I need for pretty much any construction job.

### 5/5 — I have all the Pro apps, and use this the most.

*2013-02-06*

Over the last 2 or 3 years, I've purchased (usually for $5 to $20) every "pro" construction or carpentry app I found that looked like a good possibility.
Because I have gotten used to doing a lot of the work in my head and visually, this is the app I go to the most for computation. I'm trying to clear out my iPhone, because of running out of space (too many apps), and I reviewed all my DIY app yesterday. Without studying the instructions again, inchCALC+ is the only one I can pick up and use without delay (read: "no learning curve"). If you are already using the hardware version of Construction Master on a daily basis, great. Otherwise, inchCALC+ is definitely the ticket for us mere mortals, VERY GOOD JOB!

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2011-04-01, version 1.6.1*

I work with pavers, patio stones, and retaining walls, building displays, and teaching the DIYers how to build correctly. This is so much nicer than my regular calculator, and the interface is simple. I always have my phone with me, and the $4.99 price tag is easy on the expense report. This is going to save me a ton of time and money. I would go so far to say that it's worth hundreds of times the price tag.
