### 2/5 — Great idea, bad service

*2026-08-18*

Just so unreliable. The app misleads as to how many bikes there are, if the electric have battery (they usually don’t), and even how many docks are available. It is ALWAYS wrong. They randomly move stations without any warning or notice. And what few stations there were in center city philadelphia, they are either full or empty. At best the bikes are heavy and clunky, but often something is wrong: low air on the tires, gears don’t change, seat won’t stay up. This company has poor maintenance and upkeep. Hope they get better but not holding my breath.

### 3/5 — Don’t get annual pass

*2026-07-25*

Annual pass allows you to ride classic bikes on a subscription basis. Only problem is, half the time stations have only electric bikes which you have to pay for like anyone else. Today, I wanted to bike somewhere and the 3 nearest stations had 0 classic bikes. When I wanted to return from my destination, all 4 classic bikes mysteriously were having errors but the electric bikes, which I have to pay extra for, didn’t. Feels like they just want us to pay more. Don’t get a subscription, you’ll end up riding electric bikes mostly anyways.

### 2/5 — Very expensive unreliable e-bikes

*2025-11-18*

If you want to bike in Philadelphia this is the only game in town. And you can tell it has no competition because of the poor condition of the bikes.

There is an annoying button that you have to press to turn on the e-bike, it is not automatic when you pedal. A couple of my bikes would never turn on or only for a short time. You have to push this button also to see how much charge before you select the bike there is no continuous display and you can’t tell in the app.

For sure this is the most expensive e-bike I have ever ridden at $0.30 a minute, or even with a “day” pass you pay 0.20 a minute AND if you are just sightseeing then over an hour you get extra fees on top of that.

Ultimately our few logout sightseeing having to swap out several bikes with a day pass cost over $50 PER rider.

Philadelphia needs some competition on e-bikes

If you want to bike use the standard bikes. A day pass is $25 as long as you swap it out every hour then $15 is the cost.

### 2/5 — Used to be amazing, now hit or miss

*2025-10-07*

I used to absolutely love Indego, but as they phase out the non-electric bikes it is getting worse and worse. The electric bikes don’t allow the seat to go high enough for me, and the app is often wrong about how much charge they have so I end up having to use a dead bike too small for me. Or they just die even when they show a full battery. I have to change bikes mid-ride more often than I’d like, and sometimes the station doesn’t recognize that they’ve docked and then I get stuck since I can’t get a new bike. All while charging extra for e-bikes. I just bought my own bike after a couple years of being an enthusiastic customer.

### 1/5 — Scam Fees

*2025-09-29, version 4.0.4*

App is extremely outdated compared to other scooter and bike rental services. It cannot adjust in real time to what you’re doing. You have to return the bike to a station every time to end a transaction. Your fees don’t show up until the next day. There’s no way to get your money back. Avoid using at all cost.

### 1/5 — Terrible company; no accountability

*2025-08-28*

Indego bikes is an absolute disgrace of a company and should have their business license revoked. The number of issues I have had with both their app and their bikes since signing up for a 12 month membership is insane.
I was hoping to use these bikes as my primary means of transportation in a city where public parking is either unavailable or too expensive. Indego has proven time and again how unreliable they are, and as long as Indego gets their $5 per ride they are completely happy to send their customers out on bikes that are completely unsafe into a city where reckless driving is the norm.
As for the app it is just as unreliable, often showing bikes available at a docking station when in fact there are none, or showing e-bikes with fully charged battery, only for you to find out when you get there that they’re actually completely dead.
Overall my experience with this company has been terrible and I would caution everyone who is considering an extended membership with this company. For a one off ride your 50/50 to experience some issues like this so just be careful.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-08-01, version 4.0.4*

Worst app I’ve ever been on I typed everything right for my password still wouldn’t let me in or email a reset password and I already paid for the ride wouldn’t ever use this app again

### 1/5 — Torture in app form

*2025-07-19, version 4.0.4*

This is the most frustrating app I have ever tried to use. You create an account, it provides a way for you to pay (and accepts your money), and then there is no way to log in, use the app, or rent a bike. I’m doing this with four other people having the exact same experience. How are these bikes being used by anyone ever? This is a shameful waste of money and time. If I could give negative 7,000 stars, I would.

### 1/5 — This app is TRASH

*2025-07-19, version 4.0.4*

Created a login, won’t let me use any bikes or even access my account, there is no customer support but it freely took my money!!

### 1/5 — Horrible service

*2025-06-25, version 4.0.4*

This company is a SCAM!!!!! I’ve had two separate occasions where they charged me $500 for them not being able to locate the bike. This company should be sued and their workers should be fired. They don’t cooperate at all. When they can’t find the bike you returned, they charge you mass amounts of money and basically tell you “to go find the bike or they can’t refund you”. Thats impossible. They will scam you too. Don’t use it

### 1/5 — scam

*2025-06-16, version 4.0.4*

Wouldnt expect anything less from a philly business.
They charged me $500 for a bike I returned! It wouldn't dock, a common problem so I took a picture of it docked and they ended the trip. 2 weeks later they charge my card $500 with no warning saying the bike is missing.

### 1/5 — Terrible user experience

*2025-06-01, version 4.0.4*

It says $4 but charges $.30 per minute and another $.30 if electric. Most of the time I spent riding was trying to find a doc that wasn’t full. It makes sense why they’re all full. No one uses them nor should they. I tried reaching out to them and they were not helpful and said I should’ve let them know earlier that their docs were full. I would’ve loved nothing more than to be desperately finding a place to doc while dealing with tech support only to get nowhere. Terrible experience. Should’ve ubered.

### 2/5 — Good when it works

*2025-04-29, version 4.0.4*

I personally wouldn’t rely on it, it’s okay when it works. But the constant buggy app is a turn off. Also, don’t forget that sometimes the dock won’t register you putting the bike back. So there’s the off chance you’ll be charged the entire day.

You must do your due diligence and triple confirm.

### 1/5 — You even get the bikes

*2025-04-10, version 4.0.3*

You’ll spend all this money and time for bikes that won’t come out of the dock 80% of the time

### 1/5 — 300$ for a bike that’s Indego

*2025-03-26*

Don’t believe this if you work because obviously you could just get a bike. Indego will charge you 300$ out of nowhere. Be careful, there are many broken ghost docks that eat your money. Get a scooter and bike instead. Alibaba 40$ a bike. If you lose it, you get another 40$ instead. I paid Indego annually 100$ + for 2 years. Now because a ghost dock, they charge you 300$ for the reason “this is cheaper the original cost”, ? Cheaper? I specialize in sourcing. I could just buy an electric scooter honestly. Very disappointed for a frequent user.

### 1/5 — Misleading pricing strategy

*2025-03-18, version 4.0.2*

A 38 min ride end up costing almost 15. Bikes are trash and heavy, all batteries are close to 0, overcharges and not clear about pricing. Do not recommend, just take an uber it's cheaper.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Customer service is the worst

*2026-07-02*

I tried to make an account and got an email from “ITadmin” saying they needed some info from me to authenticate my account and to respond to this email. I respond to the email and don’t get an answer for 5 months until I, again, try to use this service. I call customer service number who are the most inadequate, unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with. First Lady hung up on me after telling me to respond to the email again. The next day I call back and get a man and he tells me that I still haven’t responded to the email, which I just responded to again the day prior. Then it turns out I shouldn’t have been replying to “ITadmin” even though it says to do so in the email, but I should use the support email which no one ever told me to use. The whole ordeal to rent a $5 bike is ridiculous and the customer service people are rude and do nothing to help the situation.

### 1/5 — cancel

*2026-04-29, version 4.0.4*

Wouldn’t let me end my ride and then when i was trying to report the issue the app wouldn’t allow me to send a report.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate Dock Maps

*2026-03-11, version 4.0.4*

Great quality bikes but low quality app. Took 4 stations before I found one with an available dock, despite the map showing availability. Ended up being slower than walking.

### 1/5 — Debit card + Apple Pay no good in 2026?

*2026-03-10, version 4.0.4*

Title

### 1/5 — Least intuitive app to rent bike

*2026-03-09, version 4.0.4*

This app is so absurdly bad that it makes me want to take an uber to get home in the time it takes to figure out how to login and renew a pass

### 1/5 — Indego doesn't care about their customers

*2026-01-30, version 4.0.4*

I've been using Indego for over a year now, and they charged me a $500 fee over docking my bike partially. I could not dock it fully as there was snow/ice frozen over the bike station. The customer service is usually understanding, but clearly not this time.

Additionally, most days the Ebikes have very little to no charge, and you'll be lucky to find a station to dock your bike when you get to your destination. Their quality of services has seriously been going down.

Happy to say that I won't be using Indego again.
Tldr: AVOID THEM IF YOU DONT WANT RANDOM FEES CHARGED TO YOUR ACCOUNT

### 1/5 — Experiência ruim

*2025-11-24*

Não gostei, extremamente difícil para devolver, minha primeira e única experiência não foi boa, só me atrapalhou.

### 1/5 — Extremely Awful

*2025-11-08, version 4.0.4*

No clear instructions and not intuitive to use at all. Do not recommend. Bikes do not work!!

### 1/5 — Update your map in real time

*2025-10-23, version 4.0.4*

There’s no point of claiming to have a real time app if the only way you show stations as down is if someone actually attempts and fails to check out at a station. Drove to a different one under time pressure. 100% full. 100% fail. No one to talk to.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2025-10-11, version 4.0.4*

Extremely frustrating to sign up/ buy passes/ use. Dock info never up to date, spent an hour trying to find an open dock despite many showing in app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great service. If you want better expect to pay more :p

*2026-02-01*

People here complain about anything. App is very stable and you can always get a classic or e bike when needed or wherever in center city and surrounding areas. Just realize that some amount of classic bikes have broken shifters and some e bikes don’t have stated amount of batteries. But for $20 a month (1 hr unlimited classic rentals) what more do you want to ask for.

### 5/5 — Tronta Pounds

*2025-10-17, version 4.0.4*

Great company, great service, please add more customized bike if you can! 😸👍🏼

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-09-30, version 4.0.4*

Easy system. Lots of stations to choose from. Some bikes are better than others. Overall I love it.

### 5/5 — Easy to work

*2025-09-06*

So far I’ve been using them for about three months and I’ve only had a couple issues that were resolved in a decent amount of time and they do get back to you and it’s very easy to use as long as you follow all the instructions. Very convenient to have in the city. Especially to have as a good date or to get somewhere quickly.

### 5/5 — More non-electric bikes please

*2024-12-13, version 3.1.3*

Personally, I prefer to get some exercise using an unpowered bike. But electric bikes are the majority of bikes available.

### 5/5 — Great system!

*2024-08-01, version 3.1.1*

Love the bike system, and it’s very useful without many issues. I wish there were fewer electric bikes relative to the number of normal ones- sometimes there are only 10 electric bikes at a station and no normal ones, and I don’t want to pay the additional fee required to use an electric one.

### 5/5 — Lucky Philadelphia

*2023-08-29*

Indego is a top notch bikeshare service! This is exactly the same convenience that the best bikeshares like the one in Paris offer! I use the bike mostly to commute between my office and 30th Street Station, but I also take the bike around Philly. The app while not fancy has never failed me. They email you confirmations for everything to ensure that you don’t make any mistakes. The cost is so amazing too! I am so grateful for Indego!

### 5/5 — Respects woo It

*2023-08-28, version 2.8.0*

Err reddf F see ppltha see

### 5/5 — Feature request:

*2023-08-28*

I would love if there was a way get Apple Maps directions when looking at any station in the app

I often have to manually search the address of the station I’m riding to in Apple Maps where it would be a lot more convenient to just have a button redirect you to Apple Maps with the directions to the station’s address you were looking at

As for a general review of the app, it works pretty well for the most part with the exceptions of some small bugs like text overflowing from the view it’s in or the “All”, “Bikes”, “Docks” segment buttons sometimes being replaced by another button

### 5/5 — Great and convenient

*2023-07-14, version 2.8.0*

Great way to save on parking and driving in the city
