### 5/5 — A Better Bluesky App with Bonus Mastodon!

*2026-07-10*

Indigo is an early app, still in active development with features and improvements being added each update, but it has already replaced the Bluesky app as my daily social media reader. Reliably remembering my place in the timeline is huge, and it does it across devices while keeping scrolling smooth. Reply threading is both understandable and stylish. I’d have subscribed for the better Bluesky experience alone. Getting a combined bsky and Mastodon timeline with smart, easy handling of crossposts makes Indigo by far my favorite social media reader since Tweetbot back in the before times.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-10*

If you use both of these services, then it didn’ doesn’t get much better than Indigo. Heck even if you only use one of these services, it’s a better experience than the default client apps.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-07-10*

This app brings the best of Bluesky and Mastodon into one beautiful, clean and modern app. The devs are working hard to add new features and make improvements at a rapid pace. If you use both of these services (or even just one), Indigo is a no-brainer!

### 5/5 — Best Bluesky client, close second Mastodon client

*2026-07-10*

Ivory is perfect for anyone straddling Mastodon and Bluesky. If you only use one, it may still be worth it. Not as polished as Ivory but has all the features you need in a great design. Only way it can really improve is just adding stability and adding customization. Great app!

### 5/5 — Compelling client for the best of both social media worlds

*2026-07-10*

Okay, maybe I wouldn’t go that far, but if you’re using Bluesky and Mastodon, Indigo lets you do both at once, including crossposts, in style!

### 5/5 — First Bluesky client to satisfy me

*2026-07-09*

What I wanted from a client was what I used to get in the old Twitter days from Tweetbot etc. synched timelines, unread counter, open at first unread message etc
And they keep improving it almost weekly. Handed over my money as fast as I could

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-09*

I've tried a bunch of the blended apps for using bsky and Mastodon, and this is the best. It's opinionated enough that you don't feel like you're doing a "make your own social media app" construction kit, it's fast, it supports the essential features. Strongly recommend.

### 5/5 — 10/10 right outta the gate

*2026-07-09*

Love supporting indie developers and they’ve tackled a really interesting challenge (unified timeline for Bluesky and Mastodon). It’s been so nice to be able to see/interact with people from both communities. Keep up the solid work!

**Developer response:** And we love being supported, thank you!

### 5/5 — My client of choice

*2026-07-09*

Running my BlueSky and Mastodon accounts with this app is such a huge time saver for me. Liking/reposting across both networks is a killer feature, on top of the combined feed and cross posting with mentions. Strong recommend!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-09*

Great App

### 5/5 — Simply great!

*2026-07-08*

If you use both Mastodon and BlueSky, this client brings both together into a beautifully designed app. It’s even great if you only use one of those.

### 5/5 — Two Socials One App

*2026-07-08*

I’ve attempted various bridge solutions to achieve single-client dual-protocol in the past, but nothing worked well enough to even use begrudgingly, let alone to daily drive. Indigo is the first unified experience I’ve found compelling, so much so that I’ve stopped using my protocol specific clients and am now an Indigo main. Despite being relatively new, the app is already more than sufficiently capable to be my primary client for both networks. The steady pace of improvements and fixes is hugely encouraging and appreciated. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

### 5/5 — Actively getting better

*2026-07-08*

Great out of the box, but continuing to get lots of regular improvements to make it now replace my other clients.

### 5/5 — Social with finesse.

*2026-07-08*

This is the best way to hang out on the open social web. No borders. Extra style.

### 5/5 — This is the app you’ve been looking for

*2026-07-08*

Wonderful. I’d been looking for something to be able to view and post to both my Mastodon timeline (tech, science, etc) and my BlueSky timeline (sports, pop culture, etc).

### 5/5 — Good start, and a lot fixes later 😃

*2026-06-30*

I really like the UI Design and its now finally one of the best Bluesky Apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad.
Keep moving forward

**Developer response:** Hey, just letting you know that the issue with posting GIFs should be fixed in the latest version (1.2.1) released earlier today. We’d love it if you could update your review if it’s working for you!

### 5/5 — Best way of browsing either network

*2026-06-28*

This app is so good it’s better than the official clients, so well worth using even if you don’t need the cross-network functionality.

My favourite thing is that it gives me timeline syncing across devices with the unread count

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You have to pay to comment

*2026-06-07*

Scam.

### 1/5 — You can only post if you buy the subscription

*2026-05-16*

.

**Developer response:** Indigo is intended to be a premium experience. To keep the experience simple and intuitive, we decided that the app would be free to use in a “read only” mode, but to post or interact with posts would require payment.

### 3/5 — Very limited options without subscription

*2026-06-09*

The app looks promising but it should not be advertised as the free app since everything is behind a paywall. Dev please make it a paid to install or at least add disclaimer in onboarding before signing in the app

**Developer response:** Unfortunately, there’s no way for an app that uses subscriptions to be a paid install. But I completely agree, the App Store should do a much better job of making the payment model clear on the product page.

### 4/5 — Good app in many ways, but —

*2026-08-06*

The “paired profiles” feature, without any permission from me, incorrectly paired literally dozens of people I follow with one another, people who absolutely are not the same person, nor do they resemble each other in any way. It’s comically bad.

Until and unless it actually works, there should be a clear way to simply disable this feature wholesale.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback Patrick. You can swipe on incorrectly paired profiles to remove them. And we’re working on a system for manual pairing in the next update.

### 4/5 — Finally

*2026-07-10*

I’m so glad there’s finally an app to be on both major post-Twitter networks. Elegant, simple, and nice. Performance could do with some work but it’s a treat having one unified timeline.

### 4/5 — Fantastic app

*2026-05-20*

Great app so far! A better Bluesky client than the official app, and it keeps me from neglecting my Mastodon feed. Developers responded to my complaint about the text size being too small on the Mac extremely quickly. Leaving one star for improvement I am confident I will see.

**Developer response:** Hey J, we’ve made a bunch of improvements to the app over the last month, including better scroll performance, and increased text size options on the Mac. I thought I’d give you a nudge and see if you think we’ve earned that last star yet? :D

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2026-05-15*

Just needs custom lists and smoother scrolling/animations to be a ten out of ten app, I love how beautiful it is and I trust it will get even better over time

**Developer response:** We made scroll performance way, way better in Indigo 1.2 which we released over the weekend! I thought I’d give you a nudge and see if we’ve earned that missing star? :D

### 4/5 — Pretty polished

*2026-05-12*

Very impressed with the 1.0! Nice syncing between all platforms. My main complaint is the number of unreads bubble looks really bad.

**Developer response:** If you want to reach out to support@soapboxsoftware.net, we’d love to hear more about what your issues are with the unread indicators

### 5/5 — Das hat wirklich Potential

*2026-08-24*

### 5/5 — Great app for filtering Reddit and very responsive developer

*2026-07-26*

The app does what it does very well and the developer is very responsive to feature requests.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Incredible Consolidated Bluesky/Mastodon Reader

*2026-07-13*

If you read Bluesky and Mastodon this app is incredible. Smart design choices and optimized for iOS and iPadOS. I moved from a competing product after it kept losing the timeline position and struggled over the last month maintaining Bluesky authentication.

### 5/5 — Everything I wanted

*2026-07-13*

Went from barely using both Bluesky and mastodon to checking both regularly! Great app, responsive updates, no complaints!

### 5/5 — Sync timelines and across devices FTW

*2026-07-12*

You had me at syncing across devices and I have been waiting for that for SO LONG. I often switch between iPad at home and iOS during the day and it’s so nice to have either pick up where I left off.

**Developer response:** Syncing between devices was a non-negotiable day one feature! Glad you’re enjoying it

### 5/5 — O melhor dos mundos

*2026-07-12*

Excelente proposta! Funciona muito bem!

### 5/5 — Tina says it’s Simply the Best

*2026-07-12*

I’ve tried many Mastodon clients and this is the only one which hasn’t left me wishing for features. The inline translations are super nice. The UI is clean and doesn’t get in the way of the task at hand. If I had one gripe it’s the lack of sound effects (guess I’m a sci-fi geek) when performing actions like boosting or liking/favouriting posts.

### 5/5 — Beautifully crafted, responsive devs

*2026-07-12*

Indigo does just what I needed from an app: lets me manage multiple Mastodon and Bluesky accounts, and post to several at once. And it does this all with a fantastically, deliciously iOS interface. Cannot recommend it enough!

### 5/5 — Cross-platform FTW

*2026-07-11*

With connections spread between Mastodon and Bluesky this is the app I’ve been waiting for – and it works great! There are minor hiccups now and then, but they get fixed quickly and I don’t hesitate in recommending Indigo.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-07-10*

A fantastic app for using both Mastodon and Bluesky! Plenty of features, and developed by a proven and reliable developer. Highly recommend if you use one or both of these platforms!
