The ability to import would be nice. ### 4/5 — Good, but connection issues *2024-10-29, version 3.0.0* This version of Touch works as well for me as the 2.xx versions with one exception: when the app connects via Bonjour something happens to the png files. It can’t find some and others are the wrong sizes. The web page version displays normally. I resolved this by manually entering the database file via https. Is Touch finding a previous version of the database via Bonjour? I looked on both my iPad and the Mac mini server without finding one. I tossed all previous versions of Indigo and their app support files. I also tossed all affected png files from the device folder and reentered. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2024-04-15, version 2.1.2* With the upgrade to the latest version, voice controls do not work with the companion app, Indigo Touch. Supposidly there's a workaround but I haven't been able to get that working. I just wish they’d give it a small update because its UI doesn’t fill the screen on modern iPhones. ### 2/5 — In dire need of updating *2022-10-07, version 2.1.2* I used to use this app all the time starting 10 years ago when there wasn’t much competition in the Home Automation space for iOS. Unfortunately, the developers have more or less abandoned this app and have not updated it since before the iPhone X. So it looks old and doesn’t even fill the screen properly. It’s a real bummer, because as I said, it was once very useful, but as it is right now, it’s hopelessly out of date. I hope the developers read this review and realize that the clock is ticking. They are going to be out of business soon if they don’t get their act together, because other offerings in the automation space are simply far superior. ### 2/5 — Completely neglected *2022-09-26, version 2.1.2* Look at the version history. This app was updated 5 years ago. Meanwhile Indigo began a subscription model years ago. So now you’re locked into paying yearly for Indigo and this app which literally still doesn’t fill any iPhone screen larger than an 8. Indigo is a small operation which does what it does well and the developers are smart, helpful and responsive. But I really think it’s shameful how little attention this app has gotten. They say they users would rather they focus on voice control through Alexa/Siri etc but, even all these years later, the interface for smart assistants is both tricky and rudimentary. And in the meantime this app is woefully outdated. It works but there are no widgets, no Siri or Shortcuts hooks, nothing worthy of a modern home automation system. It’s a total drag. ### 3/5 — Good but needs updates *2020-07-27, version 2.1.2* I’ve been using Indigo home automation for many years now and it is by far the most flexible solution. On the market. There is practically nothing you can’t do with it if you have the time and knowledge required. The one thing I would say is that that Indigo touch could do with updates. It has been over three years since the last one and that simply does not give a good feeling of further development as well as providing value for the solution overall. It certainly isn’t cheap. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the lack of ability to use the entire iPhone X screen. ### 3/5 — Apple Watch *2019-01-15, version 2.1.2* Apple Watch is no longer supported. Actually it hasn’t been supported for some time and I was waiting patiently for an update. My patience is running out. Come on Home Remote. ### 5/5 — Perfect app and support *2019-01-03, version 2.1.2* I use the app in conjunction with a complex home system with 50 or so switches, a dozen controllers, and 50 or so conditional schedules (evening lights on etc). The initial hardware (17 years ago) was X10 based, but about 50% has now been replaced by Insteon dimmer switches. Indigo perfectly supports this mixed technology allowing me a smooth and inexpensive transition. The app is very simple to use and works extremely well. The technical support team is fantastic. Both in their expertise and the responsiveness. The one thing I would recommend them to add is the Home Pod, Alexa, and Google voice interface for the app. Perhaps initially just HomePod as it is in the same echo system. Special kudos to Matt from the tech team who expertly debugged en error caused by another Mac that ran in the background an old and long forgotten Indigo server. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2018-11-15, version 2.1.2* Excellent, y a pas mieux, toutes plateformes confondues ! ### 5/5 — The best Z-Wave solution *2018-10-28, version 2.1.2* I’ve tried or bought most of the home automation hubs and systems over the years. X10 ByeByeStandby etc etc but Z-Wave has been by far the best. Hubs vary though and after Vera 3, Fibaro etc I tried Indigo and never look looked back. If you have a Mac it’s a no brainier choice. I’d go as far to say if you don’t it’s worth buying a second hand one to run this. ### 4/5 — Indispensable *2018-07-15, version 2.1.2* This app has become an indispensable part of my Home Automation system. I need to be able to see the values of a number of variables when I am away from the house, and this app allows me to do that. I kept hoping it would get better but it has only gotten worse. Let’s start with the fact that your Mac has to be running all the time for any of the functions ( lights off/on; lights dim, sprinkler on etc) to work. More than 90% of the time not all commands are executed. I’m never surprised anymore to see that my outdoor lights failed to turn on or off, that the lights don’t dim to the desired amount set in preferences and on and on. I completely switched from X10 to Z wave hoping that would resolve some of the command issues all to no avail. And should your Mac crash while I’ve out-nothing will turn off or on. I am slowly switching over to the Kasa system that doesn’t require a computer to run it as I am only doing simple on off and dim sequences. So far that system has performed flawlessly. Don’t waste your money or time with Indigo as it is not worth it ### 1/5 — Can cause a death! *2016-09-29, version 2.0.5* I hate it! People could die if dependent on the this. It says the light is on but is not. Other lights work but where I need it most it has shut down without any warning. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2015-12-21, version 2.0.5* While this app is free, the companion desktop app costs $200. And for that price, I have very high expectations, bug-free software. But this app can’t stay in-sync with my lights, making it simply not worth the price. Das iPhone 3G/s,4/4s ist nicht mehr so ganz "State of the Art“, die Darstellung ist (und war schon damals) lieblos (und das ist schon geschmeichelt) bis nutzlos. Their home automation software for the Mac is…. ok. Nothing special, certainly nothing great compared to the Windows home automation software, and only SLIGHTLY better than the open source stuff out there… for now. I’m exclusively Mac BTW,. They haven’t updated this iOS app in FOUR YEARS. It’s not the right size for the iPhone 5+ screens, and at the MINIMUM they could have added geolocation to the app that would work with their desktop software. I have to buy another service and do fairly complicated programming to know if I’m home or not? I can write an app that has geolocation features, and is the right size for the newer screens in literally under two hours. To right an app that works with their software it probably wouldn’t take more than 5 days at most since it’s just a layer on top of their web server software. I rarely write reviews, but I will never upgrade my software with this company again. This was state of the art four years ago. Every new home automation device you see that comes out is much, much more up to date, even considering all of the scripting and and advanced features Indigo has. If you’re downloading this app you obviously already have paid for Indigo. For power users. ### 5/5 — Very powerful, the best. *2024-02-19, version 2.1.2* I have been using Indigo for more than 10 years to control every system in my house, including lighting, alarm, HVAC, AV, irrigation, security, etc. It is very well-designed, incredibly powerful and completely reliable. It is by far the best home automation system control I’ve ever used, including the old corporate standbys of Crestron and Control4. Indigo is far more flexible and intuitive to program. The devs are continually growing and updating Indigo’s capabilities and there is a formidable community of users who also contribute greatly to the system by way of professionally functional plugin-ins that address many broad and niche uses for a wide variety of devices, the most I’ve ever seen. All the major control systems are compatible and fully integrated into Indigo. There are usually quick fixes and updates, although there are some issues that take time like the fix to get it working with iTunes 11. We completely depend on it, it’s amazing. Just buy whatever devices you need from Amazon and plug them into Indigo, which can run on a Mac Mini (suggested 2018 or newer) from anywhere in your house. No wiring or miss and fuss. Although, you might want a licensed electrician to install outlets and switches. Many devices plug into existing outlets or are battery powered.
