### 4/5 — Good app but issues

*2024-08-07, version 4.4.12*

Its a grate app and has helped me but when i payed for no adds it does not go to my other devices like it says, I thought it was tired to the log in but its not so that made me sad that i had to pay $16 instead of just $8

### 5/5 — It’s great for beginners!

*2024-07-25, version 4.4.12*

It is a great app for beginners learning Japanese! As someone who as been struggling with learning Japanese, I am thankful that I have found this app because it is very good with learning some basic words. It can’t help you become fluent but it CAN help you become more familiar with words, so if you are learning Japanese and you come across a word you learned on here, it will be way more easier for you!

### 5/5 — Fun and cute

*2024-07-13, version 4.4.11*

Spin on flash cards that is really cute

### 5/5 — Such an awesome app!

*2024-06-11, version 4.4.11*

Thank you so much for making this app! I only knew how to count to 3 in Japanese and now that I’ve had this app for about a day now, I’ve learned so much more within a day! The app is really fun and has a great way to help you remember the things you learn in the game. The game is simple and you’ll get the hang of it instantly. Then have fun learning the basics like learning how to count or what food is. The good thing about this app is, if you don’t pass the level, it won’t have you move on to the next level. It keeps you where you’re at until you get at least 1 star. Once again, this is an awesome app and it’s been an really awesome tool in helping me learn simple Japanese. Thank you!

### 4/5 — New words or updates?

*2024-05-18, version 4.4.11*

I love this app. The only reason I haven’t bought the full version is because they don’t seem to do any real updates like expanding the vocabulary offerings. I’d gladly buy if the updates were significant and not just “bug fixes.” Will there be any new additions to the vocabulary?

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2024-04-26, version 4.4.11*

I like practicing words with this. It’s fun when you have nothings to do.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2024-04-03, version 4.4.11*

Great way to spend time on the toilet.

### 5/5 — Very great but for learning purposes

*2024-04-01, version 4.4.11*

id say everything is great but a suggestion is having it where everyone learns how to say what they’re are learning about in japanese and then make it to where we can’t see the english translation because this will cause problems for everyone on the road to learning the language. Trying to translate the meaning of a japanese word into english every time is not the way to learn the language and it will surely give people a hard time on japanese so i think u should have them learn the word but after that no more english translations only japanese characters and meanings

### 5/5 — Very good game to refresh on Japanese

*2024-03-31, version 4.4.11*

I took three years of Japanese in high school, and I hardly if ever use it anymore but want to retain what I learned. This is a great game to mindlessly play and refresh with.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2024-03-10, version 4.4.9*

So nice. Real good

### 5/5 — It’s so much better then I intended!!

*2024-02-28, version 4.4.9*

I’m in high school and am looking forward to learning a new language, and while Duolingo is great in all, this is perfect for more simple starters that I actually manage to remember! I have such bad memory but the way it’s taught, having the sound, image, and spelling all out in front of you really makes it stick- the ads don’t even bother you too badly as they only are 5 seconds before you can skip on by. All in all, I’m really happy with this, while I’m not saying this would teach the whole language, it’s definitely a great way to ease into things :) !!

### 4/5 — Muito Bom para aprender substantivos

*2024-01-19, version 4.4.9*

Recomendo para aprender substantivos

### 4/5 — looks good, but still

*2024-01-12, version 4.4.8*

This app looks and sounds great. Some nice options like kana and kanji, too. My main issue is that it’s essentially multiple choice. So, many times you’re not recalling what a word is, you’re just eliminating. A good example is numbers with the kanji setting. Then 0 vs 1. I know the kanji for 1 and could write it, but not 0. So when they both appear, I’m really just thinking, “not 1.” It could be the kanji for fish for all I know. So not as helpful in reality.

The app/game is pleasant and seems innocuous enough. But it’s not the holy grail. (nor the Rosetta Stone.)

### 4/5 — Bon mais prononciation laisse à désirer

*2023-12-30, version 4.4.8*

L’application fonctionne bien et est plutôt facile à utiliser, mais la prononciation des mots est souvent assez mauvaise, avec systématiquement une accentuation sur certaines syllabes (ce qui n’a pas lieu d’être en Japonais) et parfois même des sons rajoutés (par exemple トイレ, normalement prononcé toilé, est dit toihé dans l’application, ce qui peut prêter à confusion). À part ça l’application marche tout de même bien, pas de bugs, etc.

### 5/5 — Straightforward and fun

*2023-11-19, version 4.4.6*

This app is actually free and the ads are not embarrassing or obnoxious. It covers all the basic of vocabulary with visuals, written romanji words, and audio. It’s a little addictive, not gonna lie. When I have my basics down, I may splurge for a paid version of this.

### 5/5 — radical

*2023-10-16, version 4.4.4*

app is fun and actually makes you want to be on it 24/7

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2023-10-10, version 4.4.4*

Very cute and I love the way it uses pictures to explain what each word means instead of translation. Pronunciation is accurate and just PERFECT!!!

One thing, though, iPad version is just stretched out version of the phone version, which lowers the quality of everything significantly and I feel it could be better.

Other than that, absolutely perfect, and I am loving it so far! Please download this app, it helps so much :D

### 5/5 — really dope app, makes learning very easy!

*2023-09-27, version 4.4.3*

i love this app, it’s helped me heaps. my only criticism would be adding more categories, maybe:

Plants: Tree, Flower, Leaf, Seaweed, Petal, etc

Fish: Salmon, Tuna, Cod, Shark, Whale, etc

Office: Pencil, Ruler, Scissors, etc

Bug: Mosquito, Butterfly, Dragonfly, Grasshopper, Snail, etc

Mood: Happy, Sad, Angry, Scared, Tired, etc

Shape: Circle, Square, Triangle, Rectangle, Star, Heart, Spiral, etc

Accessories: Necklace, Ring, Bracelet, Umbrella, Handbag, etc

these are some that i would be very happy to have, even pay extra to unlock if that’s the incentive that you need to make them!

thank you for listening!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Buggy - doesn’t work

*2024-12-12, version 4.4.14*

I reset my progress and now can’t start a level and the app freezes when I try to. I’ve deleted and re-installed. Not great for an app I paid for.

### 1/5 — KANA

*2024-01-27, version 4.4.9*

You remove the kana and only romanji and audio
It is bad enough with the commercials unless you paid
I remember when it was useful to me
Try and get this :No absolutely
Romanji no kanji
The options to select use KANA
And if you have it in the paid version you should let people know
Shout out to all those who have this app don't you dare update it lift regret it😡
Bugs and has been improvements just disgusting what you do so when I'm finished with this text I'm going to delete the app I delete my account thank you 🙏

### 1/5 — What?!?

*2022-11-23, version 4.2.23*

Bro what is going on

### 1/5 — No kanji!!

*2022-03-25, version 4.2.21*

This app is over priced for the amount of content you get and doesn’t even have an option to learn the kanji.

### 1/5 — No ads

*2021-03-11, version 4.2.16*

I paid 6.99 and it’s still saying unlock and giving me ads

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2020-05-20, version 4.2.9*

No introduction to the app. No explanation. Nothing. I open app, see multi purple background and unrecognizable objects falling down the screen. There is a “skip” button in the corner. I tap on it, it takes me to a page where I can choose what I want to learn. I choose numbers. Takes me back to previous screen where I tapped on skip. But this time there is no skip. Didn’t learn any Japanese. Only learned how stupid this app is.

### 2/5 — Good, but could be better.

*2023-06-13, version 4.4.1*

The app is nice and straightforward. I can see it helping learn vocabulary. However, currently you have to select Romaji, Kana, or Kanji. Which really means you have to choose to learn to speak, or read.

It would be much more effective if you could choose both Romaji / Kanji or Kana / Kanji.

### 2/5 — Too many adds

*2022-09-24, version 4.2.22*

It’s really good for some vocabulary learning. But ruined almost entirely by all the adds

### 3/5 — Okay

*2022-01-17, version 4.2.21*

The app itself is pretty good it is just a little hard for starters 👍

### 3/5 — I want them to make this better, great app

*2021-01-23, version 4.2.13*

Why when they introduce a new number it only appears twice in a certain section...

Also, if they set this up for the levels of jlpt that would be great

Also, if they created game for like walking and jumping. Maybe with a. Little more variety. Or jetting up verse down etc

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun and Effective!!

*2025-12-20, version 4.5.10*

As someone who has ADHD, the basic, textbook learning apps are really draining and hard to stay motivated with and ultimately I haven’t learned as much. But with this apps game like system, I find myself very engaged and actively coming back to complete more levels!! And the learning method is fast, so I don’t lose focus and move on to something else! Very efficient too and enjoyable, I hope to learn lots more!!

### 5/5 — Amazing!⭐️

*2025-11-30, version 4.5.10*

This app really helped me learn my numbers!

### 5/5 — The best

*2025-11-01, version 4.5.9*

10/10 phew😌

### 5/5 — Fun simple easy

*2025-06-18, version 4.5.2*

Being simple makes it easy for memory to retain 500(?) objects.

### 5/5 — 👶

*2025-05-31, version 4.5.2*

I feel like an actual baby but it’s pretty fun and it’s helping me with my vocab

### 5/5 — Best gamified vocab learning!

*2025-03-18, version 4.5.0*

I absolutely love language learning games that allow fast paced vocab learning!! This is genuinely an excellent use of using technology instead of physical flash cards or workbooks for vocab acquisition. My hope is they add more vocab words that are good for studying the JLPT N5 Exam!! You have to know 800 vocab words and there are around 200 on this app right now (unless you can unlock more with leveling up?) Good start and want to keep using this app with more words!!

### 5/5 — Adds just enough game

*2025-03-06, version 4.5.0*

This plays with just enough game to keep you engaged. A great way to learn vocabulary!

### 5/5 — (о´∀`о)

*2025-01-09, version 4.4.15*

As an English speaker, I’m trying my best to learn Japanese but it is too hard to start with hard items. I recommend it for kids or even beginners as it can help with a very basic understanding!

### 5/5 — Good

*2024-11-15, version 4.4.13*

I like it a lot it helps with N5.

### 5/5 — I am a high schooler and I love this.

*2024-08-27, version 4.4.12*

I am in highschool and I love how childish and cutesy and fun this actually makes this. This is a great way to introduce Japanese to children!
