### 3/5 — Works with 5G

*2022-12-13, version 3.5.2*

Pros:
1. I like that this unit has up to 4 probes so that you can monitor multiple cuts of meat as well as the air temperature in the smoker/grill. 2. It’s wifi operation allows me to monitor the progress from anywhere.
3. The unit works with a 5G internet contrary to the product information.
Cons:
1. It failed to link to my iPhone (5 attempts) using my TDS 2G WiFi but it linked to my iPhone on my 1st attempt after switching my internet service to Verizon 5G. Go figure!!

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2022-06-19, version 3.4.8*

Please update this app! The “dial” for setting a temperature alarm is horrible and difficult to set. Just get rid of the dial and let us type in the temperature. And cooking to temperature should be the default on a thermometer based cook in system… not a timer.

Also… maybe an option to set all 4 probes at once instead of having to do each one individually.

### 2/5 — It works fine, missing several obvious features

*2022-05-24, version 3.4.8*

I connected to my 308 wifi temperature controller just fine which is hooked to an aquarium heater. I’m disappointed with the app though for two reasons. First, it doesn’t record or graph how long the unit was in heating vs cooling mode. There ought to be a color on the graph showing heating/cooling, plus data for total time spent heating cooling by day/week/month. It’d be extremely nice to know total heating run time to estimate energy usage. Second, the pro version of the app claims to support ipad, but doesn’t actually work in landscape orientation. If you open it in landscape the layout is broken and goes off the screen, then you have to force quit the app and relaunch in portrait mode. This is such a simple fix it’s unfortunate the developers haven’t addressed it in nearly a year. Finally there ought to be a way to toggle a thermostat off temporarily without changing its settings. For example complete disabling my aquarium heater for the summer months, which you reduce the risk of something malfunctioning and boiling my fish, all withiut unplugging the unit from the wall so I could still remotely check the temp, and didn’t have to change settings.

### 2/5 — Missing Functionality.

*2022-04-20, version 3.4.7*

I should be able to set different parameters depending on whether it’s Daytime or Nighttime.
You can only manually program one set of parameters at a time.
But, since I need my Temp 10° cooler at night than the day. I have to reset it myself every 12 hours.
You should be able to set your day & night schedule in the settings, then be able to set your Temp & Humi parameters into the Day & Night settings.
Then you will start to get more 5 Star ratings.

### 2/5 — Partial Functionality

*2022-02-13, version 3.4.4*

As some others have stated; some elements don’t work or only work intermittently. The alarm feature and push notifications don’t function with latest iOS installed. Basically only works if you are manually checking the device feedback.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2022-01-25, version 3.4.3*

The app does not work in the background. I specifically got the Wi-Fi device so I could set it up and do other things while the InkBird keeps track, but it doesn’t do that at all. I either have to keep my eye on the thermometer or the app for it to be of any use at all.

### 3/5 — Great Start but needs improvements

*2022-01-11, version 3.4.2*

I would to give this product 5 stars but I can’t because it’s missing some common sense functionality:

1) it’s a pain to have to configure your settings every time you restart the app or temperature controller.

2) I would like to see the ability to add custom profiles. As an example; instead of showing meat profiles maybe allow for ambient temperature icons with the ability to set high and low alarm limits or some other custom icons and limits.

### 3/5 — Chart needs work

*2021-12-30, version 3.4.2*

Mostly satisfied with the basic control and settings functions of the app based on my use (aquarium heater controller). However, the chart function is nearly useless without the ability to zoom/set the axes to allow me to see actually useful precision of data.

### 1/5 — Location is required? Nah, thanks chicoms, I’ll pass

*2021-08-04, version 3.3.6*

Why would I give an app like this my location data? That isn’t something any company needs to let me run a sous vide machine. I’ll set it manually and remember not to purchase WiFi anything from this company, or frankly anything else period after this lame attempt.

### 4/5 — Needs Apple watch support

*2021-08-01, version 3.3.5*

Give me access to check current cook temp on watch and I will go to 5 stars

### 1/5 — Inkbird Ibbq-4T

*2021-07-12, version 3.3.3*

I have spent > 3 hours trying to connect this app to my cell phone Without success and carefully following instructions. Also, why does it require a password and location by Google to tell me the temperature of my brisket? The actual unit seems to be well made, but the app is worthless .

### 2/5 — Voiceover issues

*2021-07-05, version 3.3.3*

This app has serious accessibility issues when using VoiceOver. I bought the WIFI thermometer for use with my smoker. Setup is difficult to impossible with VoiceOver, and once set up their are further difficulties. I will be returning the product and deleting this app.

### 1/5 — Not so “smart”

*2021-05-31, version 3.3.2*

This has to be the worst app I have ever used. And the product isn’t all that impressive either. My hubby set it up, invited me to the “home”, but when I login to my account it gives me absolutely no option except to create a new home. No alert, no message inbox, no option to join an existing home, nothing.

Plus, the sensor is pretty useless. If the temp goes too high, it beeps on the sensor itself…but not on my phone/in the app. What’s the point of the sensor/app if I have to be standing next to the sensor to even hear the alarm?

Waste of money, just like most “smart home” devices.

### 1/5 — Worst Apps Ever!

*2023-02-17, version 3.5.8*

Inkbird Apps & setup are a joke. Where is the innovation? Why can’t you make an app that can setup easily with the devices? It erases all the data when your app updates & then asks to download a new app that doesn’t work! A year of greenhouse data gone! A another new unit unable to install wireless functions!

### 1/5 — They’re forcing us to migrate to a less secure and more invasive app

*2023-02-14, version 3.5.6*

This app “InkBird Pro” is being discontinued and removed from the App Store. They’re trying to force us to migrate to the new “InkBird” App and it requires a lot more of your UNNECESSARY private data in order to function. This is deliberate and a joke. I will be abandoning all of my InkBird products and will never buy another again. I will warn all people that I help to setup their habitats and grow spaces for NOT TO BUY INKBIRD. They will just pull a switcheroo on you and manipulate you into giving up private data that is wholly unnecessary for it to function.

This app _only_ requires “location” and it is necessary due to how iOS handles/maintains constant Bluetooth connections. The new app however, wants a whole lot more and actually links it to you as a person. They are siphoning up our data for NO REASON other than to SPY on us and likely SELL IT. Shame on them and we should all abandon them if we care at all about privacy and have any sort of principles surrounding companies mis/using our private data.

### 1/5 — Phone notifications don’t work

*2022-12-30, version 3.5.3*

Like everyone mentioned, the sound notification does not work on your phone. You have to check your phone frequently so this product does not serve its purpose.

### 1/5 — Way past time to fix notifications!!!

*2022-12-24, version 3.5.3*

As numerous reviews have stated, push notifications do not work at all. Clearly, this has been an issue for well over a year. They used to work, and it’s way past time to get them working again.

### 1/5 — This app is trash

*2022-10-08, version 3.4.9*

This app used to be good, but for the past year or so I have to try and login multiple times. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Just smashed and trashed the whole thing. Inkbird used to be really good but my patience has worn out. On to Meater I suppose.

### 1/5 — Used to work

*2022-09-02, version 3.4.9*

Update breaks the connection and cannot get it back. You decided to create yet another Home automation platform and just like the others, broke your most basic functionality in the process. Will not buy InkBird anything again.

### 1/5 — Huge security risk

*2022-08-14, version 3.4.9*

This app require you to share location in order to use it, then it asks you to type you wifi name + password in clear text. Combine both and you’re handing over your local network to a Shenzhen company. I’m pointing this because Apple offers a way to share your Wi-Fi credentials safely encrypted thru iOS apps to avoid this type of security threat. Now to require your location to be shared stating that to Apple requires it is straight dishonest and suspicious at minimum. It may be safer to just write your house address on your house keys and throw it on the streets.

### 1/5 — You are in blacklist

*2022-06-18, version 3.4.8*

I've struggled for a number of days getting a single IBS-M1 gateway connected to this app, and never succeeded. Thinking maybe my home wifi didn’t have 2.4ghz enabled, or was running higher security than this app could handle, I tried using my phone hotspot. Then, I lost all functionality, and kept getting a “You are in blacklist” message. I tried other Inkbird apps, as well as deleting this one and re-installing. No luck. The fact that I even have to register for an account to monitor devices that will not ever be on a network once configured pisses me off all by itself, much less getting my account blacklisted for some unknown (and unexplained) reason. I’m already done with this company, and will be looking elsewhere. They’re not worth the time I already wasted, much less any further effort...

### 1/5 — No Notifications

*2022-06-18, version 3.4.8*

How does this app not allow for push notifications!? That’s like the most basic of functions for an app these days. There’s even an option in the settings to turn on push notifications, but it doesn’t matter. Other InkBird apps have push notification capability why not this one? If I had known I would not have bought the wireless thermometer.

### 1/5 — Can’t retrieve password

*2022-04-18, version 3.4.7*

It seems like every time I use the program you have to re-enter your password and other information. This for a program that is supposed to work over Bluetooth. Now when I try to retrieve my password, it asks me for my password in order to do so! If I knew my password (my iPhone never saves it) then I wouldn’t need to ask for it. This renders the equipment functionally useless unless I go out to the smoker and manually check it. Which defeats the purpose of a remote thermometer. Equipment would be fine if the software wasn’t so flawed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I mean, it works…

*2022-07-30, version 3.4.9*

I use this for a 210 gal aquarium. It connected to my routing after figuring how to set it to AP mode. Power outage alerts after 45mins, which a pop up tells you. Graph is fine for me, heating only. You can export it. Set a temp range. Yea, there might be some features that might be handy for specific reasons, but the app works fine.

### 5/5 — Worked great for me

*2021-05-17, version 3.3.2*

Worked great for me. It held the temperature perfect for me and I was able to monitor the grill temp and my food temp when I had to leave the house for a couple hours. On my iPhone, it also sends notifications to my watch. Great value for the money too

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2021-02-24, version 3.3.1*

I’ve had no problems. Calibrated them, downloaded the app and set it up. I’ve used all 4 probes and it alerts me on my phone and the unit itself. I didn’t like it beeping on the unit at first but it serves a purpose.

### 5/5 — Not sure why people have so many complaints

*2020-09-21, version 3.1.18*

I was able to add my inkbird ibbq-4t with no issues at all. It’s been working great. I had an 8 hr cook last weekend and the graph worked perfectly. My phone died during the cook, I got my phone charged, opened the app and the graph stayed consistent with the thermometer the entire time.

### 4/5 — Not Terrible

*2022-11-04, version 3.5.1*

Overall, the app functions well for the meat thermos I’m using it for. Easy to set up alerts, temp ranges, and whatever else you need.

I would like to see a ‘slide’ feature on the temperature graph though. It’s really picky about where you can select to view the temperature at. I think sliding your finger along the graph line would eliminate that.

### 4/5 — 306a aquarium controller

*2022-07-04, version 3.4.8*

System has been running for a week and works great. My big critique is that you can’t change the values in the graph. Would be nice to have a week view and the temp range from 65-90F. Just my .02

### 4/5 — WiFi unit Automation

*2022-05-20, version 3.4.8*

I can’t set the humidification or dehumidification differential less than 10% when setting automation? No problem with WiFi temperature device. What gives?

### 4/5 — Offline notification timing

*2022-05-01, version 3.4.7*

Like many people I use the Inkbird temperature control for aquarium heater control. It is vital to receive a notification immediately when there is a power outage.

Right now, the APP only sends offline notification after 45 minutes. I understand that some people may want less frequent notification. But it would be greatly helpful if there is an option for immediate notification. Please consider restoring the feature on the APP. Will be greatly appreciated!

### 4/5 — Almost a Great System

*2022-03-11, version 3.4.6*

It’s getting there.
But….. switch to Fahrenheit still does not reflect in the “Alarm Settings” page. Where the numbers still display as Centigrade but wrongly with the Fahrenheit “F” labeling.

### 4/5 — Watch App!!!! PLEASE!!

*2021-12-01, version 3.4.2*

Yes, pairing can be frustrating. However, I’ve not had a problem from my devices since being successfully paired.

Right now, we’re having boiler problems, waiting on parts from Germany to Alaska, and it’s minus something Fahrenheit outside. After a couple sleepless nights babysitting the boiler, I fixed an InkBird thermocouple to my boiler return line. I now get an alert to my watch and phone if the boiler shuts down and trips the low temp value I set in the app!! Sleep is good yay. After the boiler is fixed, I’m gonna use the device to help dial in the boiler heating curve for better efficiency.

The app collects data every 15 minutes for the log. Being able to change the polling period from the app would be useful. Alerts do seem to be in real-time though. Hands down, what I really want is an InkBird watch app!!! I work with my hands and pulling out my phone to check on my tomatoes for example, can be a pain. One last observation, InkBird needs to clean up their apps and their ambiguous descriptions.
