## What is Inkdale?

Private, encrypted notes that can answer your questions, right on your iPhone.

Inkdale keeps your notes yours: encrypted on your device, synced through a cloud folder you already own, and never seen by us. No account, no subscription, no servers.

ASK YOUR NOTES
Type a question in plain English and get an answer drawn from your own notes, powered by Apple's on-device AI. Nothing is uploaded. The model runs entirely on your iPhone. (Requires iPhone 15 Pro or later.)

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• AES-256 encryption on your device, unlocked with Face ID or your password. Only you hold the key.
• No account, no sign-up, no servers. Nothing of yours on our machines, because there are none.
• Lock the whole vault, a folder, or a single note behind Face ID.

YOUR NOTES, YOUR CLOUD
• Sync through iCloud, Dropbox, or any folder you already use.
• Encrypted files you own. Move them or walk away anytime. No lock-in.

A QUIET PLACE TO WRITE
• A fast, clean editor: checklists, folders, photos, Markdown.
• Quick to open, quick to write, out of your way.

Free on iPhone. The full writing studio, with note summaries and more, lives on the Mac as Inkdale for Mac.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-12

A new name: this app is now Inkdale. Your vault, password, and notes carry over untouched. Nothing to set up.

Also in this update:
• Notes with photos open instantly, even with several large photos in one note.
• Face ID unlock no longer bounces you back to the lock screen after the app has sat in the background for a while.
• Cleaner wording throughout the app.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-17

This update sharpens Ask your notes:

• Tap a source under an answer and the note opens right at the spot, with the exact value highlighted - so you can verify it at a glance.
• If an answer is taking too long, a new Try again button re-runs it on the spot.
• Open a locked note you just searched, and it won't ask for your password a second time.

As always, the AI runs entirely on your iPhone. Your notes never leave the device.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-14

• See where every answer comes from. "Ask your notes" now highlights the exact note each answer was found in — so you can open it and check in a tap.
• Links. Create links in your notes and tap to open them — and links you made on your Mac now show up here too.
• Swipe to switch. Swipe the search bar to flip between Recent and Folders.
• A cleaner, unified look for the Ask panel, a faster panel, autocorrect in search, and a smoother unlock with no flicker.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-08

• NEW — Ask your notes: ask a question in plain English and get an answer drawn from your own notes, powered by Apple's on-device AI. Nothing is ever uploaded. (Requires iPhone 15 Pro or later.)
• A Recent-first home — your recent and pinned notes up front, with a tap to browse all your folders.
• Notes now scale with your iPhone's Text Size, so they're as readable as you like.
• A cleaner note list, clearer locked notes, and a fresh app mark.
• Recent & New now shows notes from your other devices.
• Snappier new notes, search autocorrect, and various fixes.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-06-25

• To-do checklists, plus bullet and numbered lists
• A faster unlock — Face ID greets you on a clean screen, with your password as a backup
• Light, Dark, or System theme
• Divider blocks and a quick formatting toggle
• Copy any note, or a selection, as Markdown
• Duplicate a note in one tap
• Search and new-note always within reach at the bottom
• Smoother iCloud sync and a batch of reliability fixes
