I love being able to interact with my favorite authors, and the interface is mostly sensible and user friendly. If it worked properly I'd give it 5 stars, but it's soooo glitchy. Every day there's some new weirdness and it drives me crazy. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed. Seems the majority of platforms no longer value effort and integrity, which makes getting your work out there extremely difficult. If a better filtering system was put in place to filter out the insane amount of porn and AI, I MIGHT consider using it to read, but I will never publish anything on any platform that is okay with stealing work from others. ### 1/5 — Don’t recommend *2026-06-09, version 4.1.21* I paid for a subscription and it didn’t work. No one cares so don’t waste your money and pay for any subscription on this scam of a site. Horrible interface, barely any customisation and plagued with romance novels. Who ever manages this app must either be a failed writer or someone who doesn’t read at all. It lets the authors keep most of the money and is easy to use. The selection and quality are excellent, and although I realize many of these offerings are still a work in progress, have found several that are fantastic. It’s a window into the making of a best selling writer, and I’m enjoying it immensely! Thank you to all the writers who put their hard work out on this app! ### 5/5 — Motivating *2026-09-03, version 5.2.1* I’m both an Inkitt reader and writer (harmless plug: Shadows of Legacy) and not only am I able to read the exact kind of book I’m in the mood for, but it’s free. Soon enough I find I’m engrossed and finished. As a writer (ThewritingWillow) it keeps track of my writing progress and I’m currently on a 27 day writing streak! That kind of motivation has never happened for me.
