## What is Inks?

Inks is a private writing app built around letters.

Turn a feeling, an important moment, or words you are not ready to say aloud into a letter. Keep it for yourself, revisit it later, or share it with someone when you choose.

More than the finished words
A letter opens as a complete piece. When you want to return to the writing itself, Inks can replay how the words took shape—the pauses, revisions, and decisions along the way.

Make each letter your own
Add text, photos, and drawings. Choose stationery, stickers, music, particle effects, and envelope details. These choices are there to support what you want to say, not distract from it.

Ideas when you need a starting point
Browse writing ideas for everyday moments, memories, relationships, and different stages of life. Pick one and keep it above the editor while you write.

Local first, sharing is your choice
By default, letter content stays on your device and is not automatically uploaded to the cloud. Inks also offers app lock, hidden letters, and local encryption.

Use Inks as a private journal, a letter to your future self, or a quiet place for the moments you want to keep.

Subscriptions
Inks offers monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions, as well as one-time purchase options. Available plans, trial eligibility, and prices are shown on the App Store purchase screen.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account after confirmation. Unless canceled, subscriptions renew automatically within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Access remains available until the end of the current billing period.

- Optimized notification display: messages are now concisely presented and intelligently truncated to prevent long content from being cut off.

- When uploading a custom stamp, you can now crop the image to your liking with support for square, portrait, and landscape formats. We've also updated the default stamp design.
- The timeline in Replay Mode now features **"Pause Markers"** – so during playback, you can clearly see where the writing paused and where it flowed.

- Optimized letter file sizes – now taking up less storage. Most entries without images or heavy media are under 5 MB.
- Improved the writing replay timeline, making it easier to locate specific moments during playback.
- Smoother gesture interactions when moving images or stickers in the letter editor.
- Updated the vintage window-style letter paper texture with richer details.
- Enhanced the customization panel experience when designing your own letter paper.
- Improved batch deletion flow and the input experience when customizing the "Echo" text in the unsealing effect.
- Better display of letter details across devices – author info, timezone, and timestamps are now clearer and more consistent.
- Fully unified localization, date/time formatting, and 24-hour display – stats and replay pages now follow your system region settings.

Fixes
- Fixed display issues with black and default letter paper. The app now automatically uses white text on black paper and black text on white paper, and custom text colors are no longer supported for these themes.
