## What is InkWell?

**For the Thinkers and the Forgetters.**

InkWell is a journal for people who think in circles, forget what they figured out last month, and want a place that holds all of it without judgment.

Write it down. Say it out loud. Search for the thing you know you wrote but can't remember when. InkWell keeps up with how your mind actually works.

**Write however it comes out**
Type it, or just talk. InkOutLoud turns your voice into a clean, readable entry automatically, so you can capture a thought on a walk or in the car without losing it to a blank page later.

**A companion who reads only when you ask**
Sophy is InkWell's AI companion. She offers a prompt when you want one and reflects back what she notices when you ask her to. She does not read your entries in the background. Silence is the default. You decide when she's part of the page.

**Ask your journal anything**
Search by meaning, not just keywords. Ask "when did I feel most like myself this year" and InkWell finds the entries that answer it, even if you never used those exact words (Plus).

**Gratitude that doesn't go flat**
Repeating the same gratitude prompt gets old fast, and the research backs that up. InkWell rotates through five distinct, research-cited gratitude practices so the practice keeps working instead of becoming background noise.

**See the other side**
Reframe walks you through a short, structured practice for looking at a hard moment from a different angle, in your own words.

**Quick capture and longer Sprints**
InkBlot is for the fast thought you don't want to lose. Sprints are timed, uninterrupted writing sessions for when you need to think something all the way through.

**Goals built from what you actually value**
WISH is a values-based goal method. Sort through what matters to you, name one goal that grows out of it, and get a plan with a realistic runway instead of a vague resolution.

**A simple, optional check-in**
FeelCheck is a 1-to-5 rating you can attach before and after a practice if you want to notice a shift. Entirely optional, never required, never a score you're being measured against.

**See your year, not just your day**
Browse entries on a calendar. Get monthly and weekly insight summaries that connect dots across time (Plus).

**Your words, your call on who sees them**
InkWell can generate a Practice Summary you can choose to share, on your own terms, with a therapist or anyone else you trust. It's built from your usage patterns, not the content of what you wrote. Your entries are never included and never required to make one.

**Built to stay private**
Your entries are encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your data. We never use your entries to train AI. No one else can read what you write. Sophy only sees an entry when you ask her a question about it.

**Free, actually**
The free version is a complete journal: every capture mode, the full gratitude rotation, the full WISH goal flow, and free-mode voice journaling. Nothing is a trial. InkWell Plus adds deeper reflection from Sophy, weekly and monthly insight reports, semantic search across your whole journal, and more from your voice entries. Upgrade if you want more. The free version was never designed to make you feel like you're missing something.

Light, dark, and a gentler reading theme are all included. Export your entries whenever you want them.

InkWell isn't a medical app and isn't a therapy replacement. It's a place to think, out loud or on the page, that remembers what you told it and gives some of it back when it matters.

### 5/5 — It is very good, just a suggestion

*2026-04-07*

It is easy to use for me and people who hate writing and this app makes it easier to see my entries rather than to read it by paper but one suggestion, adding a ai bot like perplexity will be awesome, Thank you. As an early Generation Z born In the early 2000s this app has been very useful to me to reflect my gratitude about me and to everyone.
