### 1/5 — Updated Wi-fi?!

*2018-07-30, version 2.0.10*

With the previous app I couldn’t get it to connect to my Wi-fi and gave up so I was pleased this version claimed it had overhauled Wi-fi.
But, the Wi-fi still doesn’t work! Now this app says my Wi-fi password is incorrect because it contains a space or special characters. Well yes, my password has a space - so? It’s perfectly valid and everything else I use works fine. Come on guys. Please fix this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2024-08-01, version 2.1.5*

Connects 0.05% of the times. No updates for 3+ years. Disappointing for an AC that is not cheap at all

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-10-02, version 2.1.5*

Needs to have cloud server to set a timer!!

Very very very very buggy (lots of timeout messages)

Cannot set the conditioner to night mode at night.

Also; very problematic to set up - I had to uninstall it and start again as it got stuck in the scanning screen.

If I'd known how bad this was I would not have bought the Powrmatic devices and will certainly not be buying any more.

### 1/5 — AC great. App is crap.

*2023-05-23, version 2.1.5*

App doesn't work at all. Won't connect. Complete waste of time.

### 1/5 — Absolute Junk

*2023-04-26*

I am not sure who wrote this app but the process of development seems to lack basic quality control. I cannot even connect to my AC because the connection screen requires a serial number in the format that for not match what the unit has.

### 1/5 — Pretty awful

*2022-12-15, version 2.1.5*

This app is very unstable. On my phone it fails to connect to my a/c 99/100 times, much better from my ipad but still not 100%. Restarting the app several times to try and get it to find the a/c should not be necessary. Compared to hp’s tapo which works with wifi switches and sockets etc and works first time every time , this is very very poor.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2022-11-29, version 2.1.5*

Forced to use the app as no other choice. Never works and extremely limited.

### 1/5 — App is trash

*2022-08-16, version 2.1.5*

Doesn’t work always loses connection to the device. Absolutely trash. Needs lots of work. Just terrible!!!

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to devices wifi to setup

*2022-04-18, version 2.1.5*

Can’t even get started as I am unable to join the devices network.

### 1/5 — Simply doesn’t work

*2020-08-13, version 2.1.1*

The App for these AC units simply doesn’t work. I have 5 units and not one of them works reliably with the App (if at all). If you’re looking to buy this brand and remote access is a must, avoid. The units use their own proprietary remotes and they will not work with other 3rd party ‘smart’ controllers. A real shame as the units themselves work well in my home. I just have to use the IR remote control to turn them all on/off

### 1/5 — Don’t update!

*2020-07-16, version 2.1.0*

The latest update has broken the app. As soon as I start it up, following the message “do you want to add devices already configured”, the app crashes. Deleting and reinstalling the app does not resolve it. It’s now broken the remote access to my units.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 4/5 — Sufficient

*2025-12-02, version 2.1.5*

Works good enough. Google home integration would be ideal.

### 3/5 — Barebones but functional

*2025-01-09*

I would love to see further development of this app as it is the only interface I have with my AC unit. For example, changing the temperature is painfully slow; it would be great one could enter it numerically, rather than pressing the plus or minus button and waiting for each increment to register over the network.

### 3/5 — Cool ;)

*2019-03-23, version 2.0.12*

Works as described, would be good to have some Alexa integration :) would be a 4star then.

### 3/5 — Surprised

*2017-05-25, version 1.0.13*

Well I have had this unit a year, and only just discovered it has built in wifi !!! Can't remember reading about it in the instructions 🤔

The app itself is great, my only struggle is trying to set up the remote access, however this could just be my overly secure network. But in summary so far so good!

### 2/5 — Could be a lot better

*2021-12-16, version 2.1.5*

The idea is great and controlling your AC remotely is great, but the app itself is way too buggy. I changed already twice phone and usually the remote control works 50% of the time, which makes the overall experience very painful.

### 2/5 — Most recent update crashes app

*2020-07-17, version 2.1.0*

Ever since I updated the app, it crashes. When I try to select my device the app closes on its own

### 2/5 — Needs improvement with remote access

*2019-06-22, version 2.0.13*

When setting up remote access it only allows a list of 10 possible wifi spots. If you live in an area where there are 20 or 30 wifi signals available you may never be able to get yours to appear in that list of 10. Without a remote to use the AC the functionality is incredibly poor. Hopefully an update for this app can fix this issue and other glitches and stability. This also needs a better designed interface for UX.
