### 2/5 — Multiple breakdowns in 1st 8 months and hard to reach an on shore technician for help

*2026-04-23*

I had the machine replaced 2 times already and it is having the same issues( less the 87% oxygen, replace columns, within 3 months of supposedly a new machine, not great for a $4000 purchase

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2025-12-03*

The old Inogen app had battery cycles as part of the report which was nice. This version is always disconnected so you have to reconnect the Bluetooth all the time if you want to see how the unit is functioning and to check on battery level

### 2/5 — Pointless App

*2025-09-29*

I’ve found the app to be extremely unreliable and, for the most part, not very useful. Connection is spotty at best, which makes even the basic functions frustrating to use. The one feature I consistently rely on is checking the battery level of my Rove 6, since I usually keep it tucked away in a backpack. Beyond that, there really isn’t much the app brings to the table.

What would make a big difference is if the app actually allowed control over the device itself. The ability to power the machine on or off remotely or adjust the flow rate through the app would add real value and convenience. As it stands, though, the app feels more like an afterthought than a fully developed companion tool.

It has potential, but without meaningful functionality or reliable connectivity, it’s hard to see the point of keeping it installed. Right now, it feels like wasted space on my phone rather than a useful extension of the device.

### 2/5 — App got stupid

*2025-04-06*

This app used to give information on column life remaining, hours used, and oxygen concentration. The Performance tab where all those were available has been eliminated. Shame on Inogen.

### 2/5 — Runs battery down

*2025-03-21*

Seemed to include lots of the important information from my POC, but was constantly running in the background and was quickly deleting my phones battery. So took it off my phone. Sad😕

### 1/5 — Rio Grande guy

*2025-02-25, version 2.3.1*

My principal issue with the app is that it keeps in 24/7/365 contact with my phone! Even when the machine and phone is @ 100% AND unplugged! It draws down the battery to 0% in 6 hours on a new iPhone 16. I like the information that the app provides especially when I am out and about. If there was a way to shut down the or put the app to “sleep” when the portable Imogene unit is turned OFF!

### 1/5 — Mostly Useless

*2025-02-20, version 2.3.1*

Other than counting days since cannula and filters have been replaced, the app has little if any usefulness. Where is the number of hours of use? How about some real numbers about diagnostic information like O2 quality and delivery so I can watch to see if things might be degrading and can anticipate a problem, send it in have it fixed before it fails in the middle of use in the middle of a stadium in a city over a thousand miles from home as my previous one did. Simply indicating that its health is ‘good’, is hardly reassuring. Sorry Inogen. If you’re going to put out an app, make it a good, useful one or don’t waste your time and mine.

### 1/5 — Getting better but a ways to go

*2024-11-27*

I loaded the new app back in May and had a few suggestions as to the lacking of information available that was on the old app. Apparently support doesn’t read any of the reviews because nothing has happened to update the new app. Reading a lot of the reviews people are as disappointed as I am that all that Inogen is interested in is selling units.

Uploaded the new app today V2.2.0 and it does have some improvements but is still missing items from the first app which I liked. It told you battery cycles so you could have some idea as to time to order a new battery. It also had the first connected statement which was nice to see how old the unit was before failure. The new app has where the device was bought but nothing else about the company but spaces are available for the info such as phone number, address, web site, etc. Keep improving the app as it does have some uses that I depend on!

### 2/5 — Not reliable

*2024-07-25*

It is missing essential information for initial pairing that requires a tech support call to find out. After that the reliability seems to be poor. It dropped the connection and, again it won’t reconnect following the directions to just restart the unit.

### 1/5 — Really Dissapointed

*2024-06-15*

Have used the app for years now and the new one really stinks. I was hoping the company would add the ability to change settings but nope…not yet. The new app is actually worse than the one me and my wife have used for years. We’re really sad that a once respected company has come out with this garbage. Two thumbs down.

### 1/5 — WISH I HAD AN APP THAT WORKED

*2024-06-03, version 2.2.0*

Just bought a brand new Inogen rove 6 portable concentrator. The unit worked great until I paired it to my iPhone app. After a few minutes the concentrator starts telling me my oxygen level had o2 error with a yellow bling error. Before that it said 87% oxygen then it was 67% then the error code. I had to get a new unit because even after I unpaired the app the machine continued to show O2 error. The app changed the internal oxygen sensor reading. Way too expensive to deal with something like this. They told me not to pair app to new unit and wait for another update… The app worked great when I was able to see what it could do but unfortunately affected concentrator in a negative way. Hope a new update comes out soon. I used the 2.2.1 app

### 1/5 — Poor app update

*2024-05-10*

Waiting for new app to be updated to include some of the old app information. Today I tried to load the widget to my system and guess what? It does not exist! Just another thing that needs improvement! New and improved but ain’t worth a sh…!
I have stayed with updating the app and still not as good as the old version.

### 1/5 — Another bad update version

*2024-04-28, version 2.1.0*

Come on Inogen!
Get the app fixed, update version-now wont connect at all, can’t see battery status, column life, nothing. We love the G5 hardware, but the app is useless to us patients.

### 1/5 — Won’t Pair

*2024-04-22, version 2.1.0*

After trying to confirm the G5 device supplier, the app shows a message that the device is already paired with another Bluetooth device, even though there aren’t other devices to pair to.

### 1/5 — New app doesn’t work

*2024-04-06, version 2.1.0*

The new app will not work. Did they not do a requirements training?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Spotty App

*2025-12-21*

Can never get the App to connect. Just searching for the Inogen One G5 Bluetooth connection never locates the device. Once you do connect you need to enter your last name and DOB. If you’ve purchased a used machine you’re not registered with Inogen. So you can’t use the App. Just terrible.

### 1/5 — Worthless AP

*2025-11-14*

I recently tried to connect my Inogen Rove 6 to the AP on my iPhone. I can’t even get past where it says to identify verification. It says set up fingerprint, face recognition or passcode. When I tell it ok, it immediately takes me to my settings. I always use passcodes, but I can’t find any place to put in a passcode on the AP settings or anywhere else. Have tried contacting Inogen and can get nothing but put on hold. As far as I’m concerned, the AP is worthless as well as their customer service is horrible! Don’t bother downloading!

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2025-10-08, version 3.0.0*

I finally was able to connect this with my G5 but it won’t update software and now it says disconnected! It also consistently has the wrong status of the charge! Waste of time! I just deleted it.

### 1/5 — Having to onboard at every use

*2025-09-27*

The app works great until you close it. When you reopen the app, you are met with initial setup again. In order for the app to work, I can’t turn of my POC or close the app. Either of these makes me onboard again. I just like that it is supposed to help keep track of maintenance and shows my stats but doesn’t keep anything after closure. Really annoying. App needs work.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth

*2025-09-15, version 3.0.0*

Cannot connect with iOS PHONE. Period

### 1/5 — Nearly useless

*2025-09-14, version 3.0.0*

Requires I sign in with all info like I had never used it before. Today it won’t let me sign in at all stating: the app is too busy. I’ll make do without this USELESS app

### 1/5 — Oh well

*2025-07-19, version 3.0.0*

In this latest version the folks at Inogen decided to make users sign a very long, very difficult, convoluted binding contract for no good reason. It smelled like a trap so I dropped the app all together… not worth the trouble.

### 1/5 — Rio Grande guy

*2025-06-23*

Love my Concentrator, not so much the app! The app works good, BUT after 4-5 days completely disconnects from my G5 and I have to re-enter all my information ie name etc and reconnect with the app. Meaning while all information is LOST ie servicing, canula time in service. Can we get this fixed!

### 1/5 — Worst update ever

*2025-05-10*

The latest forced update is not usable at all. The Bluetooth connection drains the phone battery within a few hours. Every time the app is opened I have to reregister my account and device. Do better Inogen!!!

### 1/5 — A piece of garbage

*2025-03-24*

I’ve only had the Rove 6 for a week and I have had to pair the app to the concentrator at least 6 times and reregister the device each time. How can a company charge thousands of dollars for hardware and the put out a support app of such poor quality? They should be ashamed.
It actually deserves a negative rating but a rating of 1 is the lowest you can give.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very useful app

*2026-04-14*

Very useful app thats helps checking the oxygen flow of my device, purchase accessories from patient portal and check my heart rate from apple watch all at one place.

### 5/5 — It works for me.

*2022-06-11, version 1.5*

I love using the app, it’s easy to use and understand. I’ve had some of the issue that other users reported. But I found out that I believe they were human error. I say this because you have to make sure you follow the instructions when downloading the app. It takes a few minutes for the app to respond to the unit. Each time you power on your Inogen and open your app it takes a few seconds to open and the unit has to be close to your cellphone.
It works trust me.

### 5/5 — iPhone 6 works just fine.

*2021-03-07, version 1.5*

Maybe it’s because I am patient with technology and can follow directions? Both machine and app are 100%. Period.

### 5/5 — Will not pair with iPhone XS

*2019-12-22, version 1.4*

App will find unit serial number in iPhone XS but does not re acquire unit after agreement to terms of use. Privacy settting is correct. Will not display iPhone and question mark in pairing process. iOS version 13.3.2.
After update of Inogen app, phone pairs with unit and performs as expected. Pairing was quick and easy.

### 4/5 — Totally useless

*2021-12-31, version 1.5*

Problems connecting, but phone help quickly solved them. Too bad the Inogen customer service robophone system makes it so difficult to reach a human. Instructions for blue tooth reset of concentrators (press +, bell, and - at same time) should be added to both online FAQs and app connection instructions. That, long with reinstalling the app, plus toggling iPhone BT off/on solved the connection issue.

### 4/5 — Now it works.

*2020-06-09, version 1.5*

I had the Xs Max and the Inogen One G5 wouldn’t Pair what so ever, but now I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the App works fine. And even with the new upgrade it’s still working great. Thank You this helps me out a lot.

### 4/5 — No Bluetooth connections but a lot of promises

*2020-06-09, version 1.5*

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with that use some type of technology. What that means that are very stupid in trying to get their Bluetooth connection to work with my iPhone. It's been 2 months since I had this problem and no update on the app to fix this problem. Imagine if this happened to the company that you worked at, how much longer would you be working there. Their product is not working right and they refuse to give me back my money because they say it’s over 30 days. Do not do business with this Company and I believe they should be investigated by their state attorney for fraud. Do not buy from them.
It is now working with apples 13.5 update.

### 3/5 — Frustrating

*2025-04-02*

I have dozens of Bluetooth devices, this is the most finicky of them all. It keeps losing connection to POC and reconnection seems like never the same way twice. And then, it requires me to input all my registration information again. Also, it would be helpful if the App could at least allow you to change the O2 level instead of just reporting it. Earth to Inogen: FIX IT!

### 3/5 — OS 18

*2024-09-29, version 2.2.1*

App quit working on OS ver 18 upgrade

### 3/5 — Basic info

*2024-07-27, version 2.2.1*

All of a sudden the app won’t connect to wife’s rove 6. Restarted unit several times still no luck.
