Why can’t we have a chronological list of all past visits, and a chronological list of list of future appointments? Why can’t I have a list of visits organized by main doctor (specialty: Cardio, oncology etc) with PAs and NPs under their main doc. With so many facilities please include the address of all appointments prominently in the notation,and a local office phone number, if I’m lost or stuck in an hour traffic jam I need to call in. Most of all, some of my doctors are not My Chart capable so I can’t be sure I’m not creating schedule conflicts. Are those doctors ineligible to use My Chart? Do they refuse it due to cost? My Chart is a good idea, especially in that I was told it allowed access from other states and networks should I travel seasonally, but it’s a work in progress and leaves a lot to be desired. You do realize in today’s society we are using this in every aspect of our lives. It has become unbearable, unnecessary and undermines the intent of even trying to be relaxed and non pressured when going to to Dr for a health issue. Even checking in at INOVA using the automated check is a pain. Try being over 6 ft trying to type info into the electronic kiosk. How about INOVA Customer Sevice focuses on providing quality care by going back to human to human check ins for checking in. This one is better than most, but trying to manage myself and family from the app is still more difficult for me than traditional paper bills, calendars, and records. I love realtime access to some of my medical tests, visits summaries etc, but I can’t seem to find a way to annotate the records so I lose the ability to understand what I am looking at (especially when I see multiple specialists). Billing tools are (in theory) useful, but I have a lack of faith after decades of paper processes where proof of payment artifacts have been needed to prevent me from being cheated. I’m always dubious of systems that assume everything is right always. In general, family members data seem to get mixed when I don’t want them too (billing) and not when it would make it more convenient (like scheduling). The organization taxonomy of the app does not make much sense to me, but I’m sure there is a reason for how it is laid out. I gave a mid-review, but I suspect that is more because I can’t adapt to it as well as those who started in the electric environment and generally believe that companies (especially medical organizations) treat its customers fairly. ### 3/5 — Too many reminders *2025-06-26, version 11.3.2* There are too many reminders and they are too early for upcoming appointments. Also reminders to pay when no $ is due. ### 3/5 — Becomes effectively useless *2025-06-09* If you have an issue with the MyChart portal login this app is of no use to you. All of the info contained is that area is not available. You call the number for MyChart help and they “can’t help you you have to contact the last Inova facility you were in.” They tell you “can’t help you you you need to contact records release.” They “don’t have any idea why you were told to contact them.” So information you need is not available, and no one can help you get it, not anyone. Save your self the nightmare and don’t rely on this app. Go old school and physically write things down or go to the needed facility and get paper copies of info you need. ### 5/5 — My Health *2025-05-01, version 11.2.5* Thank you MyChart for being so user friendly! I’m just disappointed after six months. I’m assuming I will have to do this again for every provider. We are rethinking to move to a different provider. ### 1/5 — What use is this if you’re not in the hospital? *2025-09-23, version 11.4.3* You log in a hundred times with the same device and that device is listed as a hundred different new untrusted devices. This happens no matter how many times you check trust this device. Very complex navigation to do even simple things like send a message. Can’t schedule an appointment with primary care because there is “no need”. As if the doctor who wants the appointment doesn’t matter. MyChart has decided you don’t get medical care? Does Inova allow computer programs to decide who gets what medical treatment or treatment at all now? Can’t refill prescriptions that the pharmacy MyChart has listed app has no problem refilling. This and other things may be because of all devices being labeled as not trusted but it doesn’t matter why the app is pretty much useless unless you are in an Inova hospital. ### 1/5 — Bad design *2025-09-05, version 11.4.3* It is not intuitive. Because he is 14 My chart will is now requiring us to have him setup his own chart and I have to request proxy access. However we cannot get an account setup for him when I am following the directions. I have been going around on circles for the past week. Very frustrating that a parent is not able to advocate for our child’s healthcare. My 14 year old son is not able to mange this on his own. My primary doc is very friendly and he feels like family. I had to go to a specialist lately and the process was simple. With the few clicks of a button I feel like my healthcare maintenance is just as easy as pushing a few buttons. Inova Fair Oaks hospital was the best experience I’ve ever had. The compassion , kindness and team work among staff was beyond exceptional. From walking in the front door thru discharge I couldn’t have asked for better care. I was so privileged to get to be a patient of Dr Ivan Harnden. I want to give environmental services accolades as well even the baseboards were spotless.
