### 5/5 — News/dating app for well-informed girlies

*2025-11-19*

In the hellscape that is the current dating scene it’s nice to be matched to people who genuinely share my interests and worldview. Plus I’m more well informed with all the reading I’m doing.

### 5/5 — The news is Fun again

*2025-11-19, version 5.0.247*

This app has made reading the news infinitely more enjoyable especially when so much of the news is depressing. It’s a breath of fresh air!

### 5/5 — really fun to learn with this app

*2025-10-22, version 5.0.247*

i learned about nyc and energy grids in one go!!

### 5/5 — Pretty Clever News App

*2025-07-29*

I see what they’re going for here, and I’m into it. The news is high quality and fun to swipe on, and I like that my engagement with the news does more than just feed me more news on the same topic. Knowing that how my ratings of news actually represents me for matchmaking makes me think a lot more about the context of things.

Plus, the points along the way? Ya I’m a sucker for that. The whole experience makes me feel smart, engaged, and gives me reasons to feel excited (instead of depressed) by what’s happening in the world. Genuinely recommend.

### 5/5 — Taking NEWs to a hole NEW level

*2025-07-09, version 5.0.237*

I was eager to find a new way to read articles without the hassle of looking one up and nine times out of ten ending up not liking the article I spent so long to find in the first place! Well that hassle goes away with Inpress and I’ll be damned it sure did impress me. I learned about the most recent news without having to take a deep dive in the internet to find a somewhat credible source. I haven’t really explored the dating side too much yet, as I am not looking for anyone at the moment but maybe a few people will see this review and want to check me out, who knows! But I could see this app being tinder mixed with a less biased version of CNN or Fox News. But all in all if you wanna hook up with some while also learning something new then look no further than Inpress!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-04-11, version 4.8.188*

Met my best friend through this app!

### 5/5 — A compelling new way to connect and build community

*2024-11-15, version 4.1.8*

This app is not a random dating app that encourages superficial swiping. It’s a thoughtfully developed app where you read interesting news articles, rate each article, and, in turn,
you get matched with different people based on your interests.

What’s compelling about the app is that you’re not just matched with people who think just like you; you’re given a diverse group of options and can decide for yourself if you want to spend time with someone really like-minded or maybe much less so. The entire experience truly encourages media literacy and healthy discourse.

And whether you’re interested in being in a romantic relationship or a platonic one, you have the option of engaging as a “dating” user or a “friends” user, and you can customize your profile to help meet your relationship goals.

### 5/5 — Fantastic Way to Meet New People!!

*2024-11-12, version 4.1.8*

What a great way to get to meet new people in the DC area!! I especially LOVE their friends mode… everyone NEEDS to try. Excited to see this open in more cities!!

### 5/5 — Amazing Interface!

*2024-11-12, version 4.1.8*

I LOVE the app, especially the design. It is easy to use, visually appealing, and is starting to serve as my main news outlet. On top of that, I have gone on some friend dates through the app and have had a blast!

### 5/5 — Great app for meeting friends

*2024-11-10, version 4.1.7*

I’ve used other friendship apps like BumbleBFF and this one is great in how it matches you based on interests, so you don’t have to guess at compatibility based on bios and profile pics. It’s also cool how it serves as a newsfeed as well, and I actually learn new things each time I open it. I will keep using for meeting new friends!

### 5/5 — Great concept and cool people

*2024-09-30, version 4.0.8*

The concept behind this App is great. Read articles, rate articles, rizz people! The variety of articles is great and the App is very clean aesthetically!

Constructive feedback:

1. The article reading experience could be improved. The < Back button on top of the page is not the same theme of the rest of the page.

2. I know it’s possibly redirecting to safari but you could figure out how to remove the empty line alongside < Back button would be great. Give us more screen real estate.

3. Instead of having a snack bar design or drop down menu of “Rate this article” have a circular icon on the right side of the screen.

4. When user click on < Back button you could force them to take a survey if enough screen time has recorded to increase rating rate.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — SCAM ALERT!!! EXPOSING YOUR PRIVATE INFO FOR CASH!!!

*2026-08-27, version 2.1.2*

Do not download this app! They claim to be an "ethical" and "bias-free" alternative to traditional media, but it is all a massive lie. They talk a big game about fixing the news industry, but behind the scenes, they are just a data-harvesting machine disguised as a trendy social app.Every time you "swipe" on an article or rate your feelings, you aren't just reading you are generting free data for them to package and sell to corporate AI labs, polling firms, and shadow researchers.

### 1/5 — No Privacy Option

*2025-10-17*

Setup requires a loooot of personal info. First AND last name, phone number, email, DOB, want my SSN and credit score too? Not giving you all that.

### 1/5 — Privacy policy concerns

*2025-07-20*

Thought this app seemed very interesting to digest news. While signing up, had to manually go to the privacy policy when “forced” to read the Terms. Said privacy policy went to a broken Google doc. Went to main website and privacy policy and Terms broken. Privacy policy on App Store page is broken (against App Store rules). Finally in the first screen of the app, I found a working privacy policy. It’s missing sections 6 and 8, TikTok is misspelled. Lots of third party data sharing policies. No clear direction to delete my data. Then it hit me this is a dating app using the news as the way in to develop your profile and cross sell my data. Compare this to Ground News privacy policy which is clear, succinct, and safe. Will staunchly avoid until privacy policy is updated

### 2/5 — Needs your phone number and location enabled for use

*2025-07-28, version 5.0.240*

I was excited to try this app for news as I divest from socials, but you literally can’t use it if you don’t enable your location. Clearly a data grab. They could have you enter your zip code or select locations of interest to deliver you news - but clearly the data grab is more important to this company. Won’t use, will delete.

### 3/5 — Two Problems

*2026-06-14, version 2.0.6*

1. iPhone only. 2. InPress asked for my telephone number to register. I do not give my telephone number to unknown entities.

### 3/5 — Interesting

*2024-11-08, version 4.1.6*

I like the concept, however, I consume my media through video format. Being required to read articles on stories I already watched is a chore.

### 4/5 — Good news feed, aspiring for connections

*2025-11-22, version 5.0.247*

Inpress started off as a dating centric app, and I haven’t had any matches so far, however, I find it to still be a useful newsfeed as a recently-started user. I’m not sure what’s going on in the background for matches, but the idea certainly holds promise.

### 4/5 — Love this but it’s still early stages

*2024-10-10, version 4.1.1*

I like this app. Like a lot. And I absolutely hate dating apps. I think it serves relevant news from all over the spectrum, not just a few publications.

My only two complains are the fact that some of the news served is “old” (2 weeks old) and that not enough people are on the app. Since it’s geolocked to DC and it’s a new app, I’ve definitely run out of dating matches some days. This is an innovative, personalized, — and most importantly— truly honest dating app. I just think it needs time to grow and work out the kinks.

### 4/5 — Like the concept, keep improving the app

*2024-09-19, version 4.0.7*

This concept for a dating app is pretty novel and cool. The app is relatively user friendly, except for two things.

1. There's no way to unmatch someone without reporting and blocking them.
2. When I try messaging in a thread within a chat, I can't see the messages in that thread.

Only other suggestion is to update the news feed more regularly. Great app overall, though.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-29, version 2.1.2*

Great way to interact with news

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — So easy to keep up with news

*2026-04-30, version 5.3.3*

This app is a great way to have a bunch of news from different political sources all together. I can stay up to date on all the random nonsense going on in the world and don’t need to switch between different websites or sources. Very convenient!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2026-04-02, version 5.3.1*

A ray of hope among a landscape of news despair.

### 5/5 — Factual news without the algorithmic bias!

*2026-02-09, version 5.3.1*

Finally an app that cares about what its users consume and how they consume it. Instead of making the algorithms tell me what to think, InPress instead helps me think, love!

### 5/5 — My Local News Source!

*2026-01-29, version 5.3.1*

InPress gives me timely and relevant news for Chicago I wouldn’t see otherwise. Where social feeds give me national news, InPress shows me important updates for my weather, commutes, and local politics!

### 5/5 — Great alternative to doom scrolling

*2025-11-26, version 5.0.250*

I started using the impress app to stop endlessly scrolling Instagram or TikTok and actually learn something or at least focus on one topic at a time. I know the news I’m reading is real and not meme based or just straight up fake. I notice that I’m choosing the this app rather than other social which I assume is better for my brain and time better spent. The more I use it I’m seeing the topics that interest me more, but it doesn’t seem biased like traditional algorithms. So it feels like I’m more in control of the content rather than the other way around. The gamification and scoring is a nice touch. A great way to stay informed and educated on interesting stories. I haven’t used the social aspect as much, but will probably dive into that eventually.

### 5/5 — Awesome combo

*2025-11-25, version 5.0.250*

The best thing about this app for me is the quality of journalism across the news spectrum. I’m able to easily find stories from reputable outlets, and sometimes even have good exchanges with people. I really like it, use it daily. If I weren’t already married I would absolutely use it for dating too. Great people using the app.

### 5/5 — Creative approach to connecting and learning

*2025-11-25*

InPress is pushing the envelope to create a different way to connect. It’s so hard to meet people in a new city, and I get so excited when I get a match because I know we’ll have shared interests! It takes away the awkward first conversations and lets me make friends off the bat. Love what they are doing!

### 5/5 — Great news unique dating

*2025-11-25, version 5.0.250*

I really was pretty impressed with this app's approach to news and dating. As someone in DC I was bored with meeting and talking to people who were not aligned with my taste and news and out of the blue this app shows up.
Cool interface and way to read news that actually puts it to work for you. Much less invasive than some other dating apps and has the added benefit of gamification that is
engaging but not an endless slop fest. Will definitely recommend to classy or newsy friends who want a fresh app for dating and news.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-11-25, version 5.0.250*

Love this app! InPress delivers news in a way that feels modern, simple, and actually enjoyable to read. The notifications are useful (not annoying), and the mix of top headlines and deeper stories is perfect. I check it every morning now.
