It seems to have disappeared. The same issue occurred again 5 Big stars. A friend told me how to fix my app. I have been using it since 2015 and all of the weather info locked up. I went to the settings in the app and found Restore. Everything fabulous again. It kept me on a route where the road was closed and provided no indication of any traffic jams. Might try again if traffic is monitored. ### 4/5 — One addition needed *2026-07-10, version 9.0.1* This is my go to for RV navigation as it offers more filters than others like RVLife and is cheaper. However, I wish you could filter for grade and not just elevation. A couple of times recently it gave me routes with steep grades that my rig won’t handle. There was a better route, but I had to force it by adding way points to take that route. The routes it chose were also very curvy despite my filtering for least curvy. I recommend anyone using the app to double check the routes before taking them. ### 4/5 — InRoute needs some improvement !! *2026-07-04* InRoute needs some improvement. There should be a way that you can just touch waypoint and change the color and have a pulldown list to mark waypoints as ‘contacted’ or ‘call back’ or ‘supporter’ or ‘not supporter’ for political campaign waypoints. There are many other improvements that can be made, but sadly, because you can never get a hold of the writer of this app and speak directly with them, there’s no way to actually help improve it. **Developer response:** To change a pin's color, you can press and hold on a map pin (or on its Name/ETA pop). For marking points, there are a couple options. First, you could change the pin's Name. On the pin's details screen (select its Name/ETA popup), the Name field at the top is editable. Changing the pin's name will change the name used on the map, in route lists, and announced during voice-guided navigation. Second, there’s also a Notes field further down on that details screen that could be used, and urls and phone numbers become tappable links when you return to that screen. Regarding helping to improve inRoute, we love hearing from people! Under the map's "More" button there's a Contact Support button where we respond quickly to any questions or feedback. ### 4/5 — 1000 Miles and still learning *2026-06-25, version 9.0.1* After a week of travel with InRoute I have a few observations. I love certain aspects especially the route planning and being able to find gas and rest stops when you will need them. Still trying to figure out a few things like setting way points. When I use a small town like Hill City, WY along the route to get off I70 it takes me to the post office in the center of town not the intersection. Anyway nice tour of these towns if I didn’t have a trailer following me. Overall better than any other app for planning, not quite as good as Google Maps for actual navigation. You have to do your own math to measure the distance from points you create. Also, should be able to export a file that can be opened in Google or Apple Maps. To share a map with a traveling companion, they have to download and subscribe to the app. Otherwise InRoute is more robust than the other trip planner apps I’ve tried. ### 2/5 — Love it except one thing *2026-06-18, version 9.0* I use this regularly, however, getting it into an excel sheet afterward is a pain. I have to take a route, route it in a well routed order and then submit that sequence to my client. Should be an easy export to csv or excel. I have been told in the past the feature is coming (years ago) and another major update comes without this feature the only work around is setting it to send in an email and then selecting it all and pasting it all in a sheet. But instead of text numbers they put the little image numbers which don’t copy over so I have to then manually type in 1, 2, 3,… etc. I have been a loyal consumer for almost 10 years and have only ever asked for this one feature. Add this feature and I will bump up to 5 stars. (Another feature would be nice to have is more than 150 sites. I occasionally need to do 300-400 sites or more. Man kann nicht mal Motorrad als Fortbewegungsmittel wählen. (Es gibt Auto, Wohnmobil, zu Fuß) Dafür gibt es aber eine Routenführung nach Niederschlag, Wind oder Temperatur. ### 3/5 — Best Route Planner But … *2026-06-10, version 8.8.7* Best route planner hands down but the Car Play setup needs greater dlexibolity especially the ability to zoom in and out on the fly. Unfortunately when it doesn’t work, there is no support. You could spend hours going in circles in their website only to have no resolution. Very frustrating especially when you pay for a subscription! **Developer response:** Hi Krista, sorry for the trouble. We responded to your email about a map search problem in under 5 minutes. At that time, Apple had a rare outage lasting about 30 minutes affecting their map services (that inRoute also uses). We also sent a follow-up email to you as soon as the issue was resolved. It sounds like you didn't receive them. There may be a problem receiving emails from support@inroute.com on your device. Regarding our website, we haven't had any similar reports so I'm not sure yet. There is a Contact button at the top of every webpage for getting support. Similarly, there are Contact buttons in the app (e.g., "More" > Contact Support) that include version and setting information useful for helping understand/resolve problems. If there’s any sort of traffic it will mess ur route up even when you turn on the ignore closed roads and traffic option in the advanced settings ### 1/5 — Needs improvement *2026-04-21, version 8.8.7* If there were an option to choose how the route is mapped, that would be a massive improvement. Currently, the app defaults to always go to interstate (maybe fastest) for the next pin. This causes unnecessary U-turns/rerouting that’s insane. Simply adding a stay on same road until next pin, shortest route, etc,so that the most direct path is mapped would be a minimum, for the pro (paid) version. I can also make manual changes to the order by dragging the item. If I need to cancel one of the stops, I can remove that stop from the route (keeping it on the list if I want), and it will recalculate. I think the app is very well designed and is very reliable. I preplan our routes, sites to see, restaurants and points of interest allowing me to plan our trip from a global perspective. You can place 150 places of interest on a route, change the colour of each place (say, to note where you will be sleeping overnight), know the distance between stops, and so much more. Amazingly, it can also create for you the shortest travel route connecting 50 and 100 places and it also has a manual option. It also connects effortlessly with the navigation systems.
