View INSA’s incredible GIF-ITI work in real life. The hand painted animated murals by British artist INSA and brought to live when viewed through this new Augmented Reality platform. The term GIF-ITI was coined by artist INSA when he started creating his unique animated paintings; street art that paradoxically is only viewable online. Playing with the idea of creating art to be viewed in the hyperreal domain, GIF-ITI is made via a laborious physical process involving numerous layers of painting and meticulous planning. Starting where most artwork ends, GIF-ITI entails photographing each layer the artist paints by hand. These images are then uploaded and overlaid to create the final piece, a looping GIF file which comes to life when released to global audiences online. Described as: "...slices of infinite un-reality, cutting edge art for the tumblr generation." Now this GIF-ITI app enables audiences the chance to experience the GIF-ITI in real life!! The creator: British artist INSA began his career as a graffiti writer. Known worldwide for his trademark 'graffiti fetish' pattern, painted as large-scale murals around the world, this signature design now envelopes bespoke furniture, the artist's own line of high heels, as well as custom cars, yacht sails, and private collector's homes. INSA's work is held in the V&A collection, London. Installed app, then waited 3 minutes (3 minutes longer than I should have) before I decided to move on. I continued to monitor the app as I went about my business, it eventually loaded after approximately 10 minutes. This app needs to load within seconds otherwise it is useless. Tested on iPhone 7 running iOS 10.3.3. Don't get this app unless the developer has advised the loading delay has been fixed in an update. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2017-09-04, version 1.3.1* After installing, stays loading forever, with a big warning saying it will take a while. It never changes, be it on 4G or wifi. If you want people to walk in the street, see the wall, download the app, it needs to work instantly.
