### 4/5 — Auto-save please...BEST ART APP ive ever tried...

*2026-07-16, version 3.8.10*

Honestly this app isnthe Absolute Best app i have ever had,but heres the thing-i worked on one piece for over an hour, and upon accidentally touching the left arrow on the canvas while trying to shade and blend, the app closed or force closed, which wouldve been fine, if it were not for the fact the only backup i found of that piece was one that featured only the first five minutes of my endeavour... Please add a quick save button on the pallette

### 3/5 — i would have liked to try it before purchasing

*2025-10-27, version 3.8.10*

the brushes have terrible latency for me, and the tool options are extremely limited. it's fine if this is what you like, but it's not what i was looking for and i'm upset i can't return it.

### 5/5 — Really Good

*2023-08-29, version 3.8.10*

It’s a great app and drawing on a whole new level but I wish it would be easier to draw manga characters because that’s how I earn money

### 5/5 — Predictive brush problem

*2023-05-30, version 3.8.10*

I have used this app for many years and found it the very best
The mixing of colours on the screen is fantastic to work with

One main problem I am finding more and more is when I change brushes or types of tools so often it reverts back to the previous one used no matter how carefully I have set the next brush

I absolutely recommend this app to anyone, I am in my eighties and my great grandchildren take to it like a duck to water

Just need some advice re brush selection stability

People are amazed at the pictures you can produce with patience of course
Thanks

### 5/5 — Francois Swart

*2023-05-29, version 3.8.10*

Great program with realistic results!

### 5/5 — A fun art app

*2023-05-08, version 3.8.10*

A good app if you enjoy creating art.

### 5/5 — New User

*2023-03-30, version 3.8.10*

Hello Devs!

Any update on v.4?

Thanks

Just purchased this app and have less than an hour into it. So far, I really like it. One downside, the YouTube channel needs to grow. To the developer: tutorial videos are a must because some of us really pickup better visually than reading a manual and adding some actual drawings from start to finish and how the tools are used, it’s a plus and will attract others. There’s another rival app out there and they got it right. The engine in Inspire Pro 👍👍 Look and feel👍👍 Still exploring and in short, overall this app gets 10 ⭐️

### 5/5 — Can we import pics?

*2023-03-01, version 3.8.10*

Plssss can we import pics, but other that that, amazing game ty for making it!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — I love it

*2023-02-19, version 3.8.10*

It is really really fun to use and play with:EMILY

### 4/5 — Der Name ist Programm - Inspiration zu „Papier“ bringen

*2023-01-30*

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the fantastic review NafetsX, happy to hear you're having fun with your Apple Pencil and Inspire Pro, as well as enjoying the Canvas Playback feature!

Zum Wohl,
snowCanoe

### 5/5 — Satisfying

*2023-01-29, version 3.8.10*

In combination with the Apple Pencil, I am having a blast with this app on my iPad.

### 4/5 — A little confusing

*2022-11-30, version 3.8.8*

This app is so fun but it is confusing sometimes and also can you please add a blurring feature and a tutorial on how to use this
App.

### 5/5 — Vs procreate

*2022-11-30, version 3.8.8*

I actually like the painting tools and the look in this app much better when working with oil.

### 5/5 — An app that keeps you focused on what matters in art.

*2022-10-22, version 3.8.8*

I was a little skeptical to buy this app at first because, frankly, there isn’t much information about it anywhere on the web. When I pulled the trigger, I was initially disappointed because, unlike similar apps, there are no layers. But I realized that this could be to my advantage once I started thinking like a painter. Layers are convenient and sometimes necessary, yes, but without them, it felt like more of an organic experience. I had to really think about what I was doing, be more prepared and take more risks. I found the app to be highly intuitive and was pleased with the results. I think if you have a desire to utilize traditional painter skills and not rely on shortcuts and technology, then you will not be disappointed. It is possible to produce beautiful realistic paintings using this app. It has an abundance of brushes from oil paint to charcoal to markers, etc. Although it’s more expensive than nearly everything else in its class, I still think it was worth it for me and I recommend it highly.

### 5/5 — My most favorite app!

*2022-10-13, version 3.8.8*

I love love love this drawing app. It is a little complicated at first, but very much worth the time investment. After you learn your way around, the different technics are fun and easy to use. Inspire Pro lends it's self very easily to creative process. My only complaint is that once in awhile the switching tools and pallet can be sticky when you first open it up, but it clears up pretty quick.

### 5/5 — A delight to use.

*2022-10-12, version 3.8.8*

A simple free flowing painting app that’s as close to manipulating paint on canvas that you’ll find. I’ve used many painting apps, the price and quality of Inspire Pro can’t be beat.

### 5/5 — Syrup

*2022-09-26, version 3.8.8*

:-) Maple Syrup

Great draw/paint App!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I need a bush

*2026-01-04, version 3.8.10*

I love the app in general but maybe just make a STANDARD BRUSH!?

### 1/5 — Seit Update unbrauchbar

*2023-03-23*

Gutes Tool aber seit dem letzten Update stürzt es nur noch ab !!! Und speichern der Bilder ist auch nicht mehr möglich.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2022-07-05, version 3.8.8*

This app constantly switches back to pastels after I add paint to the brush. This makes it basically useless to me

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly on iPad Pro gen 5

*2021-12-01, version 3.8.8*

Crashes after a couple of minutes every time on my iPad Pro 5th gen ;(

### 1/5 — Needs more fixing

*2020-12-25, version 3.8.7*

I did the update opened the app and it crashed....disappointing also I no longer see some pics that came with the app...homecoming and forest house and the one pic I do have wild territories has marks on the pic like some did an edit....please fix!

### 1/5 — Half my paintings broke?

*2020-10-27, version 3.8.5*

I have about a dozen paintings in the app. I can see them all in the thumbnail gallery view, but when I select or navigate to them half are not there, just a little mini-frame with the title above it. I can’t open any of those broken ones.

### 1/5 — Too bad

*2020-07-20, version 3.8.5*

Using this for years. After recent update everything was lost. Only couple of pictures have survived and everything else is an empty thumbnails :(

### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time.

*2019-10-31*

Buggy and awkward interface. Feels like a throwback to something designed in the 90’s. For example: Try starting a new project, selecting a photo, but change your mind and want a different photo, there is no “back” you have to select “photo” again and start scrolling through your photos from the start again. Almost like no one even tested it or tried to use the app before they released it. Another example, try changing the size of the old-brush, a blank rectangle shows up with no feedback at all about what you’re doing, resizing etc. Oh yeah, no layers? That’s pretty lame. This app feels clunky. I admit the tech of the brush-strokes is pretty cool, but it ain’t no good if the app itself is sub-par. I’d look elsewhere, unless you’re willing to put up with an awkward interface to get a nice brush effect.

**Developer response:** Hi Jam Row,

Thank you for the candid feedback, much appreciated!

The Photo browser is completely taken care of by iOS — we have no control over how it behaves or looks, we can only display it in our app and then use your selected image that it gives us after it is dismissed.

If you are trying to adjust the size of a brush and you don't see a preview, please try shutting down all apps running in the background and then restarting your iPad as this is usually an indication of low system memory (not storage memory) available and this will clear things up for all apps to use, not just Inspire Pro.

Finally, we are still working on a huge update that will include layers and hope to have the beta out soon. Admittedly, it has taken longer than we thought, but it is slowly coming together very nicely.

Thanks again,
snowCanoe

### 1/5 — Well...

*2019-08-08, version 3.7*

I use several art apps, this one disappoints.Over complicated difficult to do details, the paint brushes...unhappy

### 1/5 — Don’t Like It

*2019-07-15, version 3.7*

Nope, don’t like this app at all. You can’t create layers. You have to do your work on ONE layer. It’s not very user friendly. You have to figure out that you need to maximize the canvas in order to see your brushes and other options. If they need testers I’ll volunteer, this app definitely needs improvement. Going to figure out how to get my money back.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2025-12-07, version 3.8.10*

Totally worth the money and it’s really easy to use

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-07-16, version 3.8.10*

I’ve had this app for years and I’ve tried others but nothing compared.

### 5/5 — Still awesome, even without updates!

*2025-06-17, version 3.8.10*

I bought this app for about a couple of bucks many years ago, had it on an ancient IPad that long gave up the ghost and I recently logged into my old Apple ID on my newer 12.9inch iPad and found this app- I have a 6yr old and a 4 year old now -neither of them were even a speck on a planning horizon back when I bought this app. However, now- they are super users. They love doodling and playing on it and I can’t believe this app still works great after 2 yrs of no updates. I know the developers are probably off doing other things now but if you happen to come across this app on your journeys through an App Store- just know it is still a great option and my kids love it- if I had actual artistic talent I am sure I’d be able to say more compelling things about it too.

### 5/5 — Could do with import of other canvases but a great app generally

*2024-12-08, version 3.8.10*

Nicely done and works great on a 12.9" ipad.

### 5/5 — Inspire

*2024-07-11, version 3.8.10*

I am a new iPad user and still getting to grips with a touchscreen device but with this app have produced a couple of decent images. It is easy to use and offers a good range of features which make it a perfect choice for any artistic talent waiting to be realised.

### 5/5 — Let your fingers do the painting.

*2024-02-19, version 3.8.10*

Having seen David Hockney paintings with the iPad it inspired me to have a go..... It really is relaxing and enjoyable. I still keep wanting to wash the paint from my fingers each time , it is that real. Just let your fingers do the painting.

### 5/5 — Love this

*2023-12-27, version 3.8.10*

This is the best painting app.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2023-12-26, version 3.8.10*

### 5/5 — easy to Use and Fun

*2023-10-30, version 3.8.10*
