For me, it’s all about something being tactile and visually interesting and this does it for me. Really lovely to play with during your down time. They are simple to create, pleasant to look at, and interesting to interact with. It would greatly benefit from allowing a user selected amount of mirrors and geometric shape or an ability to load in an image to mirror and the selection of the point where mirroring occurs. Gawd that’s irritating. I saw nowhere that I could actually be the one creating anything. The point is to just slide your finger around to watch what is little more than a screen saver? I hate the waste of my time, by apps that just give you a blank screen, unless you start guessing what they do - and how - by touching things to see what happens. Those could then be used in projects for new art and also to share on social media. ### 3/5 — Nice app but a few glitches *2017-12-08, version 1.0.5* I’ll get the negatives out of the way first... the tools icons will go blank if you leave the app for a short while and come back to it, the icons still work but you cannot see descriptions shape like brush shapes etc. The app doesn’t save an image to camera roll when you use the download button, I found that one out after saving six cool patterns and none were shown in camera roll 🤔 Features... sparse is best to describe this one, hopefully they will add some more brushes and a few more variations on kaleidoscope shapes. Requests... see above for two of them, also would be nice to save a pattern as a preset - as a starting point, also the same could go for colour sets, would also be a nice option to save as a tile for backgrounds. More filters would be good but I suppose it’s a moot point when other apps can be used to manipulate the image. Would love to be able to record the motion without the icons displayed too. Things missing that should be there already... undo and straighten. Other than that it’s a good app and very therapeutic. ### 4/5 — Neat but.. *2021-02-09, version 1.0.5* I have used a couple of mandala apps and this is the first one I have paid for. I was drawn in by the fun colors and cool designs but wish I could zoom in more to do more detailed work (Tip: Zoom option is only available in kaleidoscope mode). I do like that the mandalas can be animated which allows for a new and fun way to manipulate them and play with your creativity. Anyone -I mean anyone- can make beautiful works of art no matter what their level of artistic talent is, or their age. I do wish there were more tools like brush options, more control of the color, BUT, it’s still wonderful as is. If there was a Pro version with more tools, colors, brushes, etc., I would definitely pay for it. My biggest issue now is trying to decide what to do with the 1000+ images I have saved in the last week. I especially love the brush with different colors that you can customize. It takes a bit of practice to find which strokes you like best, but it doesn’t take long. I also like that you can save your favorites to your camera roll to show off.
