I’ve been using instacode for a few years now and yes it does work… most of the time. When you are finding bitting on more than one car a day the app will say no results found when you try to enter vehicle info at which point you have to force quit the app and try again. I’ve tried 4 different iPhones all with the same issue. Their support tried to help but they weren’t able to fix it. This app is still good for the average Joe but if you’re a full time locksmith that needs something reliable then you should look elsewhere.

I used to be able to 1 month subscription at a time now the app wants me to buy a years worth so I can’t pay that one time that’s why I used it monthly now not working

I purchased the full package with high hopes, the 1st let down was you can only use this on 1 mobile device and it’s $30 a month and additional mobile devices would be $30 for each device thereafter.

I get that they don’t want you to share the authorization code with others but if you have 3 locksmith in your shop it’s inconvenient to have to contact the one who has it on their mobile, this information is not presented clearly when making the purchase. They should make a package for this or discount additional devices that would be connected to your account.

2nd let down was it’s difficult to use, car key codes are is easy to find, but not when your trying to find the code for lets say a cam lock or canopy t-handle.

3rd let down was the car opening information, opening a car is easy with a reach tool, it’s not so easy on a car that disables the truck switch when you open the car and the customers keys are in the trunk. I tried the info on the app and was unsuccessful with what it stated. I used a YouTube video to find the info. 

Anyway this is just my take on the app, I would suggest getting HPC code source online and sign up for the AutoProAPP. It’s easy to use, accurate for the most part and cheaper.

Is completely lacking in the transponder section which I paid extra for. After searching multiple known vehicles that are equipped with it little to no info was available or states there's no info available out there currently which is incorrect. They need to step their game up seriously on this front to include diagnostic equipment choices, OBP, immobilizer lockout info, dongle choices, and programming tips. If this is what you're looking for in an app I wouldn't waste your money!!!

Since the 2.0 update I cannot search by Manufacturer/Model and so the app is now pretty useless. Nowhere to report a bug either.

It's not good if you rely on it for work.

And it asks for a serial number to be entered? What serial number!! And how would one acquire this code? This makes no sense!

The software is a much scaled down version of the real software. It's very useful in the field but without cell service it's useless. The app also crashes frequently not just requiring a restart but removal and reinstall.

As a lock smith apprentice this has been one of the absolutely best pieces of software for learning and doing my job, however there’s one thing that could make it soooo much better.
Please, please, please make a search criteria for the description of keys.
for example if I’ve got a customer that has a filing cabinet lock with no key but has a code and no manufacturer; make a search criteria that will show all descriptions that have filing cabinet written in it as well as all the other search criteria, if this feature was added I could see its potential for making locksmith’s lives easier

Use this app primarily for determining missing cuts. Has thus far been very accurate and beyond useful. The convenience is well worth the price. And tech support is always quick to help and resolve issues. Highly recommended.

We use instacode as an app at Access Locksmiths in Ascot, Brisbane. It is an essential for our Mobile Locksmiths on the road for everything from making keys for cars to making filing cabinet keys. Keep up the good work WH Software.

This is only one set of reference materials one needs to correctly make keys. Works good, and fast, and has many codes that others do not have it also has data that others do not. Just remember that this is a reference guide and other references will be needed to have 100% of everything. All stars from me because it works every time, and fills in the blanks 😉😉.
