When I looked up their privacy policy it came up with a blank page. So ….like they say… buyer beware. I don’t have private info on my phone or iPad so don’t really care, but some people have their whole life on their phone. If you are one of those… maybe not the app for you! I use when in field painting. Great to take a pic of the scene and then my painting. Putting side by side it can show where I went off the rails! I’d also like more info on how to use…I seem to go around in circles. You can only choose from the frames and cropping options it gives you. Worst of all it compresses the quality of your images so that they are become really low resolution. 👎🏽 ### 4/5 — Excellent but not perfect *2022-10-05, version 4.0.6* Four stars may be a bit high for this app; I would like to have more fine control of the position of the images in the photo collages I make. But I think the app is clearly better than a three-star product. In fact, I switched to InstaMag after disappointment with another collage app, and I don’t regret it. Plus the fact I can share recipes & pictures. It's a great social experience. ### 2/5 — Surprise AUDIO, "Out of Your Control"! *2020-04-16, version 4.0.6* Insta-Mag, is a nifty tool for your kit. It offers convenient templates, which allows the user creativity, outside the "standard box". User beware however. Some of the templates have permanent watermarks (outside of the "instamag", name), making complete control of an original piece practically impossible. Being forced to have "instamag" plastered on your work is intrusive enough. More disruptive than the annoying watermarks, is the surprise, "audio", which "BLARES on", with the "pop up ads", without warning and invades your "quiet space", without the ability to cut or mute the sound. You best option is to turn down the sound on your device which can present other unintended problems. Simply setting your phone to vibrate or "no sound", does NOT work. I understand Insta-Mag needing to run ads but does the audio really have to be forced upon the user, with little to absolutely no control? It's a very frustrating, invasion and potentially disruptive and "embarrassing", depending on where you are at the time. I'm not quite sure how to score this "Love/Hate", relationship. Kill The "Ad-Audio,Noise" and rekindle the love with this otherwise beautiful, creative and convenient, app! ### 5/5 — 5 star *2020-01-13* So many options and the collages always turn out so nice! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Work a bit more on the UI *2023-01-17* Need to be able to select an album from photos. Not only camera roll. ### 1/5 — Make your photos more special *2022-12-01* I cannot see most of the frames, I have deleted the app numerous times, but still not many frames there. ### 1/5 — Low Resolution Output is a Fatal Flaw *2019-04-28, version 4.0.5* One of the most sophisticated, design driven collage apps available, yet ruined by a low resolution (2.5mp) output that is worthless for printing, only good for social media. When the app was first released several years ago, it had high resolution output, I even have an old non-updated version on an old iPad. In one of the very early updates, the developer trashed the high res output. This is a major disappointment to say the least. But after a recent reinstall to the phone with the latest app, it’s extremely annoying to have to deal with an ad pop up after finishing every photo edit!!! It’s acceptable to get ads upon opening the app but not after EVERY single edit! There are tons of other good apps to choose from. Please stop driving your clients away !!! ### 1/5 — Will not save! *2017-11-22* Perhaps it’s because I haven’t paid for the app. It used to work but at the moment, every step of the edit process has been hijacked by advertising and when I finally got the collage that I was happy with, it did not allow me to save it or do anything else to it. Wasted time and energy! ### 1/5 — templates not flexible *2017-07-20, version 3.8.7* While the templates and designs are really great and beautiful, that is all there is to this app. You cannot resize or zoom out/in the photos. Also, saved files are very small. I wish there was a way to choose to whether save in small resolutions or in Hi-Res.
