### 1/5 — User Unfriendliness Award

*2021-11-09, version 1.5*

Make up a password with all these characters. Sorry, you’ve used invalid characters. Which ones are invalid? That’s a secret. You’ve tried too many times, and your account is locked. What a waste of time!

### 1/5 — Horrific Coding

*2021-09-28, version 1.5*

I very seldom write negative reviews. But…

1) Even if you place a credit card in your in-app wallet, it still pushes you to use your checking account when adding a provider or scanning a bill. Turns out, you are authorizing an SUA via Chase by using this method of payment.
2) The list of cooperating providers is dismal.
3) The coding is ridiculous. For instance, if you try to remove a provider, the pop-up-menu ‘delete’ option covers the area of the provider above it, and clicking on ‘delete’ then opens that provider profile, instead of deleting the one you were aiming for.
4) Navigation throughout the app is labyrinthine and phenomenally confusing.
5) Morgan/Stanley? Seriously?

### 1/5 — How can this be so pathetic?

*2021-07-17, version 1.5*

This app must have been made by some moron stealing WiFi from McDonalds. Nothing works! You cannot find providers. If you add the wrong provider, the remove function does nothing. The help function doesn’t even work. I cannot believe J.P Morgan Chase puts their name on this program. It is beyond embarrassing. I’m not putting my payment information in here!!! There is no way I can trust it will be secure.

### 1/5 — I

*2021-07-14, version 1.5*

Your app needs an overhaul. It did not give me the option to use my HSA card to pay for medical services. The scan did not work. It was not a snap to enter numbers multiple times. Not using this app again. Sending payment by mail.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2021-05-26, version 1.5*

Cumbersome to set up. Tells you info is incorrect when it is not. I deleted it after spending 10 minutes trying to set it up and pay my bill.

### 1/5 — Horrible app + website

*2021-05-04, version 1.5*

Very poor user experience. Spent the last 25 mins trying to pay a $15 bill, unacceptable in this day and age. Tried their site, app, nothing worked as advertised. Scan didn’t work, countless other unnecessary hurdles. Seems they try hard to not accept money? Will try calling the 800 #... wish me luck :)

### 1/5 — Poor design

*2021-04-29, version 1.5*

The app is not user friendly. It takes time to figure it out and it doesn’t save personal details for future payments. It also doesn’t show a statement balance of any kind nor does it give access to any balance through a link or otherwise.

### 1/5 — Epic Fail, Doesn’t Work

*2021-03-17, version 1.4*

Don’t waste your time, I spent ten minutes giving these people my info, got to the end and it didn't work. Can only assume my PHI is out there for the world to see!

### 1/5 — Took 20 minutes to TRY to do what I could’ve done in 5 or less....

*2020-12-11, version 1.4*

Not user friendly, didn’t scan anything I attempted, wound up being forced to enter payment info (but have a card, with no card option)...

Not worth the download.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2020-12-04, version 1.4*

App filled in fields with nonsense, e.g., random words from the statement in the patient name fields. The app filled in patient name as “COMPREHENSIVE EXAM”. Then after I wasted time manually correcting and filling in fields, it provides no way to pay by credit card, debit card, or HSA Account—only checking account or savings account. Total waste of time. They should hire a new tech team to design and test an app that actually functions.
I tried again many months later—app not improved at all. Still unusable. I deleted it.

### 1/5 — Poorly designed

*2020-10-22, version 1.4*

The designers of this app have obviously never actually used it. “Pay Bill” DOESN’T take you to a payment screen for your recurring accounts/payments. In fact, the accounts tab gives no indication that a bill can be paid there either.
They really need input from the people who use it. I would never use such a poorly designed app if I didn’t have to.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2020-10-17, version 1.4*

This is so much work it was easier to stop 2/3 of the through and just pay my provider through my online bill pay which meant I had to enter all the info again. What a mess

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2020-09-26, version 1.4*

Scanned bill wouldn’t transfer the info so I had to enter it manually. Also tried to set up my patient account and it didn’t recognize it.

### 1/5 — Not Easy

*2020-08-30, version 1.4*

Although it scans my bill it insists that I use my bank account to pay. Even after I added my HSA card to my wallet it still won’t let me use it. Ended up paying the usual way. Save yourself a headache and don’t bother downloading this app and pay your usual way.

### 1/5 — Only if you have time to waste

*2020-08-26, version 1.3*

I agree with most of the comments so far posted. It’s unbelievable that an app with such poor usability has been released. It seemed like first time usage and set up was going to be difficult and then it would be easy, but after spending 25 minutes to pay one bill and not succeeding because of the circular logic and disconnects in the work flow, I gave up. Anything would be easier than using this app, including driving to the provider and paying in person.

### 1/5 — This app is a joke

*2020-08-25, version 1.3*

The provider search is broken, if you select the wrong provider, you are unable to remove the provider from your dashboard. If you select the remove button, the app sends you to the make payment screen. The button doesn’t work.

I was unable to remove the keyboard from the screen to view the full list of providers.

If you press the help button, nothing happens. Again, the button doesn’t work.

These errors were identified within the first two minutes of using the app.

Horrible app this is a zero star rating!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesnt work

*2022-10-21, version 1.7*

This app crashes constantly or doesn't load. I tried to set up automatic payments and all I get is a blank screen. I emailed to get help and all they said was ‘use a desktop’. Don't waste ur time with this app and ppl that can’t get it to work properly!

### 1/5 — Extremely Problematic App

*2022-10-07, version 1.7*

Nothing cohesive or easy about this app. Keeps asking for account number but won’t accept the one I type in (yes, numbers are correct and verified)! Too many weird glitches and annoyances to write out and I’ve already spent way too much time wrangling with this disastrous app to write them all out. I’d rather write a check and add the stamp cost than use this app any day!

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2022-07-08, version 1.7*

Waste of time. Didn’t pull up my account or let me pay my bill. Easier for me to actually drive to the doctors office to pay.

### 1/5 — And have you tried the contact button?

*2022-06-24, version 1.7*

I filled it out completely and it gave me the message “Nickname already in use” so I couldn’t pay my bill. I hit the contact button, filled it out completely with a good explanation of my issue, and hit submit, only for nothing to happen. Couldn’t contact anyone. I’m done with this product.

### 1/5 — The worst of the worse!

*2022-04-04, version 1.7*

I never write reviews but this is the worst App to pay medical bills. I mentioned to my OBG that using this App has caused me so much trouble; bills are still unpaid even after processing the bill two or three times. It’s a nightmare! Why Axia Women’s Health force me to pay my bill through this App? When I call to pay over the phone the lady was rude…Overall it’s been a horrible experience.

### 1/5 — Same bad experience

*2022-03-27, version 1.7*

It is frustrating trying to pay a bill using a iPhone and InstaMed using Google. So I tried downloading this app, hoping it would be easier. Nope!! Same exact terrible experience. When I try to tap on something from a pop up window then the window disappears rather than doing what it is supposed to do. I still haven’t paid the bill….. I think.

### 1/5 — Scary that this incompetence is allowed with a medical payments app

*2022-03-19, version 1.7*

I figured I would give this app a try because I prefer to pay my bills online. The look and feel of the app has “you’re about to get scammed” vibes all over it. You can’t find an account balance anywhere and every click made me feel uneasy entering my personal information. I’m going to write a check instead. I already feel like my personal data and security have been compromised.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2022-02-05, version 1.7*

If you are itching to waste 20 minutes with a glitchy interface that autocorrects what you are searching for in the providers, loops you around a few times to set up the account , doesn’t find the account number on your bill, and doesn’t integrate with any of the features on the iPhone that normally make bill paying a joy, then use this app.

### 1/5 — Forces you to Receive all bills as email

*2021-12-20, version 1.7*

It’s annoying to setup and if you use it you are forced to use ebill form now on. I just want to pay my Bill that I got in the mail. I don’t want to be forced into email bills. It amazes me how hard it is to pay Dr bills online.

### 1/5 — Catastrophic app

*2021-12-20, version 1.7*

It loops from “Needs to update” in app to App Store. In App Store (since I have already updated) it says “Open”. When I press Open, I am returned to the app and it says “Update” and then I am back in a never ending loop. Apple App Store - how did you allow this buggy app/version to go through?!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It works and its easy

*2023-03-09*

I was very hesitant on using the app after reading so many 1 star reviews. I gave it a try and it was sooooooo easy. I entered my account number from the bill I received and also I entered the physician business name and viola!!! The system found my name and the amount matching how much I owed.
I paid the bill and the rest is history. I will continue using the app.

### 5/5 — Worked without a hitch!

*2022-07-26, version 1.7*

I was hesitant after some reviews, but still downloaded the app. Got out my bill and followed the instructions. Easy peasy! Done in no time with bill paid!

### 5/5 — It’s secure

*2020-04-18, version 1.2*

As a Retired Network Engineer, it’s a safe and secure App. Works great for me. I’m a Lung Cancer Survivor and this sure does make it easy to pay my medical bills and they keep coming.
I’m alive and a Lung Cancer survivor and that the most important thing.

### 5/5 — Easy and convenient!

*2018-06-01, version 1.0*

I love using this app to pay my bills...it’s so easy it setup and pay! Taking a pic of the statement and paying it is really awesome!

### 5/5 — Perfect app to pay the bills

*2018-05-25, version 1.0*

I like the ability to pay the bill by taking a picture of the statement

### 5/5 — Snapped and Paid!

*2018-05-25, version 1.0*

Just downloaded this app and took a picture of my statement and paid it in less than a minute. Highly recommended if you don’t want to go over all hassles paying healthcare bills

### 2/5 — Automatic payment set up - after I already paid!!

*2023-03-01*

I have not used the app, only the website, but I don’t think it would be any different since it’s the same system.

I get an email notification to pay my bill. I pay it online via credit card, all’s good.

A day or so later, I get a notification that an automatic payment is scheduled for the amount I just paid. What? So I check the website, and I have no balance, but there is an automated payment for the same amount, scheduled for two weeks from now. I almost thought it was referring to my previous payment, except for the date and the fact that it’s set up on a different card. So I cancel the automatic payment because it’s clearly a mistake.

Here’s the kicker - I then get an email saying that my automatic payment agreement has been terminated! Which is not what I wanted, I just wanted to cancel an automatic payment that should not have been there. But the more I think about it, I can’t trust them to handle automatic payments correctly anyway, so it’s probably better that way.

I will keep using InstaMed because that’s what my dermatologist uses, and I don’t go often enough for it to be that big of a deal. I will just have to keep an eye on it to make sure nothing weird happens, I’m just hoping that with automatic payments turned off I won’t have to deal with that.

### 2/5 — Not easy or convenient

*2021-11-24, version 1.5*

App constantly asks me to confirm email address. Still trying to get a receipt for my payment but app doesn’t seem to be communicating with my healthcare provider. I’ll stick to paper thank you.

### 2/5 — Scanning almost useless

*2020-06-06, version 1.3*

I needed to enter a lot of info by hand. Minimum convenience. Also could not use credit cards to pay. Only a bank account. I did not trust it’s security to reveal my bank account.

### 2/5 — Limited payment options

*2020-01-30, version 1.2*

You have to store a credit card number or bank account in the app and there is no option to use Apple wallet.
