### 2/5 — Not what I was promised

*2026-08-14, version 3.86.0*

I'm new to the instant pot world so I thought getting the pot that had an app with a bunch of connected recipes that were already programmed to work with my device would be a good start. 2000+ would mean plenty of variety and an excellent opportunity to explore and experiment. However, not only are there less than 100 recipes (a far cry from 2000+), but there are a decent number of duplicates and you have to pay attention to the times and other details because not only are many of them not by the instant pot team, but details like timing aren't even recorded correctly on everything. In one rice recipe for instance, the time listed at the onset is 16 minutes but one of the steps says to cook it for 30. Who knows what else is wrong. The ingredients are also limited. chances are that you type in an ingredient or a word in a common recipe into the recipe search as you are supposed to do and it will come up empty. I will be looking online and my local library for more recipes. The app is not worth the extra money

### 3/5 — Creating Recipes Challenging

*2026-06-05, version 3.84.2*

There needs to be a more user-friendly way to create recipes. For example, how to delete a created recipe? Ingredients section is shown but how to list them in that section?

### 2/5 — Recipe creation broken

*2026-05-30, version 3.84.2*

Why force us to use a recipe creator that doesn’t work properly? Entered all data for a step and can’t save it

### 2/5 — Found bug that makes custom recipes difficult

*2026-05-25, version 3.83.3*

Overall good, but for Pro Plus making a custom recipe beginning with pressure cooking step allows you to change high, medium, max but not change cooking time. Obviously a big, needs to be fixed urgently, I’ll change my star rating when it’s done

### 3/5 — Created Recipes Not Saved

*2026-05-23, version 3.83.3*

I had to delete and reinstall the app to change network and lost all my created recipes. They should have been saved to the cloud.

### 2/5 — Limited functionality

*2026-05-18, version 3.83.3*

Missing some functionalities that I consider “basics”. Like when cooking beans, there’s no option for soaked beans, only dry. Or when making yogurt, there’s no choice between the boiling or fermenting steps. There’s probably more, but these are all I’ve experienced in one week of use.
Of course you can google cooking charts or use the physical buttons, but since the whole point of the app is to manage it hands-off and make things simpler, it seems very counterintuitive to have such limited functions.

There also aren’t a ton of recipes in the app, but that doesn’t bother me much. Usually I find recipes online anyways.

### 2/5 — Bad acting

*2026-05-11, version 3.79.0*

Okay, a Canadian company product but you’re locked into the imperial system. And can change serving size

Not acceptable, pass.

### 4/5 — Great app and recipes!

*2026-04-26, version 3.79.0*

Wish I could sort my recipes within the app. Would be a great update

### 2/5 — Useless app

*2026-03-21, version 3.79.0*

This app is pretty useless. Recipes are bad, there is no way to find anything you want as the search option is not existent. Been using this for years bit recently i don’t even think about using it anymore

### 4/5 — Just brilliant but for 2 things

*2026-03-09, version 3.78.0*

Review update. Keep warm function is now accessible using VoiceOver. I don't know about the delay start time as I haven't investigated that yet, and for some reason, I no longer receive notifications. This may have more to do with our Wi-Fi issues than the instant connect app itself, so I'll keep investigating this. Would be interested though to see if others have experienced this. One extra star added I've been a member of the instant pop family for some years now and one of the challenges I've had is that, being blind, I've had to memorise all the controls and their settings, or have something to write them down on so I know where I'm up to. I got an early Christmas present of the instant pot Wi-Fi pro for Christmas and my husband wanted me to make sure I could use it and that it was accessible. Wow! What a game changer this is. The app is accessible with VoiceOver with a few little workarounds, and most importantly I can see what's going on on the screen of my instant pot and I can set it by myself with very little help from anybody else, except for when something goes wrong and if I don't have the correct touchscreen markings marked up. Honestly, what a game changer this is. I've just discovered however the one tiny floor, there is no delay start function which means I have to remember to set a reminder so my pot starts doing its thing in time for when I finish work. If there is a venting timer, why not a delay start one as well? I would also really love it if they brought back scalings. This is something that I put in my previous review, but still haven't seen. Not everybody is feeding a family of four, or has a family of four that will eat lots of vegetables and good stuff. Other than that, keep up the good work. You've no idea what a life changer this is. Thank you again.

### 2/5 — Don’t bother if u don’t hv Wi-Fi / air fryer instant pot

*2026-02-28, version 3.77.0*

What a disappointment this was. Because I have just a regular all instant pot pro without all the bells and whistles and without Wi-Fi and without a built-in air fryer, there are only a handful of recipes for me. And they’re repeated over and over in different sections. I’m a chef and I wanted something quick and easy for home with my instant pot but this doesn’t fit the bill at all.

Deleting

### 2/5 — Fix your recipes please

*2026-02-15, version 3.76.2*

Many of your recipes are incorrect with regards to cooking time and which release to use. With the price of food these days it’s important that you give the right information so people aren’t wasting food. I will have to figure out what to do with the awful rubbery chicken. Do better. Please.

### 3/5 — My experience with the app

*2026-02-02, version 3.75.2*

The app’s phone control currently relies too much on preset recipes and ingredient categories, and it lacks a true manual mode. In real use, when I want to control cooking directly from the phone—such as setting my own cooking method, time, or heat for simple tasks like steaming or stewing—I’m forced to choose mismatched presets, which often leads to inaccurate timing or results. I hope future updates can add a genuine Manual or Advanced Mode in the app that allows users to freely adjust parameters while keeping the existing recipe-guided experience. I finally found the manual control mode for this cooker, but the accessibility experience on the mobile app still needs significant improvement.

In the manual control mode, the time selection is almost unusable with screen readers. The time picker cannot be accurately read or adjusted, making it very difficult for visually impaired users to set precise cooking times.

Another major issue is the inconsistent interaction design. In ingredient and recipe modes, the cooking process can be started directly from the app. However, in manual control mode, users are required to press the physical start button on the cooker after setting everything in the app. This design is especially unfriendly for users who rely on mobile control, particularly those with visual impairments, and it creates unnecessary confusion.

I understand the need for additional safety confirmation, but I hope future updates can provide a truly app-based manual control mode while maintaining safety, and significantly improve accessibility for critical functions like time selection.

The product itself has a lot of potential, but the current software design clearly does not fully consider the real-world needs of accessibility users.

### 2/5 — No dark mode. No swipe backward and forwards.

*2026-01-21, version 3.75.1*

No dark mode. No swipe backward and forwards. There should be categories on left hand side.

### 1/5 — Ruined by AI

*2026-08-24, version 3.86.0*

Formerly a useful app, but they added an AI tool and appear to have seeded their data with generated recipes. Just using the regular search gave me a recipe “from the instant pot team” that when followed exactly gave me chicken that was still raw in the middle. I’m not new to cooking with an instant pot, but I like to pull up recipes to make sure I’ve got the times and settings correct. Something felt off about what the app spat out, but I figured I’d try it. Nope, garbage recipe. This was a huge disappointment and I will be deleting the app. It’s not worth my time to play russian roulette over whether or not it’ll give me a recipe that cooks things all the way through.

### 1/5 — Want print facility

*2026-05-29, version 3.84.2*

I do not want to refer to my iPad or iPhone while cooking - if i find a recipe that i like i want a printed hard copy to refer to. Frustrating - it will lead me to delete the app in due course

### 1/5 — So useless

*2026-04-16, version 3.79.0*

The most frustrating to search for any simple recipe. All I wanted was a recipe to make yogurt with the yogurt function. Gives me recipes that use yogurt as an ingredient. Completely useless as there is no way to sort or filter results. There’s no categories for dishes. Deleted.

### 1/5 — App Does Not Work

*2026-03-19, version 3.78.0*

This app doesn’t work. It freezes after the sign in page. Terrible

### 1/5 — Overcomplicated

*2026-02-02, version 3.75.2*

Roasted nectarines are cute and all, but why isnt there a recipe for a run of the mill pot roast where i can select the cut of meat and weight and hit start. I dont need another recipe planning app. 🙄

### 1/5 — Useless. Impossible to register

*2026-01-31, version 3.75.2*

App requires registration, yet fails to register. As a result, unable to get into app. Any attempt to sign in after registering says “failed to find account”. Useless.
There are far better recipe apps elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Good cookware, bad app

*2026-01-29, version 3.75.2*

This app used to be something you could use to store and categorize recipes.

Now, it’s a data harvesting scheme where they force you to bypass several screens before you even see a recipe.

### 1/5 — No Bluetooth Support for Instant Pot Smart

*2026-01-28, version 3.75.1*

I bought my Instant Pot Smart way back in December of 2016. I moved several times since then, and was happy to find this gem in an old box. When I plugged it in, however, downloaded the official app, and tried to connect it to my iPhone, I was extremely disappointed to find that my model is no longer supported. Or, if it is supported, how to connect, monitor, and control my Instant Pot with my phone is not readily obvious. Please add support, again, for what was the OG model that made Instant Pots so wildly popular in the first place. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Inconsistent recipes.

*2026-01-25, version 3.75.1*

Most recipes are incomplete. Other recipes that are similar have conflicting instructions for the same ingredients.

### 1/5 — New users, don’t get this

*2026-01-20, version 3.75.1*

First time using instant pot. Followed a recipe to a tee on their app, it burned my meal due to lack of liquid (adding liquid worked later). I had to use search to figure this out. They don’t know how to write their own recipes. Waste of time, don’t bother unless you’re already a pro and can catch stuff like that. Look somewhere else.

### 5/5 — Best recipe App

*2026-05-14, version 3.83.3*

This is a great App for the instant pot. I constantly look up recipes to try out and so far they have been great

### 5/5 — Step-by-Step Instructions Are the Best

*2026-03-25, version 3.79.0*

These recipes are well thought out and the step by step process makes all the difference. I also like that I can search a key ingredient and the app comes back with several recommendations. And the fact that I can save my favorite recipes in my own box is a very nice touch.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2026-03-02, version 3.77.0*

Brilliantly simple app with some great recipes for inspiration. I love that you can edit the recipe to make it your own, and add notes! Perfect!

### 5/5 — So excited!

*2026-02-20, version 3.77.0*

I am 70 years old, and frankly sometimes I am technology challenged! This Pro Plus was a gift from my brother and honestly, I was a bit overwhelmed when looking at all of it! The step by step directions are so helpful, but the machine does everything for me from my phone! I love this pot!

### 5/5 — Ultimate Swiss Army Kitchen Cooker

*2025-12-25, version 3.72.0*

Love it! So many meal options and great time saver!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2025-12-22, version 3.72.0*

Good variety of recipes. Enjoying it and the appliance ease of use

### 5/5 — InstaPot

*2025-12-20, version 3.72.0*

5 Star Awesome cooking appliance. I received this as a Christmas Gift and I’ve fallen in love with how accurate and easy it is to use. Yes, I was a bit skeptical of using a pressure cooker due to a bad experience with the old kind my Mom used to have. This InstaPot has instilled a new found appreciation for using a Pressure Cooker again. LOVE IT ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — Seems pretty good so far

*2025-09-10, version 3.65.0*

Only think that I’m puzzled over is the fact that I done see the size pot that they are using in the recipes! And that’s crazy!
