I can keep using Notion for notes *2023-03-24* Without this app, Notion took awhile to fire up and get to the page I wanted. Even with shortcuts Notion often brought me to my other workspaces and it required even more clicks, enough to make me very frustrated. I’m so happy I found this app, it does exactly what I needed, keep using Notion and take notes instantly. ### 5/5 — Simplifies A Notion user's life *2023-01-03* Awesome little app that does exactly what it says. There are a couple of ideas that come to mind (like being able to select an additional field with default value set so that one could easier identify all notes taken from this app meaning that they need some further processing), but the app is already awesome as is! **Developer response:** Thanks a lot for kind words and your feedback. It’s very effective. Its very very good if you’re looking for quick capture whilst you’re about your day without the hassle of opening notion on your phone. If I were to ask for an update would be to setup more than one link, it’s shouldn’t be too difficult for that feature. Very handy to writing very fast notes, like an idea or a journal entry. But it has never been good for quick capture. It takes too long to load, find a database, create a new note, and apply tags. It’s a lot of friction when you just want to jot something down before you forget. Instant Notion fills that gap beautifully. It is simple, clever, and instantaneous. My jaw dropped when I saw I’d have to pay more for this simplistic micro app than I do for Notion itself. It sure would be nice to have the smaller widget option though. ### 4/5 — The only way to capture your notions quickly *2024-01-06* The Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets are a game changer. Instantly tag your notions with database relevant tags! So far it doesn’t work with inline databases so you won’t see your tags from there autogenerated. I do wish it has that function, but it’s such a great app I’m willing to wait for future update that hopefully includes it. Also it would be super cool if it uploaded your notions to the app itself. But you can quickly input the notions yourself from this app so again, willing to wait for that function. ### 4/5 — Exactly the app I was looking for but… *2023-09-28* The premium features are just too expensive. $4.50/m or $20/yr is ridiculous for an app that just drafts your Notion notes. Here’s the thing… I literally would happily pay $1/m for this, and I would also instantly pay $11/yr if that option was there. This app is something I think most Notion lovers would definitely use and pay for… since Notion will never create this feature themselves. But I just really don’t think a ton of people will pay almost $5/m for it. I would even buy the app outright for a one-time $15. I understand the need to keep a business going but in the long term I don’t think it’ll payoff. I don’t NEED the widgets, more databases, and whatever else the premium brings. It’s more of a “nice to have.” **Developer response:** Hey Eddie, thanks for sharing the feedback, really appreciate it! Pricing is super hard for apps like this, as on one hand it's months of work to create a useful app (maaany weekends!), but on the other hand I'm aware that not everyone will happily pay $20 a year for a utility app. While I'll continue to experiment with prices, in the meantime I decided to try to make the free version of the app really useful to 'typical' users and put the more advanced features to the Pro version, to give users a choice. I stumbled Instant Notion shortly after its inception, and cannot imagine my life without it. It is one of the few widgets designated to the first page of all my Apple devices. Any time my hyperactive brain surfaces another idea or random thought, I use Instant Notion to immediately capture it before I inevitably forget. I am a Pro subscriber, and it is a no brainer for my personal workflow. At one point I reached out to the developer on Twitter and they promptly replied with helpful insight. Since developing apps starting in 2009, this is easily in my top five…top three even? Nerd reference: This is the Apollo of thought capture (short-hand note taking). ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2023-09-04* Does what it says and fills my need for quick notes! Would love a larger “save/submit” button when saving as the clickable region is small, but would be amazing if it was the entire phone wide space and slightly taller too. I wish it could have also a way to pass, not only text and tags, but a Date field. That would be awesome. Hopefully the developer is thinking about it….
