The app does not format your face correctly and cuts off the lower part of your head. **Developer response:** Hi Mar1!n, we're sorry the photo didn't come out right. The cropping is adjustable: on the Preview screen, there are three crop styles: Recommended, Wider, and Tighter. If the lower part of your head was cut off, switching to Wider gives more space around the face and should fix this. We've also continued improving the face detection in newer versions. We'd like to make it right. If you made a photo recently, check it against your document's current requirements before you submit it. BACKGROUND COLOUR Some documents ask for a background other than white. The app now produces the right one instead of always using white. A WARNING BEFORE YOU PAY Some authorities do not accept photos that have been edited on a computer, and some ask for a particular background. The app now tells you before you pay when a rule like that applies to the document you picked. FIXED An export could sometimes finish without producing a photo. The app now stops instead, and the export it would have used is given back to you. ### 1.5.1 — 2026-08-22 CHECK BEFORE YOU PAY The app now checks the photo as soon as you take it, before anything is charged. It looks at what only a retake can fix: head angle, eyes open, neutral expression, one face in the frame, focus and lighting. If something is wrong it says what, so you can take another photo rather than pay to find out. UPLOAD SIZE LIMITS Government portals often cap the file size they accept. You can now save a copy that fits 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB. Quality steps down until it fits and the pixel dimensions never change, because the dimensions are the part your document actually specifies. FEWER FALSE WARNINGS "Uneven lighting" used to appear on photos that were lit perfectly well. It was measuring the whole picture, so dark hair against a pale wall, or a head turned a little to one side, read as a lighting fault. Lighting is now measured on the face itself, and a turned head is reported as a turned head. ### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-16 Better photo checks. Before you export, the app now measures your photo and tells you what it found — head size, head angle, eyes open, neutral expression, focus and even lighting — and says plainly when the top of your head or your chin falls outside the frame.
