## What is InstantSam?

InstantSam reads federal contract solicitations for you, up to fifteen attachments on a notice, and tells you what the work is, what it requires and what would disqualify you. Then it drafts your proposal from your own record, tracks every bid you chase, and shows you what you win and why you lose.

WHAT IT DOES WITH A SOLICITATION

Open any notice and have the documents read. You get back:

- The scope of work, in plain language
- Every mandatory requirement, with the sentence it came from
- How offers will be evaluated
- What would make your offer non-responsive
- The risks worth knowing before you bid

HOME: WHAT NEEDS A DECISION TODAY

InstantSam opens on what needs a decision: amendments to notices you are pursuing, deadlines this week, and closed bids with no result recorded.

NOTICES: SEARCH, MATCHES AND ALERTS

Search every open federal opportunity by keyword, NAICS code, agency or set-aside, and save a search as an alert.

WHETHER YOU CAN BID

Save your NAICS codes and set-aside statuses once. Every notice then opens with a straight answer: strong match, worth a look, or probably not, with the reasons.

WHAT CHANGED

When a pursued notice is amended, InstantSam says what changed: a moved deadline, a changed set-aside, new attachments, a cancellation.

YOUR PROPOSAL, DRAFTED

Each section of your outline is drafted from what it must answer, quoted from the solicitation, and from your own company record. A fact only you can supply is marked in brackets; prices are never written. Redraft a section with your own instruction and share the draft in Word.

PURSUITS: EVERY BID YOU ARE CHASING

Create a pursuit from any notice in one step. Move it from Watching to Bidding to Submitted, then record Won, Lost or No bid, and why.

REPORTS: WHAT YOU WIN, AND WHY YOU LOSE

Win rate, won value, median award and how long bids take, from the results you record, and why pursuits ended.

THE REST

- A deadline calendar, including when questions close
- Reminders before an 8(a), WOSB, HUBZone or SDVOSB certification expires
- Award outcomes: who won what you pursued, and what they were paid

INSTANTSAM IS NOT SAM.GOV

InstantSam is a privately operated commercial software service from InstantSam LLC. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or operated by the United States Government, the General Services Administration, or the System for Award Management. SAM.gov is a free service of the US Government, and you can register and search there at no cost. What you pay InstantSam for is the software.

Opportunity and registration data comes from SAM.gov. Award and spending data comes from USASpending.gov. Both are public US government sources.

AI analysis is a research aid, not legal or contractual advice. Always confirm requirements and deadlines against the official notice on SAM.gov before you bid.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.26 — 2026-10-23

Proposals
- A Proposal tab on every notice holds the whole proposal: the outline, the AI draft and the drafting guides.
- Pro drafts your proposal from your outline. Each section is written from what it must answer, quoted from the solicitation, and from your own company record. Where a fact only you can supply is missing, the draft says so in brackets. Prices are never written.
- Watch the draft being written, read each section with the requirements it answers and the ones it does not yet, redraft a section with your own instruction, and share the draft as a Word file. Editing is on the website.
- 5 drafts a month on Pro, each with 3 section redrafts.

Document review
- The review now runs in the background with a progress line. Leave the screen and come back: the review will be there.
- Reviews read far more of each notice: up to fifteen attachments, including scanned pages and pictures, old Word and Excel files and PowerPoint.
- If your team's review of a notice was written before its scanned pages could be read, the app offers to read it again with them, free.

Also
- The AI Bid Assistant shows how many uses are left this month.
- Teams whose company has set up single sign-on can sign in through Okta, Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace.

### 1.0.25 — 2026-10-15

The app now matches the website, screen for screen.

A new frame

Every screen is built the same way: a breadcrumb that says where you are, the pages of a section as tabs under the heading, and white cards on a quiet ground.
Narrow: on Notices, Matches, Alerts, Pursuits, Closing soon and every list under Research, a Narrow button opens the same filters the website has, with a count beside every value so you can see what a tap will leave.
Plain English search: type what you are looking for, in your own words. The app reads the trade, the agency, the state, the set-aside and the dates out of the sentence, shows what it read, and lets you search the words as typed instead.
Fit on every row: Strong, Worth a look or Probably not, from your company profile, on Notices, Matches, Pursuits and Home (Pro).
Opportunities

Closing soon shows your own pursuits by the day they close, or everything closing, and lets you hide the kinds of date you do not need.
The recompete radar's Start capture now does something: one tap sets an alert on the trade and the agency, so you hear the day the solicitation posts.
A notice opens with its pursuit first, the facts at a glance, a milestones line from the posting to the deadline, and every analysis panel in its own card.
Research

Market view and company records draw their numbers as charts: obligations by year with the year still being written in orange, who buys, who wins and how crowded it is.
Companies, Officers, Awards, Forecasts, Contract vehicles, Grants, State and local, SBIR and STTR and DLA DIBBS each narrow with a count beside every value.
Admin

Team, Company profile, Capability statement, Integrations, Plan and Your profile share one set of tabs, so moving between them is one tap.
Registration numbers can be typed and saved on their own, with or without the SAM.gov lookup.
Also

A Daily update email switch under More, then Notifications.
The Plans screen shows an introductory price only when Apple says your account qualifies.

### 1.0.24 — 2026-10-13

More places to find work, and more to decide with once you have found it.

New for everyone
- Grants: federal funding on Grants.gov, posted and forecast, with who may apply.
- State and local: open bids from eight portals, in Texas, New York City, Florida, North Carolina, Los Angeles, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Illinois.
- SBIR and STTR: Department of Defense topics, and the SBIR and STTR grants on Grants.gov.
- DLA DIBBS: requests for quotation from the daily index, by NSN and class.
- A workspace on every pursuit: tasks with an owner and a due date, notes, a go or no-go decision kept with the evidence you had when you made it, and one timeline of everything that happened.
- Two-factor authentication: add a code from an authenticator app to your sign in, under Your profile.

New with Pro
- Competition on every notice: how many offers this office's similar awards drew, how often only one came in, and who won.
- Win likelihood: Likely, Possible, Unlikely or Not eligible, with every reason listed so you can check it.
- Price to win: what this office has paid, the ceiling rates already awarded for the labor categories the solicitation names, and an estimate you build and keep with the pursuit.
- Submission package: the forms, volumes, page limits and formats the solicitation asks for, each with your file attached, as one zip in the order the agency wants.
- Section guides: for every section of your proposal, what it has to prove, how it will be scored, its page limit and the evidence to reach for. The words stay yours.
- Forecasts: planned purchases before they are posted, from the federal forecast and the City of Boston buying plan.
- Market view: who buys what you sell, who keeps winning it, and how much goes to small businesses.
- Company profiles: any winner's awards, agencies and contracts ending soon, one tap from their name.
- Contract vehicles: the contracts that orders are placed under, in your trades.
- A calendar feed for Google or Outlook with your deadlines, questions due dates and next actions.

Safer
- The app lock keeps time with a clock that changing the phone's time cannot fool.
- Signing out takes your phone off notifications, and keeps trying until it has.
- Links in a review open only web and email addresses, and pictures in a review are never loaded.

### 1.0.21 — 2026-10-05

iPad support. InstantSam now runs properly on iPad, with a readable column rather than a stretched phone layout, so a two hundred page solicitation review is actually comfortable to read at a desk.

Also in this release:
- The deadline calendar now shows the date questions close, pulled out of the attachments
- Wage determination warnings on notices covered by the Service Contract Act or Davis-Bacon
- Fixes to alert deletion, which could previously fail without telling you
- A failed load now says so, instead of showing an empty list

### 1.0.20 — 2026-09-23

Brighter, clearer screens, and a long list of fixes from a full audit.

New in Reports

Pipeline now: what is in play at each stage, and what it is worth.
Win rate by value, beside win rate by count.
Where pursuits drop out, from watching to bidding to submitted.
What is due in the next 7 and 30 days.
Question deadlines closing in the next 14 days, and whether you have a draft.
Checklist readiness, including anything open that would disqualify a bid.
Who carries what, per person.
Where you win, by agency, NAICS code and set-aside.

Fixed

Your checklist, question draft and Sources Sought letter now stay with a notice after it is amended, instead of appearing to vanish.
Question deadlines are found more often: we now read the notice description on SAM.gov as well as the attachments, and carry a date across amendments.
The review screen no longer says a review is free when it would use one.
Re-running a review keeps the old one on screen until the new one arrives.
The keyboard no longer covers the sign in, sign up, checklist and note boxes.
Removing a teaming partner now asks first.
Files open with a fresh download link, instead of an expired one.
Home shows figures for the view you picked, not the one before it.
A completed purchase is never reported as a failure.
Sorting on search, names instead of email addresses, and many smaller fixes.
