Terrific discount for first time user If you’re on the fence, do it! ### 1/5 — Scam App Beware *2025-08-22, version 1.0.8* This app reached out to me and offered a job they had ready on their platform for me and my team to complete but as soon as I downloaded the app they ghosted me and I didn’t have this job I booked resources for. Don’t use this app. ### 1/5 — Unqualified provider, damage to my home, and zero accountability *2025-07-31* Instaservice sent someone to install a kitchen hood who had no idea what he was doing. He worked 7 hours, made multiple mistakes, and still couldn’t finish the job. A second provider completed it in 2 hours. The first guy also put a hole in my wall that had to be patched later. Instaservice partially covered the cost of that repair—but let’s be clear: they sent someone unqualified who caused the damage in the first place. Worse, they actually defended him, saying he “worked hard” and implying I didn’t raise concerns. Not true—I got a call from their team during the job and said it wasn’t going well. They never followed up. If this is what “vetted professionals” looks like, I’d stay far away. **Developer response:** Hi, we’re truly sorry for the poor experience and for the damage caused during your kitchen hood installation. We understand how frustrating it is when a job takes much longer than expected, has complications, and still requires another provider to complete it. To clarify, when a job request is placed, service providers review the job details and accept the request based on their experience and ability to perform that type of work. The provider who accepted this job had previously completed similar types of work, which is why the request was assigned. However, we agree that this particular job had complications and did not meet the service quality we expect. We did not intend to dismiss your concerns. Once the issue was reviewed, InstaService refunded the amount related to the damage and also arranged another provider to help complete/fix the work. That said, we understand the overall experience was frustrating, and we are reviewing the provider’s performance internally. Provider quality, communication, and accountability are very important to us. Feedback like this helps us improve job matching, provider verification, and follow-up during complex installations. Best of all, unlike most folks you find on Yelp, you can usually get someone scheduled for the next Business day. And prices are definitely below market rate for excellent service. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Fraud!!!! *2026-07-01* I was charged for a 4-hour job, but the handyman left after only 3 hours because he said the job didn’t pay enough. I don’t understand why he accepted it when everything that needed to be done was clearly listed beforehand. I ended up hiring another company to finish the work. Customer service wasn’t helpful either and couldn’t explain why I was charged for a job that wasn’t completed. Very disappointing experience. ### 1/5 — Very horrible app and service *2026-06-10* Would never recommend this service. I booked a service and the so called professional Eric T. never showed up and when I contacted customer service they gave her every in the world as to why he did not show up. And when he finally did get in contact with me almost 2 hours later, he had the nerve to have a nasty attitude. Reconfirmed ans cancelled at the very last minute. Prices are not real as they end up charging more and extras. Customer service dont really care! ### 1/5 — Misleading, broken, and a complete waste of time *2026-04-12* At first glance, the app looks useful because it lists several services like bathroom cleaning, handyman work, general plumbing, TV mounting, and device installation, all at different prices. But that pricing is misleading. The reality is that you apparently cannot book a service unless the total is at least $120. That is a huge detail, and it is not presented clearly upfront. Showing lower-cost service options that customers cannot actually book is frustrating and feels deceptive. What makes it worse is the customer support, which is either terrible or nonexistent. I tried reaching out for help, but the app crashes every single time I attempt to send a message to support. The app fails at the exact moment you need help the most. So not only is the booking experience broken, but the support system is broken too. This app creates the impression that you have choices, flexible pricing, and support if something goes wrong. In reality, you hit hidden limits, dead ends, and crashes. If your service is under $120, do not expect a smooth booking experience. And if you need help, do not expect support to save the situation. An app that blocks bookings, hides important restrictions, and crashes when contacting support is not ready to be trusted **Developer response:** Hi, we’re truly sorry for the frustrating experience and for the trouble you faced while trying to contact support. Also, the minimum amount requirement currently applies only to cleaning services, not all service categories. Other services such as handyman work, TV mounting, plumbing help, furniture assembly, and device installation may have different pricing structures depending on the service, location, time, and scope of work. That said, we understand your feedback that this should feel even clearer upfront, and we will review the app flow to make sure the minimum service amount is displayed more prominently before customers proceed. Canceled the service and gets a call from insta service that the was still with another customer and for me to rebook. No response for the person coming to the work even after I messaged them. We sincerely apologize again and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve provider accountability, scheduling reliability, and customer support. ### 1/5 — InstaService Coordinators Incompetent *2025-12-22* I used the service for 5 requests all 4 contractors were great (3 handyman and 1 plumber). My issue was with the service is the coordinators who did not reach out when they saw two requests for handyman services to confirm that I wanted two people to be there at the same time to complete the job. One contractor was rescheduling up until the appointment time, and the coordinators never reached out to adjust the schedule or find a resolution. Not expecting the service provider, I did the job with the other handyman and tried to cancel the job. I was charged a cancelation fee because of the coordinators inability to communicate ahead of the appointment and manage expectations. Tip: manage expectations of your customers or allow request to be linked. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for using InstaService for multiple requests, and we’re glad to hear that the providers for your previous handyman and plumbing jobs did great work. We’re sorry for the confusion with this specific request. In this case, the provider was delayed while completing another job and messaged you directly that he would be about 30 minutes late. We understand the timing created frustration, especially since you had multiple handyman requests around the same time. Regarding the cancellation fee, we have refunded it to you. Since the provider had already traveled to your location after confirming that he would arrive late, InstaService separately took care of compensating the provider. For future bookings, if you need multiple providers at the same time or want multiple requests coordinated together, please mention that clearly in the customer instructions while placing the request. That helps our team and providers understand the requirement upfront and coordinate the schedule more effectively. I booked had my confirmation and someone was supposed to come out. They canceled the day of and then try to have me reschedule it once I rescheduled it paid again my service was canceled because “ I needed to book more service hours”.
