I canceled a shift because I never received a form that I needed to fill out in order to get paid for the shift. About an hour after I canceled they sent me the email and I wasn’t even done with it when it said application submitted and it will be reviewed. The bright white screens are extremely harsh on the eyes, especially when using the app at night or in low-light environments. Research has found that more than 50% of computer and digital-device users experience symptoms of digital eye strain, including eye discomfort, headaches, blurred vision, and dryness. For an app that workers may check throughout the day and night for shifts, messages, and opportunities, this should be treated as a usability and accessibility priority. Please add a system-responsive Dark Mode that follows the user’s iPhone or Android display settings, along with an in-app option to select Light, Dark, or System Default. Right now, opening Instawork in a dark environment can feel like looking directly into a bright flashlight. 🔦 A modern work app should provide users with a comfortable viewing experience regardless of when they use it. Customer service bot told me to change my search radius to 100 miles. Mind you I don’t have a car. There’s also a section for putting your vehicle information but the app only allows me to select yes for the questions. That’s crazy. I have never used ANYTHING regularly that is more terrible than this platform (I am an app designer/developer). Imagine customer service that takes 3-4 days to talk to a real person in order to resolve THEIR issues to get paid YOUR money that you worked for! You'll spend hours working for them as an unpaid guinea pig, telling them how to resolve their issues with their app. For every hour spent working a shift, I spend 5-15 minutes troubleshooting their problems –if I want to get paid. I also regularly have to enforce their company policies to get paid for businesses who cancel a shift on you. Per company policy, they're required to pay you for 4 hours when, but they'll only do it if YOU call them out on it and YOU can prove the business cancelled the shift. I have been banned, suspended, or revoked 3x for issues related to deadbeat businesses on their platform screwing their workers. I am also currently dealing with their bots and horrible customer service to get paid for 3 shifts that were cancelled or simply decided not to pay. Lest you think I am a poor worker, I have worked over 60 shifts and never cancelled a shift, never been more than 5 minutes late, or no-showed. I am a 'Top Gold Pro'. - –only not Platinum because I keep getting screwed by Instawork trying to ban me. If I'm being treated like this, what is everyone else on the platform whom I work with on a weekly basis dealing with??? I am a high performer. Most of the businesses I work with favorite me after a single shift and personally request me to work with them again and tell me that I do not look or perform like the typical Instaworker (slacker, tattoos, piercings, trashy clothes, trashy language, attitude, texting and vaping while on the job etc.) There are many exceptions who are the hardest-working and most hustling people you will ever meet. They do it for their kids. It's so sad to see them treated so poorly by Instawork. Most do not have the luxury or time or emotional bandwidth to fight Instawork for days or weeks and deal with their poor customer 'service' to get paid. Instawork reached a settlement with the California Civil Rights Department regarding Fair Chance Act violations, where its background screening process unlawfully blocked workers from job opportunities without doing individualized human reviews” ### 1/5 — app does not work *2026-08-20, version 2.241.1* i’m trying to login but you need a verification code. i’ve tried countless times even after troubleshooting my service , i have yet to receive a code. i tried reaching out to customer service but they keep giving me the same response ,” refer to the ‘?’ in the the corner of your screen”. i am not offered the question mark because i have yet to login… this app is a waste of storage. ### 1/5 — Glitchy App and Horrible Support Team *2026-08-20, version 2.241.1* I have been using Instawork for a while and I have not had any problems until recently. The support team on Instawork is horrible. They take 30 hours(and I mean 30 hours) to respond, they respond at odd hours of the day, they don’t even try to help just repeat themselves or tell lies and not actually help. The app is glitchy even after you uninstall and install it back in it still glitches. I’ve tried to transfer shifts to people and the app will tell them they are restricted but the chat bot or support team will say they are approved and not restricted on their side but on our side it says different. The instapay is only instant when the app wants to release your money and or releases it the day the money is supposed to go into your account. What is the purpose of instapay if you not getting paid instantly.
