Navigating the photo albums is frustrating as it’s not easy to find what you’re looking for easily because can’t sort by date, name, type etc. Very enjoyable process really. Manipulating photos before printing could be easier, especially the Cancel/Continue warning box that annoyingly pops up whilst adjusting angle orientation. Filters are okay but more presets and ways to enhance images would be appreciated. We will consider further development within our team. ### 2/5 — Harder than it should be to use *2026-01-11* When trying to print a photo, after selecting a photo, any time you touch it (with two fingers or one) to adjust the crop, it tries to open the photo library again and delete any changes you have made. We will consider further development within our team. ### 4/5 — Why does the Sqaure not have the same functions? *2025-03-28* First of I love the general concept of Instant photography and the app itself, but I can not understand why simple functions like in the Instax Wide App for the newer wide model are missing like QR code for homepage link other similar functions which aren‘t limited by the hardware as the QR codes already are used in the less useful AR-features of the Instax square app. Hopefully the functions will be added in future updates, until then I can only give unfortunately 3 stars as it seems to be another cooperate plan to poke you towards the newer models by limiting the software functions of „older“ models. Edit: As I now found all the missing features in the business app which combines all 3 branches of printers/cameras I don‘t really understand why there is a separate app with different functions for every model. It keeps asking me to choose a photo after I drag or tap on the photo that I selected. Dragging or zooming the photo also over drags or zoom than where I stopped the pinch or tap. AR Funktion ganz nett, fühle ich aber nicht. Ich finde das die App viel mehr Bearbeitungsmöglichkeiten oder Filter bieten sollte. Ich fotografiere unwahrscheinlich gerne mit Hipstamatic,weil es richtig Spaß macht, und für solche Bilder ist der Drucker meines Erachtens genau richtig. We will consider further development within our team. ### 3/5 — Beyond slow and arduous to select photos *2024-10-20* Ih Have been very eager to use this printer to print family photos for my kids albums. Unfortunately it’s taken me 1.5hrs to print 2 instax square photos because of the app. I have the setting allowing all photos (so I don’t have to select one by one), though the app takes forever (or even never) to load albums so you can then wait … again… to select your photo. I just want a quick select and print process. I love that there is a feature that remembers all your recent prints, though I printed one photo from my Photos App and sent the photo to open the Square Instax app - and this route is faster for printing though it does not keep the memory of printing it. For today day in age - I definitely expect this app, for such a huge company, to be better developed and streamlined. ### 3/5 — Not able to add more photos *2024-08-19* If you only allow limited access to your photo library I haven’t found any way to add more photos after the fact **Developer response:** From "SQUARE Link development team" Please follow below steps. (5) Tap "Edit Selected Photos"" and select the photos you need. ### 3/5 — Works good enough *2024-04-15* Generally I don’t use any of the filters and masks in the app. They aren’t up to the normal Fuji quality but I don’t mind too much. I can select and print photos and it does that. However there’s an annoying issue when placing the photos in the square. Very often the input doesn’t only change the position of the photo but forwards me to the menu to select a new photo when I just want to reposition the one I already selected. Just to share a small tip, you can adjust the position of the image well by holding down the image and then moving it. ### 4/5 — Some minor UI bugs but works well *2024-01-23* The app does just about everything you’d want it to. It connects to the instax square printer, prints photos, tells you the charge level of the battery, and how much film remains. The quick print UI is pretty atrocious though. It’s unnecessarily difficult to line up an image in the square. 80% of the time, when I try to adjust the image I’ve already selected, it takes me to the image selection screen. Why zoom and crop a large amount of the photo out. Just why. I shot the photo 1:1 so there is no reason to crop anything. Ich kann nicht auf Fotos zugreifen und diese Drucken wenn sie über die iCloud synchronisiert wurden auch wenn ich komplett Zugriff auf die Foto Mediathek erlaube. Mit den anderen Apps getestet. Fotos sichtbar, hilft aber nicht wenn ich Square drucken will. ——- My Internet Connection was not the Problem. Like I said, I have more than one instax product. The apps for the other products didn’t have that problem and they did get an Update. This App didn’t. All up front before I can use the main function of the app. Every time I open the app it asks for full photos access (which it doesn't need). If I pick a live photo it uses the video from it and there's no way to select the still image for it. The image adjusting controls are clunky and imprecise. The prints do not match the colours of the source image with the default settings. No matter what levels I choose for brightness, contrast and saturation the prints are always noticeably yellow. The device the app connects to is clearly not calibrated well. The prints are always noticeably blurry as well so the dpi of the printer must not be adequate to make a good image. Considering the price of the printer device it's shocking how clunky the app is. It's needlessly complex to navigate and the UI is crowded with a bunch of connected features that have nothing to do with printing photos from your phone's album. ### 1/5 — “Could not establish a connection with the device. *2023-10-10* Try search and connect again (1010).” This app worked with the square printer once like magic. But then no combination of forgetting bluetooth device, restarting, off/on, plugged in, unplugged, searching, closing and reopening, button pressing will get anything other than the message above.
