### 4/5 — Loved the app but…

*2026-01-13, version 4.13*

Their customer service is non-existent. I was so pleased with this app, used it for a year and was going to cancel it to save money when I realized it had automatically renewed, charged me for it but never notified me about it in advance.

I emailed them about it asking for a refund and they never got back to me. Just pay then cancel immediately unless you want to be charged yearly.

Usually businesses with integrity will give you a refund when you are no longer using their service.

But I still give 4 stars because I used this service for nearly a year and just loved it.

### 3/5 — Great meal planner, but it needs changes

*2025-12-27, version 4.13*

Pros:

I like that you can upload new recipes.

Has a wide variety of recipes, ingredient wise, and dietary restriction wise

I love that it populates a grocery list

I love that it tells you the macros and calories of the meal

Cons:

the recipes you add yourself are never chosen when a new meal plan is populated

you can only add recipes for breakfast lunch and dinners. I wish I could also add recipes for snacks and sides.

Compared to Fitbit I’m not sure if the macro and calories for the meal is as accurate but then again it depends on which exact brand used to cook the meal

### 3/5 — Functional app but filled with AI Slop recipes.

*2025-12-07, version 4.13*

App is well thought through for meal planning, and grocery shopping. But the app has one major flaw: all the recipes are ai slop. The portions are all wrong, many are too large. The photos don’t match the recipes. When cooking the recipes, it becomes apparent that they were not tested by a human. Fight back against the ai enslopification of our lives: from ai slop content, to now ai slop dinner, demand a human touch to your food!

### 3/5 — Update request

*2025-11-29, version 4.13*

This app is amazing. Would love if this app had a FODMAP feature to tailor meat toward healthier ingredients. Also I don’t like that only the owner of the household can track Marcos. It’d be more helpful if the entire household could track their Marcos individually. And the adult managers could update the children’s trackers.

### 3/5 — Boring

*2025-09-06, version 4.13*

At the very beginning, I said my favorite foods were Indian and middle eastern, two types high in spices. Not one of the recipes had bigger spices than cilantro or Italian seasoning.

I also said, I was gluten intolerant. Almost every recipe forced me to find gluten free versions of usually gluten food (sandwiches and noodles). There are tons of recipes out there that don’t require gluten alternatives.

If you like spice or are allergic/intolerant of something, I wouldn’t recommend.

It did teach me new methods to cook veggies. I’ll give it that.

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2025-08-19, version 4.12*

I really want to love this app - I like everything I’m seeing from it and might even be willing yo subscribe - but it keeps spontaneously quitting when I’m trying to enter recipes manually. Not sure what the issue is, but that alone is enough to send me looking elsewhere 😔

### 4/5 — Love it but a few fixes

*2025-08-15, version 4.12*

I absolutely loved the app! I love how simple and easy the interface is, it did a great job at helping me lose weight! I highly recommend if you’re just starting out meal planning and don’t know where to start like I was!
The few things I wish it had was if I changed an ingredient to help avoid waste, the grams to eat would disappear. So keeping the grams accurate based on ingredients amount add/subtracted would be nice so I didn’t have to add/subtract it manually to figure out the new grams to eat.
It would also be nice having a pantry added so the app can better track what I have and be able to add extra ingredients I may have so it can chose more meals based on what I have on hand.
On that note I Would love to be able to eventually input specific branded items so it track the macros and calories more efficiently, plus tracking more macros would be nice.
Lastly, it’s only on APPLE so having a partner who has an android it was tough being unable to have him go grocery shopping for us since he wasn’t able to have to app to share the grocery list. (I ended up having to switch apps solely because of this reason)
Just a few things I would personally love to see added onto the app.

### 4/5 — Great meal planner, but it needs changes

*2025-06-10, version 4.11*

### 3/5 — Was a decent app, but now I can’t get into it

*2025-05-29, version 4.11*

The app is decent! I’m not a huge fan of the side pairings and how we can’t add our own sides. The recipes are also very limited and don’t always come out well. Today however, I can’t log in to see my meal plan or recipes and I am stuck 😅 Contact support jsut sends me to the app.

Update: it’s back up, but I’m very tired of a lot of the mistakes it makes. I have to go over every little detail and fix so many things, if I miss something it can absolutely ruin the recipe. Also I believe a lot of the recipes are AI-generated. It called for 2 cups (yes, 2 whole cups) of lemon pepper seasoning for 4 servings of chicken, for example.

### 2/5 — Tech problems

*2025-05-22, version 4.11*

Anyone else get kicked out of their app and have absolutely no way back in? I’ve tried everything I could to get in. All links I’ve sent to my husband won’t load. I can’t even recreate an account.

Besides this I do love the app.

### 3/5 — Why is it down

*2025-05-22, version 4.11*

I was really enjoying using this app but it has completely stopped working today. I paid for a year, so I am hoping the server is just down. I like how I can add needed ingredients to my shopping list directly to the grocery and that I have lots of options for meals.

### 2/5 — Updates made app unusable

*2025-04-08, version 4.11*

I used to be able to copy and paste a code to MyFitnessPal to track my meals. That seems to no longer be an option all of a sudden? How else am I supposed to be able to track the meals I make??

### 5/5 — Somehow Perfect?!?

*2025-02-25, version 4.11*

Meal planning has never worked for me before. I am a picky eater with bad ADHD. I also work a lot and have a tight budget. I’ve tried other apps similar to this one, but there was always something that didn’t work with those: like too many recipes that wouldn’t suit my palette, my energy level, or my budget, or a complicated user interface. But THIS app solves every problem I have ever had with meal planning. It allows me to pick my budget, meal planning schedule, household members, whether I want leftovers or not, and ALL the ingredients each person doesn’t like in their food. (I can finally exclude potatoes and spicy stuff!🥲) Then it curates good recipe choices based upon those selections that I can switch out at any time, and it converts the entire meal planning period into a simple grocery list I can check off on the grocery day that I choose. I can even add my own recipes or edit the ones suggested to me for next time. It’s so adaptable it actually makes it EASY for ME to cook. I never thought it’d be possible especially with my ADHD. I love it. I wish it was available on android too though so I could use it on my phone and recommend it to more people. I can only use it on my iPad for now.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — High Price Mistake

*2026-01-14, version 4.13*

I thought I was signing up for a free trial so I could see the app functionality to determine if it met my needs - apparently there is no trial and I was charged a whole year. I immediately (next day) submitted for a refund and was denied. The app isn’t what I was hoping for so I deleted it - cost me $50 to test the app for 1 day - super infuriating.

### 1/5 — Was great

*2026-01-12, version 4.13*

This app has been a wonderful time saving and healthy way of getting meals ready for the week. But for the past month I haven’t been able to export the grocery list to outside retailers that it worked with prior to that. This has been incredibly frustrating and despite reaching out to the app support team nothing has been done to resolve the issue.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-11-30, version 4.13*

They offer a free trial and then continue to charge you after you canceled the free trial. They have been holding my Apple account basically hostage until I pay them. I cannot buy or upgrade any other apps, I have sent numerous emails with no reply. I’m not paying $50 for an app that I do not use and I need this so that I can update my other apps that I need to use.

### 1/5 — Same engine as my fitness pal

*2025-08-03, version 4.11*

I was testing different meal plan apps. I was very surprised to find the exact same on boarding questions, options, photos etc. They are listed as two different developers. Very deceitful.

### 1/5 — Too much pasta 🍝

*2025-03-11, version 4.11*

Wow, I am so disappointed with this app. I took my time to create an account and select my 🍓 preferences.

The meal plan suggested that I eat pasta, pizza bread, and tortellini. What 🤦🏽‍♀️? I would gain weight if I followed this plan.

### 1/5 — I do not recommend this app at all

*2025-03-09, version 4.11*

TLDR: This app is unfinished and untested by real people. The recipes are obviously AI generated and the macros are just decoration. Also, why are the sides separate from the meal options? A meal consists of a protein veggie and carb on the same plate.

I think the app is a great idea that was not executed well. The recipes are the main disappointment. The sides should be a part of the meals. There should not be an option to have your meal as garlic pasta but you choose your side as whole wheat noodles. Meals mean your protein meat and veggie all together on one plate to most households. Some recipes are lackluster and are just a side such as buffalo cauliflower for lunch or granola for breakfast. Where is the suggestion on what to pair these with ? Also, it is very obvious the recipes are created by AI. Sometimes the title does not match the recipe which does not match the picture. The recipes are also a bit off suggesting pairing that would not even taste good together or compliment each other. I think if the company partners with someone who actually makes recipes and have tested them this would be a lot better. The planning and grocery list building are great features but the macros and calories I’m not sure even align with the recipes. They seem to be just for decoration. I would like a full $55 refund as I will not be using this app for a full year or for a full day. This app is unfinished and should have probably released to a small cohort for testing or personally tested by the creator.

### 1/5 — Can’t organize recipes

*2025-02-27, version 4.11*

We are unable to organize uploaded recipes in this app, which makes meal planning very frustrating. I chose this app to be more organized and efficient, but not being able to categorize my recipes and having them all jumbled on one long page is disappointing. I reached out for support to request a categorization feature, but they informed me that it’s not currently possible and may be available in the future. However, it’s been nearly a year since then.. I’m likely not going to renew my subscription.

### 1/5 — Lacks Variety, not the healthiest options

*2024-11-10, version 4.10*

At first I really liked it but on the third week so far and it’s still suggesting a pasta dish every night for dinner, plus bread for breakfast and bread with lunch. It’s suggested balance plan is low protein and high carb. I end up having to go in and choose a new dinner every week because the options are literally pasta every night.

### 1/5 — Predatory

*2024-10-14, version 4.9*

This does not let you easily cancel your freaking subscription!! They do not send you an invoice or respond to emails no phone numbers!

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2024-09-22, version 4.9*

You go through a ton of information entry, just to be REQUIRED to do a $9.99 a month subscription to use the app. I wish I would’ve known this at the beginning before spending time entering all this data. I have dozens of apps on my phone, they can’t all demand money. Intent is a rip off.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-01-19, version 4.13*

I love this app. Makes part of my week so much easier. I love that I can edit the plan so easily, that I can add recipes from Pinterest or put in my own. I only wish there were more high protein high fiber recipes on the app.

### 5/5 — Frustrated

*2025-12-17, version 4.13*

Please help. the app won’t send my groceries to anywhere but Amazon & WholeFoods.

### 5/5 — App is very beneficial

*2025-12-04, version 4.13*

Very helpful. Very organized.. very straight forward.. this app will make your life easier if you are a healthy eater or just like a different taste… I’m a healthy eater and i do not like eating the same foods over and over again.. this app will change that for you. Don’t be scared to try out something new.

### 5/5 — Arianna

*2025-10-12, version 4.13*

This app is so useful because it can tell if I meal planner diets and grocery lists I love this so much

### 5/5 — Impressively Thorough

*2025-05-08, version 4.11*

For those like me—beginners who have an idea of what they need (or don’t!) but don’t know where to start, this is excellent.

You can add so many minute customizations. I especially like the meal prep function. My only recommendation would be to maybe have instructions tailored to certain appliances, such as those with instant pots. But even then, this is pretty much perfect!

### 5/5 — lntent

Meal Planner

### 5/5 — The best meal planning app there is. Period.

*2025-04-03, version 4.11*

If you are looking for a meal planning app that is going to simplify your life, or to lose weight, or both, look no further than Intent. I have used this for a couple years, and I don’t think I’ve tried one bad recipe. It is all delicious. You can customize EVERYTHING. You can set daily macro goals, calorie goals, diet styles, budget, change side dishes…they truly thought of everything with this app. I have lost a considerable amount of weight by using this app, and it has been the single most helpful tool for me in doing so. Download it, play around with it. Just give it a shot. You’re going to love it. It does take a little getting practice to figure out how to work all the options. Stick with it. It’s so worth it. What a fabulous app.

### 5/5 — Nutrition journey game changer

*2025-03-29, version 4.11*

My adhd has me making decisions at the store and by the time I get home it’s survival of the fittest for the food in my kitchen. I’ve gone through so many different try’s of meal prepping, nutrition apps, professional nutritionist and nothing worked. Till I got intent. I’ve been using it for about 2-3 years and I keep coming back. It’s like curating a custom menu for my kitchen ever week and the perfect assistant to get it done. Having intent as a part of my nutrition journey has been a game changer.

### 5/5 — The Only App I’ve Paid For

*2025-03-03, version 4.11*

The best app for meal prepping, recipe saving, meal planning, and logging. I never like to pay for apps but premium is so worth it for me!

### 5/5 — I’m so happy

*2025-02-26, version 4.11*

You all when I tell you cooking scares me, I mean it. For years I have stayed at a low level cooking skills. I thought I was doomed to stay there forever. Yes, I could boil an egg, make pasta, and create a salad. But my basic skills had everything tasting bland & boring. On Intent they elevate everything. And the best part? They make SO simple. Even a novice like me can’t screw it up. Now my simple lunch & dinner ideas have texture, flavor, and pretty colors to go with it. I did the trial run & then waited a whole year to finally get a subscription. I don’t know why I waited so long! I’ve not found anything that works with my schedule as good as this one. And if it doesn’t get any better, I finally went ahead and got an instacart account. Omg, instant recipes & I don’t have to step into a store? Yes, please!!! It took ALL the stress out of meal planning. Now I can step up my game and have delicious, healthy meals at home without having to worry about getting all the information & ingredients together. I eat out less, and my body feels a lot better too!
