I used the app to buy a return from Catania central to Siracusa bus terminal, and the experience was smooth. 
The visa transaction went through without errors and the tickets were scanned by the bus driver on entry. I didn’t need to reserve a seat. 
In May 2022 bus drivers will refuse to allow entry to anyone not wearing a PPR2 mask.
