## What is Interval Walk?

Interval Walk brings the Japanese interval walking method (IWT) to iPhone and Apple Watch: 3 minutes fast, 3 minutes slow, repeated 5 times. Based on research from Shinshu University in Japan, this simple protocol has been shown to improve aerobic fitness, leg strength and blood pressure more effectively than walking at a single steady pace.

HANDS-FREE INTERVALS
Your iPhone vibrates and chimes at every phase change. Turn on spoken cues and it names the phase as well, then tells you when the walk is done. Press start and walk.

YOUR WEEK, SUMMED UP
The week closes on Sunday evening and its summary is ready. One page shows how many days you walked, the week's standout walk, how long your heart rate stayed in each zone, the time of day you walk, and the one thing that changed since last week.

YOUR PROGRESS, TRACKED
Every walk is saved automatically. Browse your full history grouped by day, and see a 7-day activity chart, a 6-month trend, your pace split, your daily streak and your weekly goal.

READ YOUR HEART RATE
Walk with a chest strap or your watch and you see the peak of every fast phase, the average of the fast and slow phases, and the time spent in each zone.

BADGES
Road, Rhythm, Horizon and Season measure four different things. They level up as you walk, and they slip back if you stop.

ALSO ON APPLE WATCH
The Apple Watch app runs on its own, so you can leave your phone at home. Live heart rate, a heart-rate zone chart and a post-walk summary.

SAVES TO APPLE HEALTH
Your walks are stored as workouts in Apple Health.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no tracking, no ads. Everything stays on your device.

FIVE WALKS FREE
Your first five walks are free — no card, no account. Walk them, see how it feels, then decide.

If you want to keep going there is a further week free, monthly or yearly. If you would rather not subscribe, the one-time lifetime option is still there.

Available in English, Turkish, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.11 — 2026-09-11

The monthly summary is here.

At the start of each month you see where you are on the five-month road the research measured: how many days a week you walked, how many the people in the study walked, and how many of the five months are behind you.

A new badge opens when the fifth month closes: The Fifth Moon.

Reminders are new: if you haven't walked in three days, we let you know, at most twice a week. And when the week closes, we tell you a new one is starting.

### 1.10 — 2026-09-09

The app is about 5 MB smaller, with the same sounds.
Walks that start slow now show the right fast and slow minutes.
The phase cue now names the phase.

You now choose whether a walk starts fast or slow — Settings, Start with.
Your plan has its own screen: switch plans, move to lifetime or cancel, without leaving the app.
If you have not walked for a few days, the app sends a gentle invitation.
Before your first walk, History and Stats show a sample record so you can see what they will look like.
The one-time offer after a walk now arrives on your third walk and says plainly that it will not come again.

### 1.9 — 2026-09-08

### 1.8 — 2026-09-07

Finish your first walk and the First Step badge opens — the collection's new first badge.

After your first and fifth walks there's a 72-hour first-walk price: the yearly and lifetime plans cost a little less. The yearly renews at that price.

Each of your first five walks now ends with a line that knows where you are.

Six new rare badges: Starry Night, Northern Lights, Moon Road, Above the Clouds, Four Seasons and Day and Night. Genuinely hard to reach; they wait at the end of the collection.

Two more in Settings: you can start each walk with the slow phase, and if you haven't walked for five days the app sends one gentle invitation. Your subscription plan can now be changed inside the app.

### 1.7 — 2026-09-03

When an important update ships, the app now tells you from the inside.

We ask once how it's going — if something's missing, you can write to us directly.
