The chlorinator hardware is decent, but this app is disappointing in every way. Originally it was always pretty bad but did at least work. More recently, the last 6 months, it has become so unreliable that attempting to use the app to check the readings, adjust pump speed or change a schedule can take several weeks of trying and trying again to find a time when the app doesn’t spin-a-dial-to-nowhere or just not work. If you want a chlorinator with a smart app, go elsewhere, buy a different chlorinator. Insnrg have failed on the tech front. ### 1/5 — Update required *2022-09-25* This app doesn’t work with latest iOS every time I click refresh it crashes Update required ### 1/5 — Slow and clunky *2022-06-07, version 1.13* UPDATE: the experience with this company and app have just been awful. Equipment failing multiple times (only a year old!), a grumpy technician blaming us for things going wrong, and an app that just doesn’t work. I can’t even turn the pool lights on now from the app. Overall just a terrible experience. I find this incredibly slow and clunky. Thought it was just me and then saw other reviews. It wouldn’t take much to make this much more user friendly but clearly they have no intent to update given people have complained about the same issues for a while now. It was updated recently but it looks like nothing has improved. I ‘favourited’ lights in the hope it would be easier to switch them on this way. Instead one set of lights and the spa jets switch on. The the amount of money spent on this system this is not acceptable. ### 1/5 — Horrible- not user friendly *2022-02-11, version 1.13* This is the worst app & the worst system overall. Hardly ever loads. When it does, it never does what you’ve told it to do. The readings are completely different to what shows on the main pump & im constantly having to do water tests to ensure my kids are swimming in safe water. It’s a disgrace. Sold something that was meant to be ‘top of the line’ but wish I’d bought just a standard system. It was highly recommended and now we feel we got sold a lemon. Nothing works as it should. Does not connect well, and does not always respond when controlled. Unreliable app. Honestly I would consider replacing the entire system because of such a disastrous application. Doesn’t load properly , is slow and when choosing the light colour it chooses a totally different colour! I do not recommend this app nor their equipment or products! It is completely useless and doesnt even load properly, if it does load it constantly crashes. I end up needing to go to my pool equipment and manually turning the spa on. Common for app to crash each time I attempt to use it. Really unhappy given the expense of this total system. Owned for over a year. ### 1/5 — Develop should be embarrassed *2021-11-02, version 1.8* I have used hundreds if not thousands of apps over the years and this is by far the worst app that I’ve ever encountered if you get a pool put in don’t count on this app just get your pool installer to show you how to manually set your pumps. do not bother with this app. ### 1/5 — Great hardware terrible app *2021-10-29, version 1.8* Please please please fix the app. We had all your equipment installed on our new pool and spared no expense. Service and support is excellent except for this STUPID app. Basically does not work. Spent over $120k on our beautiful pool and equipment and wish I had have used different pumps heater etc because of this app. Got so excited when there was a new update done hoping it was fixed but no just a new layout but same old faults. Please contact your customers and rectify this. I am happy to help. I feel this is really letting your company down. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2021-10-26, version 1.7* Have to uninstall and reinstall it every time I want an updated reading from the pool. It was working fine when first installed, now temp and pool settings are not feeding through unless I delete the app, reinstall it, then it works for a few hours till it freezes again. This seems to have broken following an ‘update’ to fix bugs, which would be hilarious if it wasn’t so annoying. ### 1/5 — Terrible Interface *2021-10-20, version 1.7* This application needs a facelift and it could be so appealing if it was done correctly without shortcuts. For example, better icons and graphics with an interface that brings everything together. It looks like it has been designed by a developer with no user experience or consideration. We could have animations to show water values and a cool looking temperature gauge, but instead we have an archaic circle graphic with a number in the middle! If I were a developer receiving 2 stars from all reviewers I’d be sinking some money and time into making this application look polished and intuitive. ### 1/5 — Disappointing at best *2021-09-19, version 1.6* This I about the worst app I have ever used. It often takes forever to load the screen (if it loads at all) and does not always store your selection so you have to go back in and try again. Our colour change lights are entertaining - choose green and they will Come on red. Select red and they will be blue. It’s different every time and frustrating. The steps to reconnect when we changed modem were archaic and counter intuitive. A constant source of disappointment. Sadly the functionality of doing it manually is nearly as poorly designed with the menu structure being overly complex. Unable to log in. Error that appears says the information is not in correct format. Disappointed that it is so clunky. ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t Bother *2024-08-10, version 1.13* The app is very slow, very often doesn’t open and is limited in the data you want from it even though that data is in the “box” eg I would rather have chlorine and salt levels instead of ORP. At the moment it is saying JSON will not serialise the data as not in the right format. Seeing as the data is theirs and the filter system is theirs and the app is theirs I’m going to say it is their fault. The idea for this is good but it’s never worked as it should. When readings did not match the pool shops readings it was their (the pool shop’s) fault. The sensors are expensive to replace and seeing as I don’t have confidence they even work properly I reluctant to replace more. There there are obviously bugs as it’s rated 1.4 at this time but as none have been addressed in 2 years it should also not fill you with confidence. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2023-10-12, version 1.13* Worst app and system with lights even when it works ### 1/5 — App need fixing *2023-09-30, version 1.13* Slow to access then o my sometimes loads. Roy from Insnrg arrived and was so friendly and patient with us. He explained it all and gave us his number to call anytime. I’ve had him talk me through a problem over the phone with ease. I see their is a website that you can log into instead of using the app. Haven’t tried this but the app needs updating. Technician was good. Pump broke and he came out within 2 days and fixed it straight away. ### 3/5 — Slowly getting there *2022-02-24, version 1.13* Few months back the app was still in its infancy. Major bugs and very slow. Over the past few months the developers have been slowly fixing the bugs and releasing new updates. Not there yet by a long shot but slowly getting there. I have learnt to live with the shortcomings of the app so any new improvements is a plus. ### 2/5 — Latest update still problems on the Spa side of the app *2021-12-15, version 1.12* I’m pleased to say that the spa side of the app whilst still very slow has speeded up in performance to some degree. It’s usable now, just wish it was as fast as the pool side of the app. My remaining issue with the spa side of the app is that for at least the last 3 weeks (could be longer - we only recently turned our pool and spa heating back on for the New Zealand summertime) the current temperature display on the spa side of the app is actually showing the exact same temperature as the current and correct pool temperature on the pool side of the app. The temperature on the screen of our Expansion box which the spa is connected to shows the real current spa temperature and the app should be showing that same temperature on its screen and it doesn’t . It just shows the current pool temperature on both sides of the app. Hopefully INSNRGY can promptly rectify this very weird and annoying bug? ### 2/5 — Bad design - painful *2019-11-28, version 1.3* App is poorly designed and unreliable. Too many layers of settings to do simple things. Various system components not responding as they should to the settings.
