## What is Intro?

Intro is an app for things you want to remember.
Intro brings together notes and contacts, in context. In Intro, the Global Timeline presents your latest info, right to hand for quick access.

Keep track of people you meet.
Intro is designed to help you keep track of people you meet, information you want to recall, and the links between them. Take quick notes, and link them to the relevant people, groups and events that make up their context. Add detail over time.

Private by design.
Intro is designed to be your 100% private knowledge store, when you need it. Intro provides sync using your private iCloud account, if you chose to enable it, but never sends any information anywhere else. We don’t copy your information to our servers… we don’t even have any servers. You are the only one with access to your data. For good.

Advanced search options.
Search people by physical characteristics you’ve tagged them with, or just with fragments of information you recall from their details or your notes. Track back through links and connections you’ve made to find that piece of information you need, whether it’s a name, an idea, a piece of information, or a promise.

Manage contact info.
Manage it within Intro privately, or optionally sync some or all of the people you add with the Contacts app. Or don’t sync anyone at all. It’s up to you.

Learn your contacts’ names.
Intro includes an errorless learning tool that trains your brain. It makes names stick. When you use this proven method, you’ll be amazed to find the names that you’ve learned will just come to mind when you need them.

Real support.
Intro offers real support, though a chat mechanism inside the app to get personal help from Intro’s developer, Dr Duncan Babbage. If you have a question, just ask.

### 5/5 — Customer support is great

*2019-02-01*

I love the app and was having trouble syncing to my contacts. Inside the app is a Texting to Support feature. I wrote/texted to describe my problem and they responded almost immediately. And I got a solution. Support is one reason to buy this app!

### 5/5 — Great business tool

*2018-05-11*

Easy app to use to help with remembering names to faces and also other key information or relationships about people I meet

### 3/5 — Great idea, bad icon

*2018-03-24*

I think the app is a great idea, but I don’t like the icon as I don’t see how it’s relevant to the all and that is the starting point of using an app, so I’ve not started using it.

**Developer response:** Hi Ian, thanks for the feedback. At the time you posted this comment, the app icon was based on one of the Avatars that you can make for people in Intro, to remind you how people look, when you don't have a photo of them, and to let you use a physical characteristics search to find someone you've added previously. Since then, I've updated the app icon to the new icon based on the Intro logo. Hope you like it!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-06-22

• You can now export all your data, either as a readable Markdown bundle or as a full-fidelity .introarchive backup that can be re-imported into the app without losing any detail.
• A sync-status banner now indicates when iCloud is syncing, so it's clear when changes are still being uploaded or downloaded across devices.
• A person's photo now appears on their card as soon as that person syncs from iCloud, instead of waiting for the heavier photo records to finish arriving.
• The People list now loads dramatically faster on large libraries, including those with many photos.
• Person photos and avatars now load in the background rather than on the main thread, so lists and the timeline scroll smoothly while images appear.

### 2.1 — 2026-05-25

• Updates the app with a Liquid Glass interface.
• Resolves an issue that caused a crash on launch for some users upgrading from an older version of the app.

### 2.0.5 — 2024-12-18

• Provides a Done button above the keyboard when editing a Note, as an alternative to swiping away the note editor.
• Improves how sync is handled for Contacts entries that are organisations, or do not have full names e.g., only have a given name.
• Provides fixes that enable more efficient storage of some data.
• Adds a placeholder in Intro’s Settings for the future ‘Export all content” feature, coming in Intro 2.1.

### 2.0.4 — 2024-11-07

This version separates out settings relating to merging duplicate people into a new "Duplicates" section in the in-app settings, and provides a new option to manually trigger a merge of duplicate people, alongside the existing option to automatically merge duplicates during sync and import.

This update provides further performance improvements related to how long-running background operations are handled during sync and import activities. It also provides a fix for an issue that could prevent successful completion of the automatic upgrade introduced in Intro 2.0.2 that runs on launch for existing installs.

### 2.0.3 — 2024-10-27

Further refinements to the way content lists are updated makes for a substantially smoother performance both when new content is synced in via iCloud and also when Intro is synching with the Contacts app—for users who have enabled either or both of these features in Intro's settings.

Accessibility: Updated VoiceOver descriptions for all timeline entries, providing an improved description of content that is also significantly easier to navigate as each timeline entry is now a single accessibility element.
