## What is Intuition?

Wear an Apple Watch. Perform study activities on your devices. It’s that easy to participate in Intuition. And you can earn the Apple Watch plus up to $280 in gift cards or charitable donations.

Intuition is a virtual research study sponsored by Biogen, in collaboration with Apple. By joining us, you can help researchers investigate the role an Apple Watch and iPhone could play in:

•	Measuring changes in thinking and memory in adults
•	Identifying longer-term changes in brain health - some of which may occur normally as we age, while others could be an early indicator of certain forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease

By participating in this study, you can contribute to a greater understanding of brain health – knowledge that has the potential to benefit you, your family, and your community in the future.

Representation matters in this research study. Learn more about our commitment to diversity.

About data and privacy

You can review the data fields that will be collected by the study when you sign up in the app. We take your privacy seriously and have put in place measures to protect your data.

Your data collected as part of the study will only be stored, used, and disclosed as described in the informed consent form that you will review and sign before joining the study. For more details about how your data is stored and kept secure, and how it may be used by those who have access to it, please refer to the informed consent form, which can be accessed at any time from the Profile tab in the Intuition app, and to the Intuition Privacy Policy.

The Study App uses the TrueDepth API provided by Apple, which uses the camera for the purpose of tracking eye movements and angle of the face during completion of certain Study tasks, if you choose to allow the collection of this data in the Study App. This data will help the Study learn how head and eye movement can relate to thinking and memory. We may collect, use, and disclose this data as described in the ICF. We will retain the data only for as long as needed or permitted for the purpose(s) for which it was obtained, as described in this Privacy Policy and the ICF.

Neither the devices nor the research study provides diagnosis or treatment.

### 5/5 — Great experience

*2023-09-26*

This was a wonderful experience. I filled out all of the application questions, and I was accepted to the study, and I received my Apple Watch not too long after that. Beware that they will ask for all of your personal health daily actions.
The study tasks were not difficult but a bit redundant. Some of them could be performed by a child honestly. And I let them know my opinion, but they continue to do them. But they were extremely responsive whenever I had issues or questions.

And I did not meet the hundred thousand point Mark to keep my watch but they allow me to keep it anyway because I did my absolute best.

My number one reason for getting this watch was the fall function. If you fall, it will ask you if you are OK. If you are not, they will send help. That is a huge assistance to someone older. The alarm went off a couple of times when I was aggressively chopping vegetables. And you do have an opportunity to say that you did not fall, but I did really appreciate this feature.

And I will say this watch has kept me moving more. Their goal is to get older people to be more healthy and to move more.
It cracked me up when they called me Miss Piggy. And they would remind me of my daily achievements. Regarding standing, exercise, movement.

If you can be accepted in the study, I highly recommend it. It truly was a great experience and if it helps science. It’s a good thing.

### 5/5 — I will miss the Intuition study

*2023-09-20*

I have been registered in this study for a year and a half, and it’s become such an interesting part of my life during that time that I will miss taking part in the weekly, monthly and seasonal tasks. It was a good way to remind me to get up and move during the day each day, and I enjoyed the monthly memory and seasonal tasks. I earned an Apple Watch and made almost $200 during the study. But it wasn’t the money or watch, it was the interaction that I appreciated the most. I hope another study will take its place.

### 5/5 — Really enjoyed participating

*2023-09-17*

I really enjoyed participating in the study, almost two years. I earned my watch (get to keep) about six months ago. I’m actually a bit sad the study is concluding, I have liked having/meeting the goals. I would happily participate again. The monthly and seasonal goals were fun. I never had any problems or glitches with the app except a few times on those rare occasions when wifi or data coverage was spotty. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Ridiculously glitchy

*2023-06-01*

I tried to join and got through all the questions and then it needed to verify my email. I did that and it sent me back to the app where it then froze and I had to do the entire questionnaire again and reverify email. Again it froze. Then it kept saying error. Finally I just tried to log in saying I forgot pw (even though we never even got to the pw stage) and it let me create a new pw. I chose the recommended gobblygook one because it said it would remember it. Then it did not remember it, so I needed to create a new pw again and one that I could remember. Then I had a series of questions about any diseases etc and I did not have one negative — not one single one and then it said I was ineligible!!! What? So then I tried to resign in and it said the account was being used on another device, even though I was still using the same phone. Then I tried again and it said wrong pw even though it was the same pw. Then I tried again and it said app being used by another device. I gave up. What a joke.

### 4/5 — Interesting study, sometimes glitchy app

*2023-04-08*

I’ve been part of this study since last fall. The tasks are generally easy to complete, but the app has been very glitchy the past couple of weeks. The seasonal challenge didn’t load to my app until day two this time so I missed out on a full day of points. Since then, there have been several days when the app will just shut down in the middle of a task and there is no way to resume the task. The support team has given me credit for missed tasks, which is good, but it’s frustrating to have the app randomly shut down. I don’t plan to quit, but would like to see the issue fixed.

### 5/5 — You can help others _&_ get a watch!

*2023-03-16*

I joined this last May. It’s not difficult & you get to use the watch. The watch helps track your healthy habits, provides you w/encouragement, reminds you of appointments, and you can even answer your phone w/it. As you complete tasks, one set of points goes into hopper A and a duplicate set of points goes into hopper B. When you get to a 100K points in hopper A, the watch becomes yours. The points in hopper B? They van be cashed in for gift cards. I currently have 110K points in hopper B ($110) _and_ am the owner of my watch. (Yea!). I’m continuing w/the study as it’s potentially a valuable bunch of research.

### 5/5 — Enjoying This Study

*2023-01-31, version 1.5.0*

I am nearing my one year mark for participating in this study. I have earned the points that are needed to own the watch already and am nearing the halfway point to being able to cash in for the cash. All this while doing something to help them to understand how things can affect the brain, memory, and eye/hand coordination. I feel this study is very important to us and future generations. I hope I am able to participate in other legit studies like this one.

### 5/5 — Set notifications to permanent.

*2023-01-01, version 1.5.0*

Love the study and great to be in, help myself, and hopefully help others with data.

Set messages to permanent so you read when app notifies you to complete computer work. I was missing this connection so delayed Apple Watch witch isn’t shipped until complete 2 (in my case) brain exercises.

The exercises are def a solid 20 min. The talking lady is quite while doing exercises so well designed that way. If there was any more talking I would probably score worse as it’s distracting to me. Well done Biogen and thank you Apple for building this tech with an eye towards human improvement. Thanks for reading and hope helpful! -Brian

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2022-10-14, version 1.5.0*

I was told I qualified, then answered a few more basic questions and was then told I wasn’t eligible with no reason given. I’ve tried changing answers on the basic questions 3 different times with different accounts, and every time I’m ineligible with no reason given. They don’t really want to test cognitive decline at all apparently. Don’t waste your time with this crap. If you truly want to further research, there are many other sites where you can do so that are actually transparent about their requirements.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2022-10-11, version 1.5.0*

I am a participant in-an Intuition Study. I was a bit hesitant, however, the participants are given an option to opt out if “ we change our mind”.

So far I have had a positive experience what I hope to gain is added insight to improve my health naturally .. ie learning ways to relax or destress such as walking , learning to spend time performing and benefits of doing so….
