### 3/5 — Good app

*2026-06-01*

It would be better if it gave feedback besides a thumb up or down. Maybe some coaching.

### 4/5 — Could be even better

*2026-04-28*

Really nice app! Just missing a couple things that would make it perfect:

1) Let users start at (or even stay at) any level. It feels like waste of time getting through the lower levels each time. Would rather spend that time actually practicing.

2) Please consider adding a "same pitch/in tune" option (along with higher and lower)! I've found I've gotten good at distinguishing sharp versus flat in the app, but I have a lot of trouble distinguishing slightly flat versus in tune, which is a big barrier when tuning and adjusting intonation in the real world.

### 4/5 — 1

给个重播功能就好了

### 4/5 — Great concept/basic app

*2025-11-09*

This is fine as far as it goes but it would be helpful to have a record of past performance, it would be helpful not to waste time starting with the easy ones every time and it would be helpful to be able to rehear the ones I get wrong.

### 4/5 — Great but…

*2025-05-27, version 5.0.3*

This is an amazing app. I’m a teacher and use it with my classes regularly. But the old version with a static starting pitch should be an option!

### 4/5 — Great app, bad flute sound

*2025-03-03, version 5.0.3*

I really enjoy this app, and it’s great practice for hearing intonation. However, I purchased the flute sound, and it’s absolutely horrendous. It sounds like a dying goat. Disappointed that I spent money on that sound, but I guess I’ll continue just using the pure tone for now.

### 4/5 — does what it says, although

*2024-05-20, version 5.0.3*

great little ear training app for helping discern lower and higher pitches.

The only thing I could wish for is a better sample sound for string instruments, that sounds more like a real instrument.

### 4/5 — Fun Tuning Game

*2023-04-20*

This app is fun but is lacking a simple instrument in the instrument selection page. This app is missing saxophones yet has the English Horn and even Koto. Everything else is fine and fun.

### 3/5 — pretty average

*2023-04-06*

No instruction on what the « game » is. Nowhere does it tells you, you have 3 chances only. No option to play the sound again. No info on what tones are or what semitones are. I still don’t know !

### 5/5 — Makes ear training a fun game!

*2023-02-24, version 5.0.3*

Thank you! I use this app with my percussion students to help their ear for timpani tuning. It’s fun for them and I’m noticing improvement!

### 4/5 — Please add a way to replay the pitches

*2023-01-17*

I use this for tuning practice and highly recommend it. The old version was better in my opinion, but I still like this version. I like that the pitches are not played as fast with this new version, but I liked the scoring with the old version.

I would love it if there were a way to hear the pitches played again. Sometimes a second listen is needed to make sure your brain is thinking correctly. Neither the first or second version has offered this. I figured that would be among the list of improvements foe sure.

Also maybe something telling you where your problem areas are… which octaves… and those could be used to drill down even further.

### 5/5 — perfect!

*2023-01-14, version 5.0.3*

my choir teacher showed us this so i got it on my phone and it is amazing! super easy and simple to use and i think it will help be be a better singer.

### 4/5 — Must Have App

*2022-10-08*

I remember this app from back in the day. I redownloaded recently and I’m very happy to see the expanded range of notes to hear, and the variety of instruments. This app is a fun way to test and improve your ear, and I highly recommend for anyone who wants to fine tune their ears.

My only complain is that some of the timpani sounds could be improved. The higher notes sound fine, but the low notes have so much impact and thud that it makes it really hard to hear the actual tone and pitch of the drum. Those low notes sound more like a bass drum than they do timpani. I think it would be beneficial if the timpani notes were played with a much softer mallet, as well as a lighter touch. That would create a more characteristic sound that mimics how a timpanist would actually play the drum.

I hope I can see that improved as that’s the only thing holding back my rating from 4 stars to 5. Again though, very useful app and definitely worth being on any musicians phone.

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2022-08-01, version 5.0.3*

It is a blow mind app! Awesome! Highly recommended

### 5/5 — Wonderful! Developer Plz read

*2022-06-12, version 5.0.3*

Wonderful app! I hope this app will one day be on both IOS and Android devices!

Also, I saw that there was a InTune Pro version of this app? Is that your app or did someone steal it?? I just wanted to make sure!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Each instrument costs an additional dollar

*2026-04-25, version 5.0.3*

For a simple game, it’s not worth $23 extra to use all the instruments. $1 is honestly too much for the entire app as it is

### 1/5 — App Freeze

*2026-01-29, version 5.0.3*

the app will freeze mid round and make you restart app

### 1/5 — Timpani sounds just terrible..

*2023-10-13, version 5.0.3*

You guys seriously decided to use those sound files and selling them? You can do better than that

### 1/5 — Oh please.

*2023-01-20*

The reason the description to the app is so vague is because the app is incredibly simplistic, and really just junk. Here’s what it is since the designers don’t tell you. You hear a tone, then you hear another tone. You decide whether the second tone is higher or lower. That is the entire program. I actually thought that it would be interactive, as in you hear a tone, then sing the same tone, or in my case play that tone on the violin. No. Nothing like that. Really just a sound generator.

### 1/5 — Not for Iphone13

*2022-05-23, version 5.0.3*

If you have an Iphone13, don't bother. It's too buggy to be useful

### 1/5 — 不合格

*2022-03-24*

作为付费软件并且是一个练习软件，居然没有答题之后的反复播放的功能，也没有和更高更低、持平的音之间的对比的功能。
作为练习软件而不是游戏软件，这个设计不合格。

### 1/5 — This App is Huge

*2020-01-04*

Version 3.01 was 1.1 MB. Version 4 is 122 MB. It’s a waste of space. Make it small again. Whoever wants realistic instrument sounds should be able to download them or something.

### 1/5 — Пустая трата денег

*2017-12-06*

Игра на 5 минут. За деньги!!!

### 1/5 — Low frequency rumble 24/7

*2016-11-21, version 3.0.1*

This app has a low frequency rumble that always plays when it's open. What the heck?

### 2/5 — Instrumente sind billige Midi-Sounds

*2021-01-27*

Funktioniert ganz gut. Ich wollte mir dann die Trompete kaufen, damit ich richtig an meinem Instrument üben kann. Aber die Sounds sind ein Witz: synthetische billige Sounds, die nicht im Ansatz nach Trompete klingen.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-04-05*

Fantismo

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-03-11, version 5.0.3*

I love that now there’s a way for me to fine tuning my hearing. And I love how simple it is. Great job!

### 5/5 — Fun and great training

*2026-02-18, version 5.0.3*

This app is totally addictive and my scores are gradually getting higher, so I know my ear is learning. I got it to improve my intonation on guitar string bends. It’s early in the process, but I’m optimistic.

### 5/5 — Sehr gut

*2025-08-25*

Ich finde die App sehr hilfreich.
Bei unter 3% eines Halbtons fängt es an unsauber zu klingen und man kann es teilweise gar nicht mehr rausfinden.

### 5/5 — Best intonation app

*2025-03-29, version 5.0.3*

Great app. Could be better with enhanced features such as selectable pitch differences but overall, very useful.

### 5/5 — Fun Helps the ear get better

*2024-08-13*

Simple.
Easy to use.
Great learning tool.

### 5/5 — Tones.

*2024-07-11, version 5.0.3*

AWESOM DESIGN but you should be able to
To limit how high/low it goes and be able to listen to each tone again.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-03-14, version 5.0.3*

I wish there was a feature where you can choose different instruments for each pitch. Like have one on piano and one on oboe, make it more real world application

### 5/5 — Musician’s Friend

*2024-01-16, version 5.0.3*

Easy to use, well-Designed tool for musicians. It’s useful both for soloists and ensemble members. Helps to improve pitch differentiation/accuracy. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Great, simple app!

*2023-04-18, version 5.0.3*

I hope this app never gets taken down from the store. It’s a great idea! I wish there were more apps with ear training on the App Store.
