Weil ich mir deswegen keine komplett neues Kameras Set kaufen wollte hab ich nach einer bei IP Cams fündig geworden. Wenn man ein ausgefeiltes Setup mit Internetzugang und einigen Shares auf nur aus Handel, muss man bezahlen: dafür braucht man die pro plus Lizenz. Ob das aber was für einen ist, kann man eine Woche lang ausprobieren. Das Setup war so einfach (ich hatte ein bisschen Hilfe von GPT), dass es superschnell lief und funktionierte. Dadurch habe ich zusätzlich noch den Vorteil gewonnen, dass ich hersteller-unabhängig alle Kameras jetzt in EINER App sehen kann. Obendrein werde ich jetzt nicht in jeder App mit den Cloud-Angeboten der verschiedenen Anbieter bombardiert. Bis jetzt bin ich rundum zufrieden! ### 5/5 — Legitimately great *2026-07-30, version 2026.7.1* Truly great app. If you have some POE cameras, or generic IP cams that advertise an address over your network and you don’t want to buy a cheapo NVR from the store, this is the app to get. I also use SecuritySpy on Mac, which is also awesome, and I think this app could replace SecuritySpy for the times when you don’t have a spare Mac or don’t want to buy a Mac since IPCams only needs something like an Apple TV to act as a hub. I get it, developers like to get paid. But updates continually reduce the number of cameras that can be used, and I’m afraid to update again fearing that I won’t get any use at all. It’s a shame, because it’s a good app. ### 5/5 — Truly amazing for a mobile app *2026-07-18, version 2026.7* I work in construction and part of the work we do is running ethernet everywhere and installing POE cameras. Now, the usual solution is something like an off-the-shelf NVR from Lorex or other. However, it’s 2026, and NVRs and the software they ship with are no longer acceptable, so I started looking into apps I could run on either a Mac or Apple TV. The obvious solution on Mac is SecuritySpy, which is an awesome app. However, SS becomes expensive if you have to install a Mac at every job since it’s a hardware licensed app, not account based. IPCams, however, really does compete with SS in most ways. It’s Apple ID based so you can use it with any Apple hardware where you’re signed in and you only need an Apple TV, which is way less expensive than a Mac (works great on Mac, too). It’s also a simpler UI, which makes sense for iPhone/iPad, and that’s a definite upside. Additionally, it stores to iCloud so you don’t need to pay for a separate mechanical storage drive (that will probably fail anyway). This app really is a no-brainer for people who need a system to monitor their house or a simple business.
