Now, after the update, it doesn’t feel as convenient as before. I still prefer the old version, where there was a control bar at the top, allowing me to turn the video on and off freely. Also, it seems like the sound only works with headphones now. **Developer response:** Thanks for the review, Zaza. We have plans to add a “settings panel” in a future version that will add more control over the videos. Not sure what your specific sound/headphones issue is, but we would recommend you update your iOS and ensure you have the latest app updates. I’m studying specifically English sounds and it’s difficult, especially from a beginner perspective to distinguish English and non English sounds ### 4/5 — Bring IPA to the Mac *2022-07-03* Please port this app to the Mac silicon chip. I’ve had this app for three years and just got it on iPad and it views much better than iPhone. I find this the best app source unless you need something else like the NATO phonetics. I know we need to learn the pronunciation somehow, but this absolutely doesn't work for me! I had to power off my phone to get it off of my screen. It would not respond to any touch or command. Then once I re-powered it, I was able to delete it. ### 1/5 — ew *2019-06-08, version 2.6* убери этот уродливый рот ### 1/5 — sounds are not accurate *2016-11-26* Many of the sounds are not segmented down to individual phonemes. Vowel sounds are often attached to the audio models of phonemes that actually don't have them, such as for 'l' and 'r' sounds. This app wrongly adds an 'a' sound to each, which a very common inaccuracy of phonetics apps and resources. Fortunately, there are some apps that are accurate and available in the app store. The concept and design of this app are good, but I'm afraid I can't reommend it to other teachers and my students in its current state. **Developer response:** The audio and video in this app were all produced by the former President of the IPA, so we are pretty confident they are accurate. My only critique would be that I preferred when I could switch between short and long vowels. What would be nice, would be to click on a vowel and choose between short and long.
