But, as of version 2.0.3 restore purchases to get rid of ads doesn’t work, and sometimes changing panoramas results in a black screen for no apparent reason. ### 2/5 — 2.01 was looking good, but... *2017-10-10, version 2.0.1* Update - back from 5 to 2 stars as while it says I’ve purchased the “Remove Ads” option, after going back to iOS a couple of times I’m getting Ads, although it still sees the purchase... One of the biggest disappointments of iOS 11 for me was iPano was no longer supported (I use it to show my spherical panoramas to people). Luckily it’s now been updated (thanks) to support iOS 11 and, after a minor SpeedBump with v2.0, I’m a delighted customer once again as of 2.01! The underlying panorama viewer is still in a different league to any other on iOS, although Google Cardboard support would be nice to have. Oh and people should note it’s a panorama viewer, it doesn’t take them. ### 3/5 — Good app but high resolution images cause it to crash *2016-09-21, version 1.8.6* The fundamental idea and design of this app is good. However, when you try and load a high resolution 360 panoramic image file the app simply crashes. This is annoying as there is no trial version of the app so you have to pay for it to find out this bug can prevent you from viewing your images! Update: After further experimentation I've found that you can get images in the 60 megapixel range displayed correctly. By the time you are into the 200 megapixel + range it does crash. So this app is good for viewing medium quality 360 panoramas but not for enjoying those super detailed images. ### 4/5 — Very nice, some polishing required *2014-03-07, version 1.8.6* It's very nice: images loads and renders fast and sharp (tested with 8000x4000px), and I especially like easy and straightforward managing of photos (offline storage are great option). However some improvements would be most appreciated - folders inside pano documents for example, and please, please do something to your starting screen menu - it's design just not as good as it could be. ### 4/5 — Nice to use. *2014-01-04, version 1.8.6* Was thinking that I would have to write my own app but this allows me to easily load my spherical images. Nice that I can control the view by either touch or rotating. Easy to open own images from photo library or through iTunes. Would have liked to evaluate before purchase but in the end I didn't waste my money. ### 4/5 — Great app for panoramic photographers *2013-06-20, version 1.7.2* Simple but effective… if you're a 360° panoramic photographer then this is a neat app for showing off your work on your mobile device… just drop in your equirectangular images and you're ready to let your images come to life. Only been using it for a short while but developer support is rapid and helpful. Recommended! ### 2/5 — upside down qtvr *2013-05-01, version 1.7.2* App insists on loading *some* QTVR's upside down. Absolutely no contact info at their web page that I could find. ### 4/5 — Good for the money *2012-04-28, version 1.6.1* First off, this is a great app for showing off your 360 panos to clients and things. The only thing bad about it is that even though it accepts Quicktime VR files, it does not recognise any of the viewing restrictions which you may have placed when exporting from the pano software. This can be very annoying as the person viewing it can zoom in or out as much as they like. Obviously there is a sweet spot with 360 panos which is why you set your viewing restrictions in the first place. Also if your tripod is in your pano but you have got rid of it by setting viewing restrictions. It may work perfectly when viewing in Quicktime, think again for this app as it will ignore those restrictions completely and your tripod will be there for all to see!! Hopefully future updates can rectify this. ### 4/5 — Fantastic stuff! *2012-04-24, version 1.6.1* Was not expecting too much for £1.99 but what a brilliant bit of kit, had a couple of problems so emailed iPano and within 5 minutes they had come back with some very helpfully solutions, thanks again Josh @ iPano. ### 5/5 — Awesome *2012-04-12, version 1.6.1* The app works really well, has a nice interface and displays the panoramas beautifully. I am impressed!! I would love it if it could display multiresolution images like tiled Gigapans. Would be helpful if a low res and watermarked image were allowed to be loaded just so I could test the features. Worthless "free" version ### 1/5 — Worthless *2021-09-20, version 2.1.1* Won’t do anything on iPad without paying. No way to use one of your photos. I even tried loading various sizes and other formats as well which did not work again. I really wonder how apple let app store gets filled with apps that are none functional like this one. There is also no support for this app what so ever. I need a refund for this purchase immediately or and update which can fix this app… -5 Star rating ### 1/5 — Doesn't work on Ipad 1 and no support. *2012-12-10, version 1.7.1* Crashes within less than a second of trying to load/open. Have clicked on the support link here which takes you to the watersoftapps website, where there are no contact or support details what-so-ever. Feeling a bit conned at the moment. ### 1/5 — App crashes every time *2012-04-17, version 1.6.1* I followed the instructions exactly, adding a QTVR object movie through the apps tab in iTunes. Before I added a movie, when I clicked the icon in the upper left corner, the app would tell me it didn't have any movies yet. Now that I've added a movie, when I click the icon in the upper left corner, the app immediately quits. I have tried deleting the movie, and adding another, and the same thing happens. The upper left icon only functions when there is no movie, to tell me there is no movie. The movies were made on a Mac book, in Cinema 4D, in Lion, and work fine on many other computers. It seems kind of pointless. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great viewer *2024-01-11, version 2.1.1* This app works very nicely on both my iPhone and iPad, loading photos either from files or from the photo library using the send to drop down ‘send to iPano ‘ near the bottom. A very small gripe, it forgets I have paid so I have had to ‘restore’ my purchase a couple of times but for 360 panoramas it is a great viewer. ### 5/5 — Almost perfect *2019-07-11, version 2.1.1* It can handle super high res panoramas, and the UI is simple and not distracting, so this is exactly what I was looking for. Give me the ability to organize panoramas into folders in the library, and have it sync over iCloud and it’ll be more or less perfect. ### 5/5 — A great tool for digital renderings. *2018-05-18, version 2.0.4* This is an awesome and simple app to share CGI scenes. I use it for work when I present my interior designs to clients. They just stand in the middle of te room with the iPad in front of them and look around the virtual room. Very immersive. The app could be further refine but works great as is. ### 5/5 — Great app!! *2014-01-20, version 1.8.6* iPano is a very simple app and is very easy to use. As part of my job I produce 3D renders for prospective clients. Many of our clients are interested in seeing a visual concept before committing to the design. By adding a spherical lens to my camera in 3DS Max, I can capture a 360 degree photorealistic panoramic image. The camera movement is very smooth and reads the jpeg image just fine. There is a little distortion if you are zoomed all the way out but that can easily be remedied by zooming in just a little. Keep up the good work. ### 5/5 — Actually plays VR Objects *2013-09-26, version 1.8.1* I was pleasantly surprised to find that this app actually plays QTVR Object movies -- not just Panoramas. Hooked into the iOS motion sensors, viewing panoramas is like looking through a small window into an alternate world. Maybe I'll put a head strap on my iPad and turn it into a VR visor. ### 5/5 — Awesome pano viewer *2013-07-29, version 1.7.2* Wow! I love this thing. Great pano viewer and awesome at 360 or cylinders! I think this shows pics in the best resolution of all apps out there. If not the best then right up there with the best. App works great. Suggest resizing your panos to the recommended size. On an ipad2 this is 8192x4096. Use a black border to fill in any difference in height to width ratios and you should be good to go! I can't stop converting my panos to display on this app! ### 5/5 — Outstanding *2012-10-20, version 1.7* iPano displays pictures up to 8192x4096 without scaling. I haven't seen any other app that can do this. It displays regular pictures and 360-degree panoramas in noticeably higher resolution than iPad's built-in Photo app. It takes FULL advantage of iPad's 2048x1536 display. Unfortunately the start-up menu is confusing with an annoying banner and loading each picture is slow, but viewing pictures is amazing. It's best features are its controls to move around inside pictures. Along with VERY smooth "pinch zoom" and scroll, it can also use iPad's gyroscope. When you move the iPad up, down or sideways, the picture scrolls the same amount --like you are looking out a moving window. With iPad's great resolution and back-lighting, panos are more clear and easier to view than printed pictures. I also like how thumbnails of all of the pictures you add to your favorites list are the full width of the screen. This app takes the Retina display to the limit and really makes my presentations shine. Thanks! ### 5/5 — Awesome *2012-05-31, version 1.6.1* iPano is the best panorama viewer hands down.
