## What is IPTCPhotoSender?

[From the Developer]
As a news agency photographer myself, I use this app
in my daily work. I developed it so that photographers
can send images to their agency instantly from an
iPhone or iPad instead of a PC. My goal is to help
photographers around the world deliver breaking news
to the world faster.

A professional photo transmission app designed for press photographers and media professionals.
Quickly attach IPTC metadata — including captions, photographer credits, and location details — to your photos and send them directly to an FTP server.
Also perfect for anyone who needs to add descriptive information to photos and deliver them via FTP.

[Before You Start]
Photos must be saved in your iOS Photos app before sending. Please transfer your images from your camera to the Photos app in advance.

[Key Features]
Photos Tab
Select photos from your iOS Photos app to send. Tap any photo to open the metadata editor, where you can enter captions, photographer name, location, and more. Use the "Send" button to transmit all photos at once, or send them one by one individually. The status of each photo — sent, pending, or failed — is clearly indicated by the color of the thumbnail border and a status badge.

Sent Tab
Successfully sent photos are automatically moved here. You can edit the metadata and resend any photo if needed. Sent photos remain in this tab even after closing the app, until you manually delete them. Use the "Share" button in the top right to save photos to your Mac, iCloud, or external storage via AirDrop.

Template Tab
Save up to 10 IPTC metadata templates for quick reuse. The selected template is automatically applied to newly added photos, eliminating the need to re-enter the same information every time.

FTP Tab
Register and manage multiple FTP servers, each with a custom name. Use the "Test Connection" button to verify your connection before sending.

Log Tab
Monitor transmission history and connection status in real time.
[Supported Metadata Fields]

Caption / Object Name / City / Headline / Keywords / Photographer / Source / Description Writers / Job ID / Special Instructions

[Companion App]
Works great alongside FTPReceiver, our companion app that lets you receive photos wirelessly from your camera directly to your iPhone.

[Subscription]
A 7-day free trial is available. After the trial period, a subscription is required to continue using the app.

・Monthly Plan $5.99

・Annual Plan (Save 17%). $59.99

Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time through your Apple ID settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-09-07

Version 2.0 — a major update.

Crop
- Crop your photos right before sending, without leaving the app. Adjust with edge and corner handles, choose an aspect ratio (or freeform), preview the result, and redo anytime.
- Cropping preserves your IPTC and Exif metadata, so captions and credits stay intact.

More
- Redeem offer codes directly within the app.
- New "Tagged" option marks sent images with a flag recognized by photo management software such as Photo Mechanic (off by default).
- Template limit increased to 75.
- Improved image handling so full camera metadata is preserved on send.
- Various stability improvements.

Your existing templates and sent photos are fully preserved.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-25

- Redeem offer codes directly within the app. If you have a discount code, enter it from the Paywall or Account screen.
- New "Tagged" option: when enabled, sent images are marked with a Tagged flag recognized by photo management software such as Photo Mechanic. Toggle it in the Account tab. (Off by default.)
- Increased the maximum number of templates to 75.
- Improved subscription check at launch, including offline and slow-network conditions.
- Stability improvements.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-04

New: Customizable IPTC Fields
- Added 10 more IPTC fields for international press use: Title, Credit, Copyright Notice, Byline Title, Sub-location, Province/State, Country, Urgency, Date Created, and Time Created
- Show or hide any field from the new "Customize" button in the Template tab — hiding a field only removes it from view. Its saved value stays intact and is still embedded and sent with your photos.
- This lets you keep frequently edited fields visible while hiding fields you set once and rarely change (such as Credit or Copyright Notice), for a cleaner, faster workflow.
- Reorder fields freely to match how you work.
- Date Created and Time Created are filled automatically from each photo's capture time.
