IPTVS is a general-purpose media player and organizer for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. IPTVS does not provide, sell, curate or grant access to any channel, playable catalog, media service, playlist, subscription or provider account. The app contains no preset playback endpoints. It plays only titles and streams from sources that a user manually enters and is authorized to use. BRING YOUR OWN AUTHORIZED SOURCE Connect one or more M3U/M3U8 playlists or Xtream-compatible servers that you have the legal right to access. The source chosen by the user supplies all channels, playable movie and series titles, guide data and streams. IPTVS does not select, broker or resell that material. ORGANIZE SOURCE METADATA Create separate lists for channels, movies and series. Pin useful categories, hide others and prioritize the regions that matter to you. Search the metadata supplied by your connected sources and see a clear source label on each item. Movie and series discovery can use public metadata and rankings from TMDB to show views such as Trending, Popular, Top rated, regional Now playing and On the air. These views contain only titles safely matched to a playable movie or series already present in your own sources. TMDB does not provide streams or unlock any title. The local catalog index and TMDB cache contain metadata only. They do not store media, credentials or private playback URLs. GUIDE AND PLAYBACK Browse now and next when your source supplies EPG information or you add an XMLTV URL. Replay is available only when the user's authorized Xtream source explicitly supports TV archive. IPTVS does not download or export media for offline use and does not provide file sharing. For compatibility with some source formats, the app may temporarily remux an active stream into short HLS fragments served only to the local player over the device loopback interface. These temporary playback fragments are not exposed to the user and are removed when playback ends. SYNC YOUR SETUP When iCloud Sync is active on devices using the same Apple Account, IPTVS can keep source setup, favorites, custom lists, movie and episode progress, preferred regions, subtitle language and selected settings in step. Credentials are stored with Apple Keychain where supported and with encrypted fields in the user's private iCloud database for cross-device access. Private playback URLs and credentials are not stored in watch history. FREE TO DOWNLOAD After a user adds an authorized source, IPTVS currently applies no daily playback limits. Automatic source refresh waits until the app is usable, runs at most once per day and does not start during playback. • Large catalog upgrades no longer build a new alphabetical category index during launch. The bounded index is created later in background maintenance while all existing sources, catalog data, favorites and progress remain available. • iPhone, iPad and Apple TV persist catalog updates in smaller batches to reduce long database and CPU stalls. • Guide data stays fresh with a separate 12-hour cadence. • Native playback detects a stalled stream and reconnects up to three times. No media, playlist, provider account, stream or third-party service is included. ### 1.8.3 — 2026-08-22 Catalog refreshes and search are faster and stay usable while sources update. • Large catalogs are persisted in bounded batches, reducing long database stalls. • Search returns from a bounded fallback while its derived index repairs in the background. • Catalog refresh and search-index repair no longer contend, preventing a misleading SQLite “database is malformed” error while intact metadata is being indexed. • One- and two-character searches now use indexed title-prefix matching instead of scanning the full catalog. • Home avoids redundant full-catalog reads, and details stay cached when a source is already fresh. • Automatic catalog refreshes now run at most twice per day; manual refresh remains available, while guide data keeps its separate cadence. • Stalled source downloads time out while the last good catalog remains available. • Search results remain complete after refreshes, including titles with punctuation such as apostrophes. • On Apple TV, scrolling results no longer draw over the inline keyboard, and navigation-rail focus is more reliable. • Continue Watching is now centralized on Home instead of being repeated in Movies and Series. • Apple TV subtitle and audio-track choices use cleaner, more predictable focus styling. The database upgrades are constant-size trigger replacements. They perform no catalog backfill, table rewrite or full foreign-key scan.
