## Most critical reviews (7 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2026-08-06*

I can’t even get it to connect.

### 1/5 — Crashed my Phone

*2026-06-09*

Logged into the app for the first time, and allowed it all the access it “needed”. Then I couldn’t connect to internet anymore, I had to force close the app and completely robot my phone and not allow the app to communicate with other devices on the network before I could access the internet again.

**Developer response:** Dear user, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry the app did not meet your expectations and are here to help. Please email connectalarm-support@johnsoncontrols365.onmicrosoft.com with a description of the issue, and we’ll do our best to resolve it promptly.

### 1/5 — Horrible idea for a security system

*2025-08-05*

Having ZERO local programming control is something only a truely clueless individual would create. This is honestly the worst board, system, and overall app to work with. The fact you have to have an app….. to program a security system…. Have you people ever heard of *8 command? Do you know what DSC actually is? Wow actually the worst idea ever. You did it, there’s also a tiny PLASTIC BLUETOOTH BUTTON! Yay!! What an idea. You did the idea thing. Literally man, a Bluetooth button I have to press , scan QR code . Connection, stay within range on my phone…. You absolute numskulls.

**Developer response:** We understand your concerns. The application enables you to configure the system without a physical keypad. It also offers a user-friendly interface with a step-by-step wizard for configuring the system (IQ4, IQ4 Hub, IQ4 NS, IQ Pro). Please formulate your comments specifically. We welcome your specific feedback and aim to incorporate relevant suggestions in the future.

Kind Regards,
IQ Installer Interface Support Team

### 2/5 — Why not add an End-User tab?

*2026-07-13*

You could theoretically never touch your panel again if you could arm and disarm from the installer app. It technically IS an installer app but is a few lines of code away from being the whole suite, which is a net positive for power users.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback and suggestion! We appreciate your interest in the IQ Installer Interface.
The IQ Installer Interface is intentionally designed as a dedicated tool for professional dealers and installers, with elevated access privileges for system configuration and setup. End-user features like arming and disarming are available through our ConnectAlarm app, which is purpose-built for homeowners and end-users.
This separation is by design for important reasons:
Security — Installer-level access carries elevated permissions that need to remain distinct from day-to-day user controls;
Regulatory compliance — Security industry standards require separation between installer and end-user interfaces;
User experience — ConnectAlarm is optimized specifically for everyday use, including arming/disarming, notifications, automation rules, and more.
We recommend downloading the ConnectAlarm app for all your daily panel control needs. If you have any further suggestions, we'd love to hear them!

### 2/5 — could use work a little bit

*2025-05-19*

I use VoiceOver on the iPhone to navigate the app, since I am visually impaired. I can't seem to get past the screen that allows you to accept the terms of service.

**Developer response:** We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your feedback. We’ve already passed this issue on to our development team, and they are currently working on improvements. If you have any additional comments or issues, please feel free to reach out to us at support@johnsoncontrols365.onmicrosoft.com. Thank you for helping us improve!

### 2/5 — Not Reliable enough

*2024-08-02*

App seems to be rushed and very buggy. Why do I need to join my own WiFi when I’m already connected, there should be a question that asks, is your panel connected to WiFi? Are you on the same WiFi as the panel? Ok no need to reconnect. Also, the app hangs and there’s no back button force close is the only option.

**Developer response:** We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your feedback. Your opinion is very important to us, and we will definitely consider your suggestions in our next update. If you have any additional comments or issues, please feel free to reach out to us at support@johnsoncontrols365.onmicrosoft.com. Thank you for helping us improve!

### 3/5 — Functional, but needs a homeowner mode

*2024-02-03*

The app works fine to set up the panel. 3 things needed: 1) homeowner mode so you don’t have to constantly scan the code, 2) along with that stop prompting to join home WiFi when already on it, 3) links to install PDFs in app and prior to scanning code

**Developer response:** We’re sorry for any inconvenience and truly value your feedback. Your suggestions are important to us, and we’ll be sure to take them into account in our next update. If you have any specific requests or issues, especially regarding PDF files, please email us at support@johnsoncontrols365.onmicrosoft.com and let us know more details. We’d love to improve your experience!
