Unauthorised subscription charge
Ambush subscription trick. Take the free trial and spend hours unwinding the quarterly subscription charge which they obtain when you click.
Their dishonest contracting system says you are bound by their terms of service upon downloading the app. The problem is that you can't read their terms of service until after you've downloaded their app so they are trying unilaterally to impose their terms of service upon you in your ignorance . That is illegal.
The terms are expressly subject to English law and in a long line of caselaw the courts of consistently ruled that service provider cannot force their terms of service upon somebody before they've had an opportunity to read reconsider and decide upon those terms of Service.
What is particularly infuriating to me? Is that a charge of $55 has come through on a Saturday afternoon while I'm sleeping and at no time have I been presented with the request for approval for payment of any kind at all? That is fraudulent practice and I'm going to make it my business to find out and identify and publicise the behaviours of the individuals who are behind this Shawty scheme.
