Basically they’ve done a quick and dirty using workouts that invokes a workout when you start the app on the phone which then increments move and exercise data ad nauseam until you end the session. In my view it’s not fit for purpose and shouldn’t be in the AppStore. ### 1/5 — Funktioniert nicht *2011-12-15* Leider erhalte ich, wenn Target gesetzt, die Meldung "Currently NOT navigating". Ansonsten ist das Programm echt gut, aber so unbrauchbar. ### 1/5 — Waypoint spurious entry error *2011-05-20* I thought just the job for my weekend racing, but I simply cannot enter waypoints. After entering a waypoint and when I "SAVE" it actually does not save the Lat and long that I entered, it actually puts in something else ? Which not only makes it useless, but if you have not checked what you saved in terms of coordinated potentially dangerous. I tried with GPS on/off and all manner of combinations but whenever I save the waypoint it simply changes the lat and long. Have I missed something ? There is no phone number so you cant check or talk to anyone and I have not had any answer to my inquiry email. Very dissapointing, but worse a complete waste of money. ### 1/5 — iRegatta *2009-12-08* This is potentially a superb app for racing and I can see where it is going, but i desperately needs to work properly. No GPS speed or bearing working, but the map function is OK. Come on guys, get it updated, working and then it will be fantastic. ### 2/5 — Sometimes works *2014-04-02* It works when it does. Einiges muss extra bezahlt werden, ist das Geld aber wert. Einziger (großer!) Nachteil: Tracks können nur aufgezeichnet werden, wenn die App im Vordergrund läuft. I would like to see a variety of hardware setups and the developer giving some advice on how to apply the Potential of this app. ### 4/5 — Great Sailing App *2011-03-09* I've been using this app for a couple of club races and have come away really impressed. It gives you an amazing amount of detail, speed, VMG, heading etc in a very simple effective tracking system. I Agree with the other reviewer, some buttons could be larger and the ui a little more consistent, but I'm sure thus will happen in future updates. My main wish would be for tweaking options to help with visibility on bright days, but then that also comes down to hardware limitations. This is a terrific sailing app! ### 4/5 — All of the features of expensive sailing instruments at a fraction of the price *2011-03-03* The GPS of the current iPhone/iPad is never going to be as accurate as a dedicated sailing GPS - but given this limitation, iRegatta can provide you with many of the features of expensive instruments without the expense, and at a size you can take with you (with a suitable waterproof cover). The readings are very clear and the process of setting up the start line for both bias and distance is easy - and the apps buttons are reasonably large - although I think they could be larger for gloved hands and make them easier to read in strong light. It also gives you the distance and VMG to the next waypoint and has an easy to read shift indicator to let you know when to tack. It also has a major plus if you want more accuracy in that it can take the input from dedicated NMEA Wi-Fi transmissions from dedicated yacht instruments if you have them and it generates Polar diagrams from The ability to fix a waypoint using two sightings from the iPhone camera is very cool - although quite whether this works on a boat in the waves is something I haven't tested. There's also some inconsistancy in the UI - for most of the screens you exit them using a "AV-type" back button on the bottom left of the screen but the Track listings screen uses an Exit button located at the top left. Accepting nmea inputs makes this very powerful. Start functions and AIS display are excellent. Mit wasserdichter Tasche für 7,99 Euro (oder zur KiWo geschenkt von SAP) verwandelt sich das iPhone in ein Velocitek. Ohne dass man dafür extra 500 Euro hinlegen muss! ### 5/5 — A must have *2011-03-18* This is a must have app for the serious sailor /racer. Have used this now a number of times and it just gets better as you build knowledge of what the instruments are telling you. Obviously it goes without saying protection of your equipment is essential but there are plenty of good products out there. I recommend it it's not over priced for the technology. ### 5/5 — Great tactical app *2010-09-26* I use this on both Iphone4 and Ipad 3G. Its quite handy for timing starts, and tracking headers and lifts. Would like an ability to have heading selectable from COG to magnetic sensor.
