Great idea but they have missed the mark. Cover flow doesn’t work, video doesn’t work, click will needs better touch response, plus why is the iPod not taking up the whole screen. This app could be waaaaaay better.

Seems to be locked with no guidance of how to change anything.

A very faithful approximation of an iPod class with the best UI of any music player ever. Unfortunately, buggy. Extremely often the Menu button just doesn’t work, so you’re left with no way to go back, and it’s possible to get stuck with only a single song playable until you restart the app.

I’m never gonna use something that wastes my time that much, even if it’s free.

Also, maybe you just wanted to be faithful to the original’s dimensions, but it would be way better making it full screen instead of just an iPod in the middle of the screen. That’s just wasted space.

I saw the lower reviews and was hesitant on downloading, very pleased with how it functions. If you download this expecting to play old iPod games or change certain things you can’t. But it’s a great little nostalgic app that frees you from switching apps

This app is amazingly simple and true to its word: it mimics an iPod circa 2008. I wanted to fine tune my experience and up the haptic feedback to a higher setting, because you don’t get a whole lot of haptics by default, and with a modern device’s touch screen, pushing the menu/pause play buttons feels very strange. You don’t get the clicky feedback you otherwise would on a real iPod. Included in the iPod main menu, are “settings” and “extras,” neither of which actually work. Tbh that was my only let down. I simply wanted to see if I could turn the haptics up to a higher setting, to perhaps get a more push button feedback, similar to the one you get with Apple’s 3D Touch/Live Photo feature on a normal iPhone. Well, hopefully the devs read this and add that functionality. When they do, it’s def 5/5 stars from me!!

It clicks like the iPod classic did .. I had one .. yes I wish it was as big as the phone but it’s fine .. if you want the playlists to shuffle just go to the Apple Music and have them shuffle there then go back to the retro app and they will in that app .. not a big deal to me at all .. For what Apple allows you do with this app I’m impressed 🥰

Great app! I love the old retro iPod 6th gen design. The only thing is it shuffles my songs no matter what I do and the menu button sometimes doesn’t work

THE PROS: Works great with your Apple library! It’ll play every song. And while Apple won’t allow them to use the round click wheel, it’s just fine if it’s shaped like a hexagon. Personally, I don’t mind…in fact, I kinda like it.  It performs well, it does what they says it will do.

THE CONS: But you can’t change the font size for people who are visually impaired like myself. I don’t mind the albums being listed alphabetically, but what about the people who want listed by the artist? 

On a side note, any MP3’s or other than Apple library music it will not play. But then you couldn’t play other MP3’s or other from some other source. Neither did the original.

Une appli très sympa avec une interface nostalgique d'iPod Classic.

Mais il y a de petits bugs un peu frustrants... Rien d'insurmontable donc merci de juste de faire des mises à jour de corrections... Apple devrait y penser d'ailleurs 😅

The app has a great concept and looks amazing, especially for anyone nostalgic about the original iPod Classic. However, it currently lacks many core features. Several options don’t function properly—Cover Flow view doesn’t work, the song list doesn’t scroll, shuffle isn’t functional, and the menu button is often unresponsive. With these issues fixed, this could be an excellent app. Hoping the developer addresses these issues in the upcoming update.

Nice concept but fullscreen would make more sense. Settings and extras does nothing. Cover Flow doesn’t open. Several of the navigation controls like going back don’t work unless a song is playing. Considering this was last updated 4 years ago I’d probably say this is dead now.

Cute app, but when you’re playing a song and you press “menu”, nothing happens. I have to force close the app and reopen it to get back to the main menu or change the music I’m listening to.

I was excited to discover this app exists only to find out the scrolling for the Artist tab is about 25% of the speed it should be compared to the other tabs. If you fix that, it becomes an instant millennial hit.

I just want to get and mod a iPod without having to spend 400$ and i got this app and it was TERRIBLE. I pressed something I didn’t mean to and i pressed menu and it wouldn’t go back and when it started playing music i pressed Now playing and it crashed. I would rather get my leg broken on a hydraulic press than use this awful app. GOODBYE
